Virgin Media Removed Scheduled Internet Blocking
After the latest update, my Virgin Media router no longer supports scheduled internet blocking. I have three children, and this is a serious problem for our family.
The parental controls were already far from perfect. There was no proper flexibility to set a later internet cut-off time for older children and an earlier one for a younger child. But at least scheduled blocking existed and did the basic job. Now Virgin Media has simply removed even that functionality.
At a time when schools and professionals constantly remind parents how important it is to limit children's screen time and manage their internet use, Virgin Media somehow decided that removing a useful parental-control feature was a good idea.
Instead of improving it and allowing separate schedules for different devices or children, they have made the service worse.
I do not want more useless “updates” that remove useful functionality. I want Virgin Media to restore scheduled internet access controls and make them flexible enough to set different schedules for different children and devices.
Removing useful features while continuing to increase prices is not an improvement. It is a step backwards.
