0 stars - closed my security account to my outlook then wouldn’t let me in. Wouldn’t let me change the backup account without getting a code they sent to the old one (that they shut down). Knew all my details for my outlook account then they locked me out due to suspicious activity while I was travelling overseas. Tried to get back in every day where I was told there was not enough information. Got back home and tried again where I was told I’ll be notified in 24 hours. Each time there has been no response but then I am restricted on how many times I can attempt each day. Customer service is non existent and makes you log in (which my issue is I cannot). Only email address monitored by a human is their careers portal where someone called Neetika directed me back to the website. I explained how I am requesting someone to contact and they said they don’t deal with that and to contact the appropriate channel - which they obviously couldn’t tell me because it’s non-existent. 3 months now locked out of my account when I have all the accurate required information.

What a joke

What a joke, it is useless to even try and im guessing it is by design to be that way. been trying for over a year to get back into an email and it's hard when you are dealing with idiots who have no willingness to help you at all.

Pretty rubbish

Pretty rubbish. They kept repeating the same questions to ask about the problem and ask you to try out the same thing all over and then kept asking back the same questions for clarification! It is like talking
What utter rubbish Microsoft has become recently!

The worst customer support experience I have ever had

I have never experienced customer support this dysfunctional from a company of Microsoft’s size.

I am the administrator of my own Microsoft 365 business account. I lost access to the Microsoft Authenticator registration tied to the administrator account, so I can still access my Outlook email but cannot access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center because MFA is blocking me.

This should be a straightforward account recovery/escalation issue.

Instead, I have spent hours over multiple days being bounced back and forth between Microsoft and GoDaddy.

Microsoft tells me GoDaddy still controls the account and that GoDaddy must reset the MFA.

I call GoDaddy, wait on hold, explain everything again, and GoDaddy tells me the account was already migrated away from them and that they literally do not have the ability to reset the MFA. GoDaddy even provided me written documentation/screenshots showing they cannot perform the action Microsoft is telling me they must perform.

I then go back to Microsoft, wait again, provide Microsoft with the documentation from GoDaddy, and somehow Microsoft responds by telling me to go back to GoDaddy again.

My first Microsoft support case, 2608270010001921, was then closed without the issue being resolved.

I had to start over and open another case, 2609020010000127.

The worst part is how difficult it is to even reach a competent human being. The phone system repeatedly routes you through AI and automated support while you are dealing with an issue that specifically requires a human administrator or tenant recovery team.

I own the domain. I have access to the email account. I can verify billing, DNS, company information, and ownership. I know the password. I am simply locked behind an MFA method I no longer have access to.

Yet Microsoft apparently cannot figure out which department is responsible for resetting it.

For a company responsible for the email and authentication systems of millions of businesses, this level of support is unacceptable.

I am not asking Microsoft to perform some unusual technical project. I am asking them to restore administrative access to a Microsoft 365 tenant that I own.

Instead, I have become the messenger between Microsoft and GoDaddy because neither company will take ownership of the problem.

Absolutely unbelievable experience.

I have never used a product with as bad…

I have never used a product with as bad support as this. If I'd known the support was this bad I wouldn't have chosen Microsoft at all! It's absolutely awful. Everything is automated and their AI is somehow archaic. It doesn't understand what you say. It took me 30 to 40 minutes JUST TO OPEN A SUPPORT TICKET?! What is wrong with this company? The world is advancing and they are regressing. If you see this before making a decision, don't choose MS.

My rewards account was banned for no…

My rewards account was banned for no valid reason. I have been a loyal user following all the terms of service, but my account got suspended out of nowhere and customer support is completely useless. If there was an option for 0 stars, I would give 0 stars because they don't even deserve 1 star. They are true scammers. Waste of time and effort!

Microsoft's Account Recovery Process Is Not Fit for Purpose

A straightforward account access issue has now been ongoing for weeks. We have completed Microsoft's recovery process more than 50 times, repeatedly contacted live chat, spent hours dealing with support and followed every instruction provided.

We've repeatedly been told to wait 24–48 hours, only for nothing to happen. Support requests have been closed without resolution, emails ignored and escalations met with automated responses.

After weeks of this, we were eventually told the account was locked and required an entirely different reinstatement form. We completed this immediately, yet once again there has been no meaningful response.

This concerns an older person with accessibility needs who relies on the account for important everyday communications.

We understand Microsoft needs strict account security. We're not asking for security to be bypassed, we're asking for a human being to review the situation and take ownership of resolving it.

For a company of Microsoft's size, the lack of communication, accountability and effective customer support has been completely unacceptable.

Extremely disappointing Microsoft…

Extremely disappointing Microsoft Support experience – still unresolved - Case No: 7106563523

I have had an extremely frustrating experience with Microsoft Support concerning Microsoft 365 Personal and my existing Office 2019 licence.

I was granted Microsoft 365 Personal following my complaints that my licence office 2019 was deactivated, and was no longer in use from mid-July 2026.
However, I have been unable to redeem and activate Microsoft 365 Personal through the link Microsoft provided by email. I have repeatedly followed the troubleshooting instructions provided by Support, including submitting screenshots, but the problem has still not been resolved.
At the same time, I have been unable to use my documents normally, which has caused significant disruption and resulted in a considerable amount of wasted time.
I have repeatedly requested a scheduled telephone call with someone who could actually resolve the issue, and for the Microsoft office 365 Personal to be activated directly onto my Microsoft office account. Despite the repeated requests, no such call has been proposed and arranged.
Instead, I continue to receive requests to repeat troubleshooting steps that I have already completed several times.
The situation is particularly disappointing because this case has already been escalated, yet the experience feels no different from the initial online chat support.

I have also experienced difficulties with the Microsoft account accepting my new payment-card details after my previous card expired, which prevented me from progressing with the redemption process.
My request is straightforward: I would like Microsoft to resolve the activation issue and, if the redemption link cannot be made to work, activate Microsoft 365 Personal directly on my Microsoft account so that I can download and use the software.

I understand that Microsoft has different departments and procedures, but after weeks of repeated troubleshooting and escalation, I believe a customer should be provided with a clear resolution rather than being asked to repeat the same process again and again.
This has been a very disappointing experience, and not the first one, particularly given that I have already spent a substantial amount of time trying to resolve an issue that should have been straightforward.

I am now considering to pourchasse Microsoft 365, in order to continue to work and I can no longer wait for Microsoft support to resolve the issue, despite the subscription already having been granted to me.

I just bought a new PC and my MS Office…

I just bought a new PC and my MS Office didnt automatically come over to the new unit. I had a few issues but HP Support helped me, with live support! Microsoft doesnt offer live support without going through hoops BUT after 4 hours I did get to a support person who agreed they needed to take control of my PC to determine the problem. I had a rep on the phone, who I did give my phone number to in case we got disconnected. well of course I did get disconnected. He never called me back! I opened a ticket for someone to call me and waited another 4 hours and still no one called me. I need my files that are in MS office so I need to start all over again today. They are the only tech company I know that doesn't offer live tech support. Dont they know that most of us are not schooled in back door programming and many things Can not be answered by AI. I dont want to lose my files so I need to go through another awful day trying to get them but I will be looking for an alternative for word and excel why should I pay an annual fee to MS when you obviously dont care about my business

Choose another

I wish I could rate them less than 1. I have spent the best part of the day trying to sort out my MS account. Their advisors are hopeless, uninformed and pointless. I was asked to complete a customer survey, I made one negative but polite comment and my survey was deleted. MS are too expensive and I will go elsewhere for more polite, friendly and intelligent service.

Microsoft Support is without exception…

Microsoft Support is without exception the worst of any company I have every contacted. To say that Microsoft doesn't care at all about their customers is an understatement. I have never experienced a company before that has no problem with and even seems proud of leaving their customers abandon and simply screwed. It must be nice to be able to not care and not support your customers because you have such a monopoly on the market that even your most frustrated and pissed off customers have no choice but to continue to use your produce. All I can say is I now have a new level of HATE for Microsoft.

Truly brilliant about being abysmal.

Truly brilliant about being abysmal.

Monopoly on operating systems on desk tops and lap tops so why whine when you get garbage service when things go wrong. Someone has to speak up for them and give them 5 stars for incompetence.

Stuck in constant AI loop

I bought Microsoft Office 365 for a new Windows 11 laptop, installed it OK but authentication code was sent to an old Gmail account which I can no longer access. Tried Google and Microsoft customer service, impossible to speak to anyone, in a constant AI loop, I don't know what to do next, I have wasted money on office 365!

AI slop breeding more AI slop

I have been trying to resolve my payment issues. None of my credit cards work, nor am I allowed to pay with Venmo. I tried Microsoft Support, but the AI bot tells me to reenter my information. The AI bot then gave me a number, but the AI phone operative told me that I can't talk to a live representative and that I need to resolve my issue on the website. All I want to do is purchase Microsoft 365, but it looks like I'm going to Google now.

Extremely disappointed with Microsoft…

Extremely disappointed with Microsoft would be an understatement. As a paid up up member I would expect to at least be able to speak to a human to fix my problem. Indeed after several hours of continuous effort trying to get through I did manage to speak to Rhealyn D on Friday. She came on to my computer and I thought the problem was fixed. When I tried to access my emails today it failed and I have been working with CHATS for over 5 hours to resolve. Following all the instructions doing the work myself and in the end being informed they cannot help. I am a fully paid member and have subscribed for about 10 years up yet I now have no access to my emails on which I depend to make important communications. If there is an alternative solution to Microsoft use it. They are happy to take your money but when there is a problem it is impossible to speak to a human and resolve the matter and even when doing all the work oneself under guidance of CHATS there is still no resolution. My next call is to the FCA to report what can only be described as a fraudulent activity ! Dispicible and irresponsible and only hope the FCA can do something about this.
