Terrible customer service experience

I was moving house and when my partner called to change address, she was told that Greyhound did not service the area that we were moving to. She was told that the cancellation fee would be waivered as it was not possible to carry over the service.

Then there was an unauthorised deduction from my bank account of €67.76. I called to query it and the girl apologised and put me on hold to speak to her manager. She came back and confirmed once again that I should not have been charged and the money would be returned.

Then a couple of days later, another girl called and told me that cancellation fee would not be wavered and the fee stands and only the difference would be returned. Very dishonest to be be told twice it would not be charged and then taken anyway. I still have not even been returned the difference in the cancellation fee and the extra money taken.

Formal Complaint Regarding Greyhound Bin Truck Driver Conduct

Dear Greyhound Customer Service,

I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding the behaviour of one of your bin truck drivers on 26/07/2026 at approximately 8.20am

The driver had stopped his vehicle in a way that completely blocked the road. There was ample space behind the truck for him to reverse and allow traffic to pass safely. I politely asked if he would mind reversing a short distance, but he refused.

When I asked again, he responded by telling me to "fu*k off." As I did not have much room to reverse safely myself, I remained in my car. The driver then became increasingly aggressive, shouting at me to reverse and repeatedly calling me a "stupid bi*ch."

I was shocked by both his refusal to cooperate and, more importantly, his abusive and unprofessional behaviour. There is absolutely no justification for speaking to a member of the public in this manner.

I have attached a photograph of the vehicle involved. The registration appears to be 182-D-20356, and the truck is branded Greyhound.

I would appreciate it if you could investigate this incident and advise me of the outcome. I trust Greyhound expects its employees to treat members of the public with respect and professionalism, and I hope appropriate action will be taken.

I look forward to your response.

Yours sincerely,
Kinga K

Shocking service

Shocking service. Based in Stoneybatter and we were forced to move from bags to caddy bins. Though bag service always consistent, for past three out of four weeks, various collections have been missed, completely inconsistent. And when bins emptied I've found them either going halfway down the street or left on public road. Brutal service

A disgrace of a company

A disgrace of a company, the customer service should be ashamed to even use the word "service" in their title. I hope they are paid well to lie to customers on a daily basis, which I very much doubt.
From the management down this company is rotten.

Missed bin collections numerous times.
Then try to charge you then for their inadequate service which you’ve already paid for.

Awful customer service agents who have little command of the English language or empathy at that. Just hang up the phone for no reason because they are idiots.

Go to city bin instead.

I have never been so poorly treated as…

I have never been so poorly treated as a costumer. Since hiring greyhound they missed more bins than collected them. When I called to customer service they blame on me for not putting the bins out, which is a lie, rather than admitting their mistakes. They are rude on the phone and do all their communications via phone so you have nothing on record to complain when they miss once again your bin collection next week. After calling more than 6 times to complain and try to sort the issue, they keep blaming me, the costumer, for their bad service and make it extra complicated every time I tried to cancel my account. I am writing here because I am tired of them dismissing me over the phone and refusing to say anything on record or give me any refund.

We're sorry if this wasn't explained clearly during your previous contacts with us. We always aim to provide courteous and helpful service, and we're disappointed to hear you were unhappy with your experience.

Hi John, we’re really sorry to hear about this. That’s not the standard of care or professionalism we expect from our team. Any spill should always be cleaned up as part of the collection process.

We’ll be raising this with the local operations team to review what happened and ensure it’s addressed. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Truly awful company to deal with

Truly awful company to deal with. All customer service seems to be based out of India and impossible to understand what is being said. I've been goaded into arguments over nonsense on 2 occasions with Indian men and have given up trying to resolve problems. Truly awful experience

Would give 0 Stars if I could

Would give 0 Stars if I could.
I have to close my account due to moving house and bringing our bins with us was not an option due to where we’re moving to. Closing the account has been an absolute nightmare.
We needed our bins emptied before they were removed from the property, greyhound thinks it’s acceptable to message the morning of a bin collection to say the bins are being emptied that day? I rang to say this is ridiculous i obviously don’t have the bins out and I am not home. I arranged for the bins to be collected 2 days later on the Saturday, bins were left out Friday night, sat there all day and no one arrived to collect. Also didn’t receive any communication to say the bins were being emptied so I’m highly doubtful this was correctly scheduled at all. I rang to complain that the bins were not emptied and was told “they couldn’t be located”, funny how they were left where they are always left and for the previous 56+ weeks there’s never been an issue with the bins being collected, but when it’s needed because I’m closing the account suddenly the bins “couldn’t be located”. The customer service agent I spoke to Monday was terrible. Zero consideration for this situation and the stress it’s putting me under. I’m being told the bins can’t be emptied until Thursday, and they won’t be removed until 3-5 business days later. I will no longer live at the address and greyhound has suggested I just leave the bins out for removal? Yet if there’s any waste in the bins I don’t doubt they’ll refuse to collect them on that basis. Despite leaving them out for god knows how many days being their guidance. And if something were to happen to the bins while they were left out I’m sure they’d hold me responsible. This has been the worst customer service experience and I’m extremely regretful I ever gave them business. I strongly advise anyone to stay away and I will never return as a customer. If the process had been handled differently this would have been very different.

Hi Sarah, we’re really sorry to hear about your experience and the frustration caused while trying to close your account.

Bin removals do need to follow scheduled collection routes, which can sometimes affect the timing of final collections and removals. That said, we completely understand how important it is to have clear communication and reliable scheduling when you’re trying to leave a property, and it’s disappointing to hear that this wasn’t your experience.

Please contact us at info@greyhound.ie or via live chat at greyhound.ie with your account details so we can look into this for you and assist in getting the matter resolved as quickly as possible.

Sometimes collections can be missed due to access issues, route disruptions etc but this is something we would need to check on your account to understand exactly what happened.
