£100 wasted

£100 wasted – extremely disappointing

We paid £50 each for front- block seats at the Tina Turner by Candlelight concert at Worcester Cathedral as a birthday treat. Sadly, the experience was ruined by appalling audience management and very poor acoustics.

People were allowed to stand around drinking, talking and laughing, while around 20 others danced, shouted and talked in the aisles throughout the performance. Stewarding was virtually non-existent, and despite raising our concerns at the interval, little changed.

Alongside poor acoustics, the constant disruption made it impossible to properly enjoy the music. We eventually left at 9:10pm, before the concert finished.

Simply not worth the money. We won’t be attending another Kinda Dusty concert.

Don’t waste your money!

Don’t waste your money! This “Oasis by Candlelight “ concert in Leeds Minister was by far the worst concert I’ve been too. The actual band music side production wasn’t all bad, but the vocals “Liam” were very shouty, out of tune at times, nasal sounding, and a lot louder than the instrument levels. Think the crowd expected as advertised a small intimate chilled out set performed with strings, instead they got a very loud rock band production that didn’t carry very well in the cathedral setting. The atmosphere was disappointing and a bit dead, resulting in “Noel” trying so desperately but failing to get audience dancing or engaged. One disgruntled audience member shouted “ya rubbish” (polite phrase) before leaving mid set.

The event was very misled in its advertising! Candlelight yes, technically there were candles, quality atmospheric production no.

Not great to say the least

Not great to say the least. Am a big fan of the Eagles and go to watch my favourite tribute band, the Illegal Eagles every year, so I thought I'd give this band a try. Very disappointing. One of the three male singers was ok, but the harmonies were non existent. The female singer was awful. So out of tune and just whailed through her songs. The concert was supposed to be 'by candlelight', which were fake plastic candles lined up at the front of the 'stage'. I purchased 3 x Premium tickets at £40 each. Our seats were so hard and uncomfortable, I was glad to get up and walk around the Cathedral in the half time break. Wells Cathedral is such a beautiful building and I spent much of the time admiring the architecture, instead of enjoying watching the band. I personally wouldn't recommend this concert because I was expecting better, but we did try to make the most of it, stayed until the end and had a singalong to some of my favourite songs. Will be seeing Illegal Eagles soon so will really appreciate and enjoy that. Now thats a band I can highly recommend!

Saw Fleetwood Mac show last night, booked because the promo video was so good.We didn’t see that so sold under false pretences. It was mediocre 3 men and 1 woman ,sometimes on stage individually.Men singing Stevie Nicks songs.Backing band were good. The songs made the show and many seemed to like it but it was cruise ship show quality.Someone is making a fortune on these candlelight shows and it’s not the performers.Paid nearly £60 a ticket so takings at least a million.Performers got peanuts I bet.

My wife & I attended the ‘Beatles By Candlelight’ concert at Durham Cathedral on the 28th of August 2026. If the so called concert had been advertised as the Music of The Beatles it might have a more accurate description of the hour long Wailing & Screeching we were subjected to!
Never mind by Candlelight, the show wasn’t worth a light - a complete waste of time and money. The only benefit, although it might be damaging to the Cathedral’s reputation is that its board of trustees would have received a payment for renting out space to KindaDusty (KindaScammy). We have pre-booked two more of their ‘rip off’ events at Newstle’s Cathedral but won’t be attending either😢☹️👎Ken Grey

I went to Bowie by candlelight at Derby…

I went to Bowie by candlelight at Derby cathedral. I’ve been to shows by this company before and they have been brilliant. But this show I couldn’t hear most of what he was singing, every word just ran into another. We were sat near the front. When he spoke into the mic it just sounded like mumbling. Others made similar comments.

Having said that there were songs he did very well - without the band, like space odessey and life on mars - those came through clear as he was just using a guitar. I don’t know if it’s a sound issue or the band… but as a life long Bowie fan I’m disappointed.

I hope it’s a glitch and that future shows get back to being as good as they were. But until I see some good reviews I’m reluctant to buy tickets.

Terrible experience in the city hall…

Terrible experience in the city hall Fri 7th. Contacted company but of course no response. Booked and paid 106 euros for a very unacceptable night, atmosphere, stage, decor etc not like concerts by candlelight of other companies I have seen before, plus people were sitting in our seats and after informing management did nothing about it.

Pink Floyd - Exekter Cathedral

We attended a Pink Floyd tribute act at Exeter Cathedral on 1st August 2026. Accoustics were very poor. The sound balance was awful - the guitar(s) were completely overwhelmed by the percussion but quite honestly this was the worst Pink Floyd tribute band I have ever seen. The lady was by far and away the best performer. The band murdered Run like hell and money to name but a few of many. Need to do a lot mlore rehearsing!!!!

Eagles by Candlelight - tragic

Eagles by Candlelight St Edmundsbury 31st July 2026. An embarrassingly tragic performance in all respects. The people sitting next to us left after 4 songs. We stuck it out until the interval and left with a number of other people. Love the Eagles, and have attended other tribute bands (Illegal Eagles, Talon etc) but this was beyond awful. A total waste of our time and money.

Shocking Discrimination

I am really disgusted with this organisation. As a disabled person I took the opportunity to sign up for early access to tickets for me and my carer. When I tried to book, having read the instructions about booking a free carer place i was shocked to find that there was no way I could book this for the seats I wanted.
I sent them an email and they told me i was too late and would have to wait until the tickets were open to the general public but they would sell very quickly. I informed them that I wasn't too late, I had just been waiting for them to respond.
The tickets were due to go on sale today and from midnight I tried and tried to book from their website which shows a calendar and nothing came up.
I continued to try throughout the night and morning and finally this afternoon I received an email saying that I could book and the seats I wanted were still available. I went straight into the link and yes, the seats were there but what! I could not book a carers seat. I discovered that I could only book a carers seat where they wanted me to sit way back in the Minster. I just can't believe what discrimination they are showing. Just because I'm disabled i can't choose where to sit and neither can my carer. I had explained to them that I would arrive on my mobility scooter and then use my crutches to access the seats. I've never had a good seat before and because I would be sitting i thought this would be great. Needless to say i did not proceed with my booking and will not be booking at any more of their concerts.

Cold play at Tewkesbury Abbey

Cold play at Tewkesbury Abbey. So disappointing. Cruise Ship Boy Band, three singers dancing around with a band you could not hear shoved at the back. Token plastic candles. More like a very poor Take That tribute. Really weird. We sneaked out as did others after the first few songs.

St Albans Cathedral

.If I wanted to see a a tribute band on TV sitting on a fold up chair i would have stayed at home.
We were behind a pillar and with a TV screen on it couldnt even see the band. The band were OK musically but the liam and Noel impersonations were really cringeworthy. We left early never and would never go to another one.
Save money watch the real deal on utube.

Concert by Candlelight Westlife Hull Minster

I wasn't sure what to expect as I hadn't been to a concert by candlelight before, but what a disappointment. Firstly there was no candlelight just a few fake candles on the stage. This was a Westlife concert so you would expect the singers to have strong voices, unfortunately the five singers on stage were out of tune and couldn't hit any of the high notes. The concert lasted 75 minutes so the price of £35.00 was extortionate. Won't go to another one.
