I have been a customer for many years

I have been a customer for many years. The recent changes have been too much. My next order will be my last. I hate that ingredients are not packed together for each recipe (if you don't want to use plastic, use paper), unavailability of so many things (this is like the pandemic). Last minute recipe exchanges. No recipe cards in the order (I know I can look online, but I like the card getting food splatters and not my phone). This makes me very sad.

Absolutely a mess

Absolutely a mess. I tried to order and there were 3 options. Second week in a row delivery has been late by a whole day and been sitting on a truck in 99 degree weather. Food is mediocre at best but more expensive than Home Chef. Customer service is zero help. If I had an issue at other delivery services they refund immediately! Do not order from here.

Consistently missing or incorrect food…

Consistently missing or incorrect food items, boxes not securely taped shut (letting the cool air out in the Las Vegas heat). I feel like I was on a first name basis with customer service since I was always having to report soothing wrong with our orders. Lately they have just been canceling complete orders without notice the day before you are scheduled to get them. Not great service when you are depending on that food coming.

No Refund for Unusable Package

Previously used their service with no issues. Left and returned and our first box was delivered a day late with a leaking ice bag, leaking warm packages of chicken, and damaged produce, all covered in goo and completely unusable. Four frustrating emails with (AI) customer service later, and my BA account was credited, rather than the refund I requested. As I won't be using the service again, a credit does not work for me.

Great product undergoing challenges.

We (retired couple) have used Blue Apron for 5+ years and enjoy it. We will wait out the current (8/26) challenges as they bring a new supply chain online. We have learned to expand our tastes and like the convenience of the kits. Never had problem until thismonth when some supplies were missing. Quality has always been very good and we hope they get kinks sorted out soon.

Five weeks of problems — I can no longer rely on Blue Apron

I genuinely wanted to remain a Blue Apron customer, but after approximately five straight weeks of problems, I am seriously considering canceling.

This is not one missing ingredient. Nearly every recent order has had significant issues.

One order had problems with ALL FOUR meals: potatoes and an egg were missing from the meatloaf, tortillas and corn were missing from the tostadas, Sweety Drop peppers were missing from the Greek chicken bowls, labneh was substituted with sour cream, and soy sauce was sent instead of soy glaze. Sending a tostada meal without tortillas is honestly unbelievable.

The following week was worse. I specifically ordered meals for FOUR PEOPLE because I had guests and was relying on Blue Apron for dinner. The box arrived missing TWO ENTIRE PACKS OF CHICKEN, the risotto, and corn. These weren't optional toppings—they were primary components of the meals. I received several emails from Blue Apron about comparatively minor ingredient substitutions that week, yet somehow there was no warning that two packs of chicken would simply be missing.

Then, five days before my next delivery, Blue Apron informed me that FOUR of the recipes I selected were unavailable due to inventory constraints. Their email said the order wouldn't be processed unless I took action. I didn't make changes, yet I later received a notification saying the order was delayed/rescheduled rather than canceled.

Customer service has repeatedly responded by adding credits to my Blue Apron account. After five weeks, I don't want more credits. Credits force me to continue ordering from a company that has repeatedly failed to provide the complete meals I paid for.

The entire reason to pay for a meal-kit service is convenience and reliability. I shouldn't have to go grocery shopping for chicken, risotto, tortillas, eggs, potatoes, corn and other missing ingredients just to make the meals I've already paid for.

I've now requested refunds to my original payment method and filed a BBB complaint. I gave Blue Apron multiple opportunities to fix this because I wanted to remain a customer, but five weeks of repeated fulfillment problems is unacceptable.

I would rate it zero stars if I could

I would rate it zero stars if I could. Blue Apron is a hot mess. Orders are not fulfilled or meals sent with missing items. One box actually came with a packet of soy sauce & a packet of parm. That's it.
And they only want to credit your account for future orders. I had to make multiple requests for refunds that were charge on my card & not fulfilled. One agent actually emailed & assumed that the charges were not made. When I disputed that, the next email included the notification of credits to be made to my card.
You can't talk to a human being. Their phone center is closed.
Do not order from them.

12-year Blue Apron customer — this was finally our breaking point

My husband and I have been Blue Apron customers since 2014, and I also paid for an annual Blue Apron+ membership. After watching quality and reliability decline, our August 11 delivery was finally our breaking point.

We selected five recipes. One was canceled before delivery and multiple ingredients were substituted. When the box arrived, only one protein was included, along with numerous other missing ingredients. Not a single recipe had everything required to prepare it. The entire delivery was unusable.

Worse, both potatoes and mushrooms were marked “Use By 08/07/26” despite being delivered August 11.

After delivery, Blue Apron continued sending emails with additional cancellations, changes and refunds. They even sent an “important update” saying our potatoes had arrived in a mesh bag with a metal clasp and required different preparation instructions. They hadn’t—the potatoes we actually received were packaged in a plastic microwaveable steam bag.

The fulfillment failure is bad enough. The complete lack of customer service has been worse.

I contacted Blue Apron via text August 11. An AI agent transferred me to a human and warned of unusually high wait times. Nobody responded. I followed up the next day requesting a refund. Nothing.

I then emailed a detailed explanation and requested a full refund to my original payment method. I received only an automated response saying they were experiencing higher-than-normal volume. I followed up via text again. As of August 16, I have received no substantive response from anyone at Blue Apron.

The silence was so complete that I genuinely wondered whether Blue Apron had ceased operations without notice.

Blue Apron eventually sent customers a mass email acknowledging that its transition to a new fulfillment partner “has not gone smoothly,” that customers have received missing and unexpected items, and that “We’ve broken your trust.” They cannot currently provide a timeline for when service will normalize.

That email should have gone out much earlier. Customers deserved the opportunity to skip deliveries while Blue Apron knew it was experiencing serious problems.

Equally troubling, their email doesn’t acknowledge their overwhelmed and effectively nonresponsive customer service at all. That’s now one of the primary problems. Fulfillment mistakes happen. When they do, customers must be able to reach the company that took their money.

After approximately 12 years, we’ve skipped all upcoming orders and canceled Blue Apron+. I’m now disputing the remaining charge for this unusable delivery and will ask my card issuer about the unused portion of my prepaid annual Plus membership.

Had Blue Apron promptly acknowledged the problem, refunded the order and communicated honestly, I probably would have given them time to recover. Their prolonged inability to respond has damaged my trust more than the original fulfillment failure.

We genuinely loved Blue Apron for many years. Unfortunately, after this experience, I don’t know what they could do to rebuild enough trust for us to order again.

BlueApron is failing spectacularly right now - delayed orders, meal kits mixed together, missing key ingredients, no recipe cards, customer service inaccessible and offline!

We have been using BlueApron for the better part of a decade, loyally receiving box after box and loving the variety of foods, the unique ingredients, the atypical home cooking slump. It appears that company has died long ago. Recipes have become repetitive, fresh herbs are nearly never an option, the meat portions and quality have shrunken. Regularly the orders are sent missing the recipe cards or they send the wrong one entirely. Occasionally they'd miss a minor ingredient here or there but they were always quick to credit the account or give a refund. Well that ended this week. It seems that they outsourced all order fulfillment to a company called FreshRealm, that went bankrupt in April 2026. As a result Misfit Markets, who has a completely different business model other than shipping boxes of food, has been given the daunting task of becoming a fulfillment partner as a result of the bankruptcy. I don't believe Misfit Markets is taking over yet, and this is just Fresh Realm laying off employees. But the orders that shipped this week from De Soto TX were a complete mess. They no longer sort the kits into bags, everything is loose in the box, the trays are flipped sideways so meat juice is swirling around everywhere because we all know these boxes are flipped every other way in delivery. This week reports are popping up all over social media Reddit, Facebook, Instragram, Twitter about people who are receiving partial boxes. People are being sent nothing but condiments, almost all are missing at least some meat, vegetables are spotty at best, some people even report getting a box with nothing but an ice packet and no food. Not sure what is going on but the future looks dim. To top it off, the complaint lines are fully unavailable, phone recordings just tell you they are closed even during normal hours, and then it hangs up, no option to leave a message. The text line is fully non-responsive. This feels like they are literally robbing people and giving them no option other than disputing with their credit card companies. Shame on Blue Apron, I am shocked at how quickly this all went south and nobody is communicating the issues to the impacted customers. Just stunning how many failures are happening all at once.

We had loved their meals but recently…

We had loved their meals but recently we haven’t received one box that has enough ingredients to make even a single meal. This week we got a package of shrimp and two limes. This was supposed to be the ingredients for 4 full dinners and they have literally closed their phones lines so you can’t get any help

Blue Apron is a mess now

Blue Apron is a mess now. I have been a customer for over a decade. They have always been good. If there were ever any issues such as missing ingredients, I could call and speak to a person immediately for resolution. This week's box arrived with half the ingredients missing. I've been calling support for two days during normal business hours and all I get is a message saying "phones are down". I tried their AI chat bot. That was useless. They said they would put me in touch with a human, but that was hours ago. I tried online form submission. I received an email saying they got my form but who knows when they'll respond to that. I can't get any assistance at all

10 yr Customer has had enough!

My wife and I have been a customer of Blue Apron for going on 10 yrs. The food has always been excellent and customer service the same. We got notified 3 weeks ago that they were changing up their order processing. Since then, we have had nothing but problems. Missing ingredients in every order and have to go buy what we needed. Customer service is also very poor now. I’m not sure what they did, but we are about to cancel due to having issues with every order now.

My experience with Blue Apron was a joke

My experience with Blue Apron was a joke. I had a question while making my first order and requested assistance through their text message service. I was transferred to someone to give me immediate help and was left with an unresponsive system for the next five hours before somebody finally came on and said joyfully that he was here to help me today. Unbelievable. I was stupid enough to go ahead and place an order. and ignore the red flag, but it was a mistake. I was supposed to get my order yesterday, Monday, August 10, and after waiting most of the day received a message from FedEx and from Blue Apron, that my box had been delayed and would not arrive for another two days. I will be making sure that I get a refund for this order and I have moved on and placed an order with Home Chef. When I sent a message to their customer service about my experience, of course it seemed appropriate when I received a message back immediately, which stated that it may be a few days before they will have time to get back to me. I would never order again from such a disorganized company. They seem to be excellent at filling my inbox and my Internet experience with their nonstop ads but but more than lacking as a company I want to do business with in the future.
Just a follow up to the above situation. It is Wednesday and I have still not received my order that was supposed to arrive on Monday, but I did start to receive unbelievable texts from Blue Apron. Although the food is going to arrive late, they’re still sending text telling me I’m getting credit for partial absences from my meals. For instance, we ordered a prosciutto focaccia sandwich and we first received an email that they were out of the mozzarella cheese so they would give me a 7 dollar credit for that. The next email a few seconds later said that they were also out of the focaccia rolls, but not to worry, they would be giving me another 9 dollars off for that. So now I still have the sandwich coming, but without the cheese and without the bread. I kid you not, they are trying to charge for the rest of the meal, even though they had no bread and no cheese. I will be pursuing a full refund and I will certainly never ever order from Blue Apron again. All I received, for my efforts was a bucket full of frustration and a box full of spoiled food that I will have to throw away along with an accounting problem with the company that will probably take some effort to resolve. Move on and do not purchase from Blue Apron unless you enjoy complete and utter chaos.

Not great

We tried HelloFresh for two years. We loved it but the boxes just kept being delivered to the wrong address - it happened over 10 times. We finally canceled. I tried making my own meals for a while but I missed the convenience of a meal kit delivery service so we tried Blue Apron. I didn’t like the food prep - way more dirty dishes and everything took longer than with HelloFresh, but the food was good. The portion sizes were smaller, too. We got the wrong knickknack bags several times and then once the delivery didn’t show up at all. This all happened within a fairly short time period. So we canceled.

Very poor customer comunication.

Great food but customer communication is poor. Don't bother emailing them they wont respond. On Mon. July 27th our food box never arrived. No notification or communication of any kind. No tracking available. We waited and ended up going out to dinner. I would give them a 4-5 star if they just communicated to the customers better. I think someone should start looking for a new job.

Disappointed with the freshness

I was really let down by my last Blue Apron delivery. While I expected fresh ingredients, a few of the veggies were already starting to wilt by the time they arrived. I had to toss some of the greens, which was frustrating because I planned meals around them. The flavors were good, but it’s tough to enjoy a dish when you're worried about the quality of the food. The recipes themselves were easy to follow and fun to cook, but I just can't overlook the freshness issue this time.

Fulfillment roulette - you never know what you're going to get

**A year of recurring fulfillment problems has made Blue Apron unreliable**
I have been a Blue Apron customer for some time and generally like the recipes, but for roughly the past year, fulfillment and packing errors have occurred on and off with increasing regularity.
The problems have included missing ingredients, incorrect ingredient kits, wrong proteins, and incomplete meals. At various points I have had to change dinner plans, make last-minute grocery-store trips, and spend additional money replacing ingredients that should have been included.
The most recent examples have been especially bad. In one order, I received the steaks for a Brown Butter Steak meal but the ingredient kit for Crisp Pork Schnitzel. After I reported the recurring pattern, Blue Apron credited only that one meal.
Then, in my July 20 order, only one of four meals was packed correctly:
* Big Bang Chicken came with whole chicken breasts instead of the required chicken pieces.
* Pesto Salmon Grain Bowls came with chicken breasts instead of salmon.
* The Wagyu Cheeseburger meal included the hamburger meat, but the entire bag of accompanying ingredients was missing.
What makes this so frustrating is that these are not isolated mistakes from one bad week. This has been an on-again, off-again problem for approximately a year. Each incident requires the customer to identify the error, document it, contact support, rearrange meals, and often buy replacement food.
A meal-kit company must be able to consistently provide the correct proteins and complete ingredient kits. Blue Apron’s recipes may be appealing, but the service loses its value when fulfillment is this unreliable.
After a year of recurring problems and inadequate responses, I can no longer recommend Blue Apron.

Meal delivery that CANT deliver

Week after week there are missed deliveries or wrong items being sent

Last week I ordered a chicken dish and they sent pork. I don’t eat pork

This week I ordered chicken thighs and they sent shrimp without any communication

This is just two of the most recent

Can’t do the one job they’re supposed to do

Failed to deliver

First time user here. I ordered two sets of prepared meal from Blue Apron for my parents. That was 4 days ago, and the delivery date was confirmed to be today. At 9:00pm EST, I found out from my mother, who I had told not to cook today, that the awaited food did not arrive. I tracked the order and it says it is ready but not even out for delivery!

I am embarassed and furious.

This is not a furniture delivery delay, this is a meal that someone is waiting to eat. If I could give this company a "0" I would.

Stop changing meat selection to chicken pieces with no notice

My past experience with Blue Apron was great. But now they have lowered the window time to review recipes to just two weeks. You’d think that would have tightened up their supply ordering? Not so! In the last month I’ve had two seafood orders switched unannounced to cheap chicken pieces. When I complained the first time I was told I would have to keep monitoring my orders to check the ingredients to catch if a change was made. So I monitored after that. All looked good and I checked again today and my seafood choice was changed with no alert or heads up to cheap chicken pieces again. So I went to change my order but it’s too late now! For the same price I get something I don’t want because their supply ran short. If this happens once more I’m done. Blue Apron used to send an email about any ingredient change in advance and it was always a minor change. Maybe soy glaze instead of soy sauce. But never a complete meat grouping change with zero notice.
