Beautiful dinnerware

Purchased 3 sets of dishes. 2 plates were chipped on the bottom. Sent a message to customer service and 2 replacement plates were sent out immediately. Such an easy and polite process. The dishes are beautiful and a great weight.

Ordered the ivory dinner plates and…

Ordered the ivory dinner plates and received a greyish beige colour in the mail. They are refusing to refund me as I don't have the original box (someone in house threw it out by accident). I understand that photography can be different but on every single screen these are a totally different colour than advertised all over their social media and on the website. It's misleading and extremely deceptive to have your photography be SO off. I have never received dinnerware that was a totally different colour than what was pictured on the website and now they are refusing a refund because I don't have the original cardboard box. Also to note that the actual colour of "ivory" in person is really unattractive and I would never have ordered this. It's more than just photography and lighting, it's a total sham. Really awful customer service too - you can get better quality elsewhere I would avoid at all costs.

Never received them.

I ordered these dishes at the end of April. The website stated that they would ship in the middle of May. It is now the middle of June and they’ve not shipped. Customer service keeps saying “any day now” with no results. Given the price point, this should not be the experience.

Great product quality and outstanding customer service

I ordered a 16 piece dinner set and was very impressed with the overall quality of the ceramics. The design and finish feel high quality and carefully made.
One bowl arrived with a small defect, but the customer service handled the situation exceptionally well.
The issue was taken seriously and resolved quickly without any complications.
A replacement was sent immediately and arrived in perfect condition.
This is exactly how customer service should work.
I would definitely order from them again.

I was very happy with the dishwasher…

I was very happy with the dishwasher however there was an issue with two pieces but the team was able to get me replacement pieces so I’m very happy with the resolution.

As long as the dishwasher continues to hold up, then I would say my experience has been very positive and I love the dish set.

A company that cares not only about selling but also about their customers.

I chose Far & Away dinner plates for the second time, and once again I’m absolutely delighted. I love their simple, elegant design and the beautiful matte finish. Unfortunately, one plate from the second delivery arrived with a small chip on the edge. But what can I say — a quick message, a fast and effortless replacement, and truly outstanding customer service! It’s great to see a company that cares not only about selling but also about their customers. Thank you for these wonderful plates and this great experience.

Definitely not chip resistant

I got the full dinnerware set and paid the higher price tag hoping that I would actually get something that would be worth it. Unfortunately today I had my first accident with them where a mug I was washing, slightly slipped from my hand and chipped the plate that was sat underneath it. Meanwhile, my £5 mug was absolutely fine.

Wanted to love these, but…

This is one of those products that I like very much in theory but have struggled to embrace in the realities of daily life. Yes, visually they are visually exquisite but since their arrival I’ve hardly used them, for the following reasons:
1. There is reason why bowls are typically shaped the way they are, with sides that are curved or sloped gently downward/inward to meet a smaller base and that is because of ease of use. These bowls have a very different design, with a large flat base and non- sloping sides which means it is a fiddle to get to the bottom of one’s meal without a great deal of scraping all around the bowl, which brings me to my other point:
2. Eating from stoneware is noticeably noisier than other ceramic materials (accentuated yet more so by the design of the bowls). The handleless cups I like but the bowls and plates do make quite a clatter which I’m not keen on.

I’d add that yes, they do all stack rather nicely, but because they stack on top of each other rather than within each other, what one might gain in a tidier aesthetic amounts to more room being used up; four stacked bowls creates an 8 inch tower!

I wouldn’t recommend purchasing these…

I wouldn’t recommend purchasing these plates — not because of their design, which is lovely, but due to the quality and customer service. The plates are not oven- or microwave-safe, and the mugs quickly develop stains inside from tea and coffee. The first time a plate broke in the oven, we contacted customer service but were told we would not be compensated. This evening, another plate broke in the microwave. Overall, the appearance is beautiful, but the quality and durability need significant improvement.

Bad cutlery and a bad experience

I will start by saying I can’t fault the plates and bowls we received - they’re high quality and the delivery process was smooth.

The cutlery, however, and my experience with customer service since, has been a different story. Firstly, we were allowed to order and only after were we told the cutlery was not actually in stock, and they were unable to provide an estimated time frame for them to come back in stock. In hindsight, we should have insisted on cancelling the order then. Finally the cutlery arrived, and frankly the quality is extremely low. There is no weight to them. More importantly, they rust extremely easily. Now, I anticipate a reply from the company saying that they just require a little extra care and to follow the care guide, to which I would have two points of response; 1. We have been following the care guide, and the problem continues and worsens; and 2. If an item requires that many additional steps to keep it in a usable state then it is not dishwasher safe. Do not purchase this cutlery if you have any interest in not handwashing, and immediately hand drying.

We flagged the issue with the company, whose lacklustre responses have pretty much exclusively consisted of repeatedly forwarding us the care guide. They argue that it does not constitute a defect of a knife rusts after a singular dishwasher run and is therefore outside of their 30 return policy for defective items - I’m inclined to disagree.

Buy the plates and hope you don’t need anything from customer service, and hope that they actually have any to ship, if you’re so inclined. Don’t go near the cutlery with a barge pole.

I ordered in mid April

I ordered in mid April. I was told a week or so later that because of the Trump tariff situation that they would not be able to send to me in the U.S. until end of July and if I was willing to wait they would refund me about 30% of the price. I was fine with that and decided to wait because I really liked the dish set. End of July arrives and I reach out to inquire about order delivery. I was told I would have to wait again until beginning of September. I again agreed to wait. It is now beginning of September and again I inquire about the dishes, I was told I had to wait again until the end of September. At this point, I simply requested a refund, hopefully will be back on my card in a week or so. The dishes seem beautiful from
the pictures, but after almost 5 months of waiting they are not worth it as you can purchase something else just as nice from a different company.
