I have been renting by the minute their cars for almost a month, and their app dosn' t work most of the time. When you try to start the car it doesn' t making you loose a lot of time in a hot sealed car. THEN EVEN THOUGH THE CAR DOESN' T MOVE AND YOU OPEN THE DOORS GO OUT AND IN THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES, THEY WILL CHARGE YOU AS IF YOU ARE USING THE CAR. then today i parked the car and shut off engine, closed doors and walked away but still they charged me 40 min. They are a disgrace and a distrutful company. Let' s see if they refund me about €43.36 of unlawful charges

Charged €248 for a flat tire caused by their own poor fleet maintenance
I’ve been a loyal customer since early 2022, back when Free2Move was still Share Now, and have spent well over €1,000 with them over the years. That loyalty was just rewarded with a €248 invoice for a flat tire, a problem that existed before my rental even started.
The car I picked up had noticeably low tire pressure, something I’ve encountered repeatedly with their fleet lately. No dashboard warning light appeared at any point, not at engine start, not during the trip. I drove carefully, parked safely, and only then heard the tire deflating. I reported it immediately through their damage form, doing exactly what a responsible customer should do.
Their Claims Department’s response? Full liability on me. Their entire argument rests on a warning light they claim “would have appeared”, a light that never came on, and which they have no evidence ever did. Apparently reporting damage honestly and promptly just makes you the easiest person to bill.
What frustrates me most is that underinflated tires are a recurring issue across their fleet. Instead of addressing a genuine safety problem, one that puts their own customers at risk, they pass the repair costs onto whoever happens to be driving when the inevitable finally happens.
The dismissive tone of their correspondence made it clear they had no interest in reviewing the facts. After four years as a customer, I’m done. There are plenty of alternatives that maintain their vehicles properly and treat customers as more than a billing address.
If you use Free2Move: photograph every tire before you drive, or you may end up paying for their deferred maintenance.
I accidentally left my MacBook Pro in a…
I accidentally left my MacBook Pro in a Free2Move vehicle and reported it within one hour of my rental ending.
The following day, Free2Move customer service informed me that the vehicle had been taken by a Free2Move employee shortly after my rental and that my laptop would be handed over to the municipality's lost and found. This phone call is recorded by Free2Move.
Days passed, and the laptop never appeared.
What disappointed me most was not that I left my laptop behind—it was Free2Move's complete refusal to help. I repeatedly asked them to simply contact the employee who took possession of the vehicle to ask whether the laptop had been found or handed in. I wasn't asking for any confidential information, only for basic cooperation.
Instead, I received the same generic email telling me to wait seven working days and contact the municipality, even though the vehicle remained part of Free2Move's fleet. They also refused my request to notify me when the vehicle became available again so I could rent it myself and check whether the laptop was still inside.
I have now filed a police report.
A company can make mistakes, but what defines good customer service is how it responds. In this case, Free2Move showed no willingness to make even the smallest effort to help recover a valuable item. Unfortunately, this experience has cost them a customer.
One of the worst customer service…
One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had.
I rented a Free2move vehicle that showed over 240 km of remaining range when I picked it up. After driving less than 60 km, the fuel range had mysteriously dropped to around 120 km, and after a 3 km trip to the supermarket it dropped again to 60 km. It was obvious something was wrong with the vehicle's fuel range calculation.
To avoid running out of fuel, I used the "Refuel" option in the Free2move app. The app directed me to a Shell gas station in Eberswalde. During the 6 km drive there, the range indicator rapidly dropped to 0 km. I barely reached the station—only to discover that it was closed and unable to dispense fuel. The app had sent me to a gas station that wasn't operating.
I was stranded with my 6-year-old daughter in the evening in the middle of nowhere. Customer Support knew I had 0 km remaining and that the app had directed me to a closed station. Instead of offering assistance, they told me to drive several more kilometers to another station. When I explained that this was unsafe, they refused to provide any roadside assistance because I was outside Berlin (that's your problem they told me)
In the end, a Good Samaritan helped me by bringing fuel in a canister after I had been waiting for about 45 minutes. Without his help, I would have remained stranded.
After refueling, the vehicle continued showing wildly inconsistent fuel range readings, confirming that something was seriously wrong.
I submitted a detailed complaint with photos and evidence. Free2move acknowledged receiving it but has provided no explanation, accepted no responsibility, and has not reimbursed me for the expenses I incurred because of their failures. Neither the gas that I added.
A company that rents vehicles should ensure they are safe, maintain an app that provides accurate information, and support customers when its own systems fail. Free2move failed on all three.
I will never use this service again but also will escalate this issue.

Threatened to send us to debt collectors for an invoice we paid in full in advance
We used this service on a trip to France. Car was fine at the time of use. We had paid in full before the trip and returned the car with no issues. Then we started getting emails saying we had not paid and owed them full payment. We tried to explain to them that we had in fact paid but these replies were ignored by Free2Move and then they would escalate. We eventually got on the phone with someone and they confirmed that they had found our payment and it was a mistake on their end and they would sort it. They did not. They continued to pester us asking us to pay again and then started threatening to send our account to the debt collectors. We would call again and when we found someone to talk to they would promise to have it fixed. They wouldn't. Between my partner and I we must have received 5+ threats to send us to the debt collectors for a mistake they were making. When we finally finally got someone to stay on the phone and fix it while we were there they then tried to play it off as if the emails were notices of proof of our payment. Lying and gaslighting over their own mistake...
The car and actual product was fine, but the service was astoundingly poor. We have spent longer on our emails trying not be sent to debt collectors than we did in the car itself. I know car rental companies often have a bad reputation and this was probably a rare case, but I would never in good conscience recommend this company and would urge anyone to avoid it. No one else should have to waste so much time because the service a company provides is so dirt poor.
Good and reliable service.
Good and reliable service. The only problem is to

Excellent service
Excellent service. The cheapest as well as very reliable service.
Company lies!!
Company lied to me and asking me to pay money more and they send bills all time. The payment is wrong and have call there several times and always at the phone they promise solve but then email coming and say that I have to pay something what is not my payment. So of shit the company and all cars is dirty and broken. Not never ever again want to use this shit !!!
Once a great app
Once a great app, now it's becoming more and more unusable. The decision to switch to charging stations online instead of the card is probably the worst product decisions they have taken, half the time it suggest charging stations unavailable and the other half fails to start. The mileage prediction in the cars fails constantly forcing me to end up trips earlier than expected to avoid staying without battery in the middle of nowhere because that will be my cost to bear. Any inconvenience directed to customer service is always met with a 5€ voucher and not a shred of understanding. Quite disappointed in what was once a great app
Billed extra
Hired car, paid in full. Returned car without issues. Send extra bill 1 month later with no info why there are any extra charges 😡
Formenty Canet
Formenty Canet, excellent friendly service and camping site return lift is fantastic.
They are a scam!!
They are a scam!!! Don’t use Free to Move. I booked a car online with my chime card. They took the money off my card and refused to refund me my money of $361. They told me they didn’t accept chime and I should have read the terms. I don’t think it’s fair to take the money off of my card, while denying me the rental! They are definitely a scam in disguise!! Doooo nooot rent rent from them. They remind me of Car to go from years ago who just vanished.

Lacking Service and Support in Emergencies
I would not rely on Free2move in an urgent situation.
My car stopped working on the highway due to a malfunction. After contacting customer service, they were unable to arrange a towing service for me, leaving me to handle the situation myself. I obviously was also not allowed to leave the car, so I was just left to my destiny with their own car. I had to find a towing company, decide where the vehicle should be taken, organise everything under stressful circumstances, and pay the costs upfront.
For a car-sharing service, assistance in exactly these situations is one of the most important parts of the service. Unfortunately, the support provided was not sufficient when it actually mattered.
Afterwards, the only compensation offered was a 20€ credit, which does not reflect the time, effort, and stress involved.
I hope Free2move improves their emergency support, because at the moment I would hesitate to depend on the service for situations where reliable assistance is needed.
