Good service at the moment of recieving the Keys, talking about the concepts and taking the car. The same bringing it back, really quick attention.
But i had a problem after recieving the invoice, they included me 60€ more in taxes and fuel but i have a couple doubts i want to be solved first. They send me a whatsapp channel to answer my problem, they ve never answered. Even when i insisted a couple more times.
Probably there's nothing wrong in invoice, but how they handle this situation makes worse the service and warning me in case a real problem happens.

Excellent customer service from Kawty! She had everything prepared for us in advance and even kindly confirmed she would wait beyond closing time, as we were landing and coming directly from the airport. Truly professional, helpful, and accommodating throughout the entire process. Highly recommended!

Positive car was brand new excellent condition. Negative we were forced by employee's aggressive sales pitch, paying more than double the original estimate from 195 to 400 EUR, only for 4 days rental. Employee stated that the original estimate did not include insurance coverage, when it actually had it.

When picking up the car in Turin, the entire process took no more than 3–5 minutes. When returning the car at Bergamo Airport, we didn’t even have to call for an agent — he came over himself despite the rain. He even helped us unload our suitcases and clearly explained how to get to the airport terminal. We had a very positive rental experience with this company.

I rented a compact estate and paid a little premium to get a better and more spacious car (Cupra Leon Sportstourer) in La Coruña center Sixt. When I picked up the car they said they do not have that car available that I reserved 1½ months in forehand. Then they tried to upsell to get the class I wanted, they wanted to double the price. I did not agree. Then they tried to sell extra insurances very peristantly. I had to settle for the cheapest and smallest possible option in this class (Peugeot 2008, which was a light hybrid and it was awfull to be honest). I told the customer service person that I was not satisfied, I would have paid less and reserved the cheaper car if I would have known this. Then she told me that I could get a little better car Skoda Karoq next morning and I was happy and agreed. When I went to change the car next morning she told me it still was not there. I did not want to wait or come back the next day, I did not want to waste my precious holiday any more. She promised several times to contact me, when they have the car etc., they never contacted me once. They did not even inform me that the better car I went to get as agreed was not there. So I drove around for nothing and wasted my time- And paid extra for nothing. I have had good experience with Sixt but this time I was not satisfied. At least the La Coruña centre office does not serve their customers as I would expect. The customer service was a disappointment. I could try to get some refund but I think I won't bother, it will just be waste of my time. Again. No thank you. Next time another company maybe?

Unfortunately Sixt rents large SUVs that are not appropriate for certain of their dropoff locations, such as Cordoba. It's too tight and the entire staff knows it, they recommend to abandon the vehicle in the public ramp and get help. That should never be a rental car location. And then Sixt Espana's relevant department is only available half a day and then they dont reply in time, nor meaningfully via email. You get better service in the jungle than at Sixt spain. They know people have problems with that garage, they could warn people, or find various solutions, but they don't.
Appreciate the "standard review response" below, but if Sixt actually wants to improve service, can start by meaningfully reply to my emails to the department. When they do so, I will update this review accordingly, so otherwise all readers should assume service level is not acceptable.

You make a reservation for a large car with a large trunk, but at the counter you are told that the reserved car is not available. We were given an option for a Citroen C3 (read: the free upgrade) with a much smaller trunk capacity. We are standing at the counter with 3 small children, one of whom is still in a stroller, and two large suitcases. So you are forced to accept a much more expensive upgrade; you are backed into a corner. Consequently, we had to pay hundreds of euros extra, on top of the amount already paid for the reserved car. For us, this is the first and also the last time with SIXT. SIXT's customer service is also very poor.
Subject: Re: Formal Dispute of Charges — Rental Agreement No. 9609946636 / Invoice 1066020000874346
Dear Sixt Customer Service,
Thank you for your response.
I am truly sorry to have trusted your agent's word. She represented Sixt at the counter, and I had every reason to believe that what she offered was a legitimate commitment on behalf of the company. None of what was verbally agreed was reflected in the contract or honoured in the final billing.
I will be honest: I did not review the rental conditions carefully at the time of signing. I did not do so because of the confidence your agent conveyed and because of the trust I placed in Sixt as a well-established company. That trust, unfortunately, was not warranted.
The amount in dispute is not significant enough for me to pursue the matter further through arbitration or legal channels. I therefore consider this case closed on my end.
However, I do intend to share my experience on relevant travel and car rental review platforms, describing the facts as they occurred. Other travellers deserve to be aware of what happened so they may make informed decisions.
Yours faithfully,
Mauro Dottori

I am writing this review to express my deep frustration with damage claim #9077921260 regarding my recent rental of a Peugeot 208 (0054NLB). As a loyal, recurring Sixt customer, I am shocked by the lack of professionalism in this process.
Sixt is attempting to charge me €300 based on photographs of extremely poor quality where it is impossible to distinguish any actual damage from simple reflections or dust. Furthermore, no joint inspection was conducted when I collected the car, making it impossible to establish the vehicle's initial condition.
The car remained stationary in a secure hotel parking lot for the duration of the rental and was even returned earlier than scheduled. Pursuing a claim with such ambiguous evidence against a frequent user is unacceptable. I hope Sixt Customer Service will do the right thing and close this claim immediately to maintain our professional relationship.

I have been a loyal SIXT customer for many years and have spent a significant amount of money with the company over time, which makes this experience even more disappointing.
I originally booked an 8-day flexible rental, but due to a sudden family medical emergency involving my mother being hospitalized, I had to return the vehicle early after only 2 days.
Before returning the car, I contacted SIXT customer service and was informed over the phone that I would only be charged for the actual rental duration. Based on this information, I proceeded with the early return.
To my surprise, I was later charged €451.20 for essentially a 2-day rental. The original 8-day rental price was only €594.01, making the final charge of €451.20 for just 2 day s rip off. Although SIXT repeatedly referred to a “goodwill” adjustment, the so-called goodwill was simply their standard policy discount already reflected in the invoice — not any additional compensation or fair resolution.
What disappointed me most was not only the amount itself, but the way the case was handled afterwards:
• Multiple case numbers were opened
• I received repeated “we are still reviewing your request” emails over more than a week
• Different agents gave inconsistent responses
• A €35 compensation offer was made during one phone call, which I declined as it did not reasonably address the issue
• In the end, no real consideration was given to the misinformation I received before returning the vehicle
As someone who has used SIXT frequently over the years, I expected far better customer care and transparency in handling a genuine emergency situation.
Unfortunately, this experience has seriously damaged my trust in the company and will make me reconsider using SIXT again in the future.
Following SIXT’s public response to my review, I contacted them again and provided all requested documents and details once more as requested on trustpilot. Unfortunately, after another review, I ultimately received the same response and no additional flexibility or resolution was offered.

No refund despite flight delay, kept 100% of 12-day rental
Booking D013445274. Reserved a 12-day car rental in Spain (May 3–15, 2026). My flight VY2012 was delayed and I arrived ~90 minutes after the scheduled pick-up time, same day, well within Sixt Granada's business hours (which close at 21:00). DiscoverCars marked the booking as no-show and refused any refund, modification, or booking credit — keeping 100% of the amount paid for zero days of service rendered.
I offered to modify the booking to a shorter period (May 5–11) so the funds I already paid could go toward an actual rental. They refused. I also paid separately for "Full Coverage," which their own terms state is refundable any time before pick-up — they ignored this point entirely in their response.
The 0-minute grace period buried in the voucher is unusually strict for the industry, and applying a 100% no-refund policy when the customer is actively trying to continue the service is, in my view, unreasonable and disproportionate. I'm pursuing this via chargeback and a formal complaint to Spanish consumer authorities.
If you're considering booking through DiscoverCars: be aware that ANY delay past your scheduled pick-up time, regardless of cause, results in total loss of payment.

I made a reservation from South to North Tenerife Airport in March. A month later Sixt emailed me that a mirror had been damaged and that they would automatically debit my card.
As i had taken videos on departure and arrival which showed that there was already damage on the mirror before our departure i thought it was a hoax until they made me pay 159.93 euros automatically.
I sent thereafter emails with the two videos at both the damage and claims mail addresses of Sixt - but Sixt is not responding. I do not know how then i can be reimbursed. This is not right.

Everything transparent, you get all relevant info through email instantly. Only thing i find a bit odd is that renting in offices is always cheaper than on website.

I recently rented a car with Sixt for a trip from Madrid to Valencia, and the experience was absolutely flawless. If you are planning a road trip through mainland Spain, I cannot recommend them enough.
Here are the highlights of my rental:
Affordable One-Way Fee: I picked up the car in Madrid and returned it in Valencia. The surcharge for dropping it off in a different city was only €30, which is incredibly fair compared to other companies.
Surprise Upgrade: I originally booked a small economy-class car, but the team gave me a free upgrade to a full-size Skoda Scala station wagon. It made the long drive much more comfortable!
Pristine Condition: The car was practically brand new, with only 2,400 km on the odometer. It felt and smelled like it just rolled off the assembly line.
Transparent Deposit Policy: The security deposit was only €300. What impressed me most was that it was released within 10 days—I actually got my deposit back before my rental period had even officially ended.
Lightning-Fast Return: The drop-off process in Valencia was impressively efficient. It took exactly 2 minutes from the moment I parked until I was walking away.
I am completely satisfied with the service and will definitely choose Sixt again for my next trip to Spain. Highly recommended!

Liable to be surcharged at Almeria airport.
We hired a car in January and was dealt with very professionaly by a young lady. Because of the good experience, they were the first choice on the next return in April and was dealt with by a young man.
There was a VERY long, hard sell to upgrade the insurance with the comment that the insurance booked with the car through their website wasn't very good.
An inspection report was requested, and as last time was told it was sent electronically. I said that it didn't work last time because I couldnt submit my findings . I was told very firmly that it would work this time (I was impressed by his ability to see the future but then wondered why he was working in a car hire business rather than enjoying the billions his gift should have got him).
The car was located and as expected, the inspection report couldn't be commented on. I took a video of the car that had damage all over it, barely a panel was undamaged, a disgraceful conditon to hire out without disount.
On the return a week later a complaint was made about the state of the car. The response was not much more than an apologetic shrug. Totally insincere.
An email was recieved saying tehre was no damage.
Then, more than 48 hour after the car was returned, an email was received saying new damage was found!
At this stage, it's important to note that there is no discussion with them, no phone number or email, you're reduced to uploading your comments via a web portal - perfect for them to frustrate you, ignore your comments and issue a surcharge. I fully expect they will disregard the photo evidence and deduct from my credit card.
There's enough money in car hire to not have to resort to dishonesty, and to hire competent staff but ...
Regardless of whether they accept my comments, they've lost my business permanently, I don't like liars or thieves and like incompetent people just as little. Which category these lot fall into I don't know but I won't be going back to them.
I'm already making arrangements to return in 2 weeks or so, so whatever profit they make from their scam/damage claim won't compensate for the lost revenue of even one hire period.
The damage was chip to a windscreen which is quite large and obvious, and I find it impossible to believe that it wasn't revealed by inspection before I hired it, or when I returned it, but only 48 hours later! Impossible to believe.
What I find most distatesful and troubling is that ALL the responsibility for detecting damage is put n the customer, who may find as we did twice that they cannot report it electroically and are then faced wit returning to the desk to report it - by the time we actually got the keys, there was a queue of about 3-4 others, so you're looking at the best part of an hour to wait if you join that queue, and I doubt any good will come off it because the man won't be able to leave the desk.
So, the kind way of looking at it is that they're not good at finding damage and they don't provide a reliable way of reporting damage they haven't spotted, and this causes difficulties with the claims department (who are elsewhere, maybe in a different city/country) .
The alternative view is that they deliberately don't report all the damage so they can hit you with repair bills.
Another troubling thing is the standard template reply to reviews here, I always take that as a sure sign that customer servce and dealing with complaints isn't important. In this case, I very much doubt that whoever looks at these complaints is able to override the claims department.
Edit:
Forgot to say that the car absolutely stank of cigarettes, I mean really stinking. This complaint on return also received a "I don't give a ****" shrug. This man's attitude is going to cause a loss of business on it's own.
The credit card company has been warned that any extra charges from these shysters will be fraudulent.
I notice the exact template reply as used in every other reply - as I said, a virtual guarantee that the reviews are not actually being read, just receiving a rely to give the impression theft the company actually cares about customer experiences.
To the response, no, I won't be writing to such a generic email address that won't reach the people that matter - the man at the top who can stop such dishonest practices.

Was due to return car at 5am (Outside normal opening) returned car and posted keys in security box at 5.20am as office hadn't opened Charged €12 for late returned. On checking you are allowed a late return of vehicle of one hour once you notify Sixt in advance. Crazy how are you to know you are going to get held up. I hadn't time to take a video of the car and just did a quick visual of car to check that everything was ok.
Later that day I get a email and from Sixt showing a small chip on the door well. I don't remember seeing it when I dropped off car. Can say 100% if it was there when I picked up or dropped off. It was a tiny stone chip and I have just received an invoice from Sixt of €136. I have used Sixt for 4 rentals over last 12 months
They have just lost my future business.

Be very careful renting from Sixt.
We were charged for damage we did not cause. We provided photo evidence showing the damage was already there, but Sixt rejected it because the photos were taken 24 minutes after «check in».
At the same time, they cannot provide any documentation of the car’s condition before our rental.
Despite an ongoing dispute, they still charged our credit card.
No proper inspection at pickup – and the burden of proof is pushed entirely onto the customer.
This feels like a system where you can be held liable without evidence.
We are now forced to escalate through our bank.
Update: Sixt responded here asking us to contact their claims department, but we have already been in contact with them and provided all documentation. The issue remains unresolved and our credit card was still charged while the case is disputed.
”Update: After posting this, we found multiple other reviews describing very similar experiences – including customers being charged for damage they claim was already present, even after providing photo documentation.
This raises serious concerns that this may not be an isolated incident, particularly as our own evidence has not been accepted.”
Final update: After disputing the claim, providing documentation and continuing the case through our bank, Sixt has now confirmed that the money will be refunded.
We still believe the handling of the case was concerning, particularly the lack of pre-rental documentation and the fact that our card was charged while the case was disputed.
However, we appreciate that the matter was eventually resolved.
