Never a doul moment when using this company highly recommended

I have used Wilkin Chimney sweep for quite a few years now and they have always turned up on time done a brilliant job and left my room exactly how they found it - spotless !

They arrived on time and completed the work quickly (e.g) 25 minutes so at £75 for 25 minutes work was a little over priced but it was completed with no mess and to a good standard.

Mr Thomson was early as usual and again as usual, was professional throughout. The nest in my chimney was removed without fuss or mess and the area throughly cleaned afterwards.
Highly recommended.

There is never a problem and everything is left clean and tidy

Last year I was very happy with this contractor and their work, I reviewed positively, I am sure the review would have been the same this year.

However… I had an email stating 10:30-11:30 for my sweep. I was on a tight schedule that day with only the one hour in my work diary free, when they had not arrrived by 11:10 I headed off assuming there was an issue or they had been delayed. I did not call as a chimney sweep is an easy thing to rearrange and was sure they would be in touch. Carried on my day arriving home around 6pm. When I read through emails a little later I had received an abortive visit charge of £76. Checked phone and found a missed call from Les, I had been on a site visit close to home where I cannot have mobile he had arrived at my property after I left.

I dropped Nick Ménage a message to say I did not understand invoice as I had waited until 11:10, what followed this was a very rude a interaction, he accused me of not reading my emails properly, of blaming him when I had clearly forgotten which was not the case. I had missed the line in the email where it said arrival between 10:30-11:30 and understood it that the sweep would be between 10:30-11:30. Just an error. No blame but I am no drama and so when they hadn’t arrived had just assumed something had happened.

He wrote in the email that he would have waivered a portion of the charge had I have just admitted I had forgotten and not blamed him, also insinuating I was lying! I have to say his rudeness was something I was shocked to receive over something so minor.

I will pay his abortive visit but I do not want this company back based purely on his rude communication as I had made a small error.
