My wife and I used Bordr when we decided to start our entrepreneurial journey in Portugal, and our experience has been excellent from start to finish.
Our first step was obtaining a NIF number, which is essential when setting up a business in Portugal. Through Bordr, the entire process was straightforward, transparent, and easy to follow. Everything was completed within the agreed timeframe, and we felt well-informed throughout the process. That first experience immediately gave us confidence in their service.
About a year later, I received a notification that our fiscal representation would soon be renewed. Bordr informed us well in advance about the upcoming renewal and any associated costs. Unauthorized Charges After Written Cancellation & Revocation of Representation
I am writing this to warn other consumers about dishonest billing practices. This company is engaging in unauthorized billing after receiving multiple explicit, written notices of cancellation.
Here are the facts of my experience:
Revocation of Authority: I formally cancelled my service and removed this company as my representative in writing. Despite having no legal or contractual authority to continue, they processed an unauthorized charge of $150.
Ongoing Predatory Billing: Following the initial unauthorized charge, they have attempted to bill my card again, entirely against my express consent.
Refusal to Resolve: When contacted to correct these errors, customer service refused to cooperate. They spend their energy disputing clear written records rather than resolving the billing issue.
I have filed formal complaint with FTC Fraud Unit. I paid last August 2025, I was billed $150 and then I get noticed today they will bill me again after I had them removed as fiscal representatives. This is outright fraud!

We understand you previously expressed your intent to cancel your fiscal representation. However, intent to cancel is different from official removal of your fiscal representation and the cancellation of the subscription.
When we got the NIF for you, our partner lawyers had to be appointed your fiscal representative as required by the Portuguese Tax Authority. Until you officially remove them in the Portuguese Tax Authority’s records, they continue to serve in this role and the annual fiscal representation fee continues to apply.
For that reason, cancellation requires proof that our partner lawyers have been removed from your Portuguese Tax Authority records. This is usually an updated NIF document or Certificate of Tax Residence that no longer lists them as your fiscal representative.
We sent 5 renewal reminder emails leading up to the renewal date so there would be time to complete the cancellation process. We also personally shared the cancellation instructions and offered to process a refund once the process was completed and proof of removal was provided. Our team has always been available to walk you through the process.
Unfortunately, we did not receive any response nor proof that our partner lawyers had been removed. Without that proof, we could not finalize the cancellation.
If you’ve already officially removed our partner lawyers as your fiscal representative, please share with us the updated NIF document or Certidão showing they are no longer listed. Once verified, we’ll cancel the subscription and process the refund. Please rest assured that we're here to help sort this out for you.
