Scammed

I Feel Completely Scammed by This Company. Avoid!

I would strongly advise anyone considering enrolling with Forus Training to think very carefully before handing over their money.

My experience with this company has been absolutely appalling, and I genuinely feel that I have been scammed.

I paid for a course on 6 September 2026 and attended just ONE three hour class on 16 September. The following day, I contacted Forus to cancel my enrolment due to personal family illness and completed their required cancellation form that was sent to me.

I had not accessed their online learning platform, had not downloaded or used any course materials and had attended just one class.

Despite this, Forus refused to refund my money or even part fund which I would have accepted due to attending the 1st class.

What followed was an incredibly frustrating experience of correspondence, delays and a complete lack of reasonable customer service.

Rather than making any genuine effort to resolve the situation fairly, the company delayed answering my cancellation for 14 days, leading us into THEIR OWN expiry of being able to avail of the cancellation. Nor was I able to give this course to one of my colleagues.

I am a business owner myself, and I find this approach to customer service absolutely extraordinary. There is a world of difference between having reasonable cancellation policies and using those policies to retain a customer's money when they have received only a fraction of the service they paid for.

I rarely feel compelled to leave a review like this, but I would hate for someone else to find themselves in the same position.

My advice? Read every single word of their cancellation policy before paying them a cent. Better still, consider taking your business elsewhere.**

An utterly disappointing experience from a company I would never recommend.

do not purchase courses with these

do not purchase courses with these. they are not obeying irish consumer laws. block from taking money and get charge back via your bank. they will push out the review to cancel beyond the time frame. sign up with other companyies with good reviews , shocking customer services.

thank fully my bank are getting the money back

I am writing to issue a final notice regarding the cancellation of my course enrollment. i have called a few times as well as written to accounts department and filled out the forms immedlatley after i recived them last week, to which you said it was take 5 days its now 7 days.
For the record, the timeline of this transaction is as follows:
Date of Purchase: September 1, 2026
Date of Cancellation Notice: September 7, 2026 (6 days later)
My cancellation was submitted well within the statutory 14-day cooling-off period under Irish and EU law. Furthermore, I have not accessed the online portal, nor have I set up an account to access the course. Therefore, no service has been rendered, and your listed exceptions do not apply.
Your refusal to process a full refund and your attempt to levy a €100 "administration fee" directly violate the Consumer Rights Act 2022. A business cannot charge a penalty fee for a consumer exercising their statutory right to withdraw.
If a full refund is not confirmed by the close of business tomorrow, Wednesday, September 16, 2026, I will take the following immediate actions:
I will lodge a formal complaint with the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) regarding unfair contract terms and breaches of consumer law.
I will provide this email chain to my bank's fraud and dispute department to finalize the Chargeback / Indemnity claim for unauthorised transactions.
I expect a prompt resolution to this matter.

Avoid.!

I recently signed up for a course
Very bad idea!
Totally misleading!!!
They advertise a 14-day cooling-off period, however this is completely voided the moment you access the online training. That means you are not allowed to view the course content to see if it is suitable without losing your right to cancel. This makes the cooling-off period meaningless and misleading
I cannot get a refund, despite several emails
Worse still, they continue to take money from my account
Beware. They are a subscription which is difficult tp stop with the Bank
You have to fill a dispute form 15 days after disputed payment!!!
DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS SCAM

We were told over the phone that the course was cancelled (THEY CANCELLED) we filled out the cancelleation form for our refund which we did not recieve so rang back again they said we didnt fill out the form so did a second form.
Still no refund, then they proceeded to take another 2 payments and are still refusing to refund any money

SCAM

SCAM – AVOID WASTING YOUR MONEY
I recently signed up for a course on this website, but my circumstances changed and I requested to cancel. From the start, they avoided giving a clear answer.
They advertise a 14-day cooling-off period, however this is completely voided the moment you access the online training. That means you are not allowed to view the course content to see if it is suitable without losing your right to cancel. This makes the cooling-off period meaningless and misleading.
How are customers supposed to know whether a course is right for them if they are not allowed to access the material?
I contacted their support team by phone and struggled to get clear information. I then emailed support and received a response from someone named James, after which all communication stopped and my emails were ignored.
I have now contacted the Ombudsman regarding Forus Training, as their practices appear designed to take payment while offering no reasonable refund option or customer protection.
I strongly recommend staying away from this company.

HORIBLE

ok so first of all they made little out of me for doing Leaving cert Applied on the phone saying “if you did the real leaving cert” which infuriated me.

Then i couldn’t even get access to the cours because i had to ring to book an exam for 3 weeks in advance, which i had to cancel due to personal reasons.

Their administration is shocking they take days to respond to emails.

After that i wanted to cancel i contacted someone within the forus training team who said they’ll speak to someone about it. five days after still no response.

then i rang and they sent me a cancellation form they wanted to charge me a 100€ Admin fee for cancellation, so i contacted them said the contract is voidable and that i will take it up with the CCPC if i don’t receive a full refund, i also back charged via my bank.

I would 100% say DO NOT USE FORUS. They’re rude, their administration is slow and they’re just trying to grab money from students.

Everything is money with them

Everything is money with them, very slow to respond and not very helpful. Wasted €450+ and have no certificate at the end of it because they wanted more money constantly for everything.

I completed Major award in Level 5 for Intellectual disability Studies, I can not recommend John Madden enough as I had him for my last 2 or 3 modules, he made me feel at ease and made the online classes fun and easy to understand.
I have passed the modules with merits and distinctions. for a busy mam with 2 young kids and a full time job the option of online learning was the only way for me and never once did I feel under severe pressure. I also had Emma O'Brien and Nancy P for some of my modules which both ladies were also amazing and they definitely are great at what they do and follow up with you after class to make sure that you have full understanding of what was thought.

Didn’t have a great experience

Didn’t have a great experience!
I changed my course a couple of weeks in which I had to pay another fee which I understood. My idea of a self pace course would be that I could do it in my own time. I was 80% through the course and had to stop for a few weeks as my little boy was sick. When I logged back in I was told my time was up. Was told I could have an extension but would also have to pay another fee. Definitely not self pace!!!!

DO NOT DO A COURSE WITH FORUS TRAINING!!

I am completely unsatisfied with the Special Needs Assisting course in levels 5&6 that they offer. The price that they are charging for little to no support is absolutely ridiculous! I have listed my complaints below.

Our first trainer couldn’t even reply to our emails about our assignments and continuously showed up late for class. This resulted in the whole class needing extensions due to the poor lack of organisation that Forus and this member of staff had. This meant our course finished much later than we were initially thought as didn’t get our assignment results until later.

Second of all. I submitted my drafts to them where I received no response for weeks. I then had to follow up 2 weeks later and ask when I should expect to receive my feedback from the drafts I had earlier submitted and yet again got no response. I then had to contact them a THIRD TIME another week later as I was not receiving any response or draft feedback. I finally received my feedback a week later from my 3rd follow up email. My assignments were due in less than 2 days giving me no time whatsoever to make any changes to my work. I think that it’s absolutely outrageous that they were given almost a month to give me feedback, I had to follow up three times and then was given a day and a half to upload my final work!

Nobody should be wasting almost €700 on a course with Forus Training if this is how they treat their students. I don’t understand what I paid almost €700 for!!

Very easy follow instructions, some one always on the phone or online to help you, by far the best company to train with, absolutely outstanding staff, my last tutor Karen was excellent so kind caring and understanding and any worries or stresses she eased them... I recieved a distinction so that speaks volumes on how amazing she is as a tutor... I won't train anywhere else
