Another Useless Department of Government

For years now the Gambling commission in the UK has been utterly useless to punters when involved with disputes with bookmakers.

I'm sorry to say, the newly formed Gambling Regulatory of Ireland is most likely going to be doing exactly the same.

When I wrote to them to tell them how 888Sport has locked me out of my account, and is now refusing to engage with me to get my money back, all I got back was a load of links to nonsense and a steadfast refusal to assist in any way.

So now these bookmakers who have been ripping of customers in the UK for years, now have carte blanche to o the same in Ireland.

I honestly don't know where to start…

I honestly don't know where to start with this company, they are a symbol of everything bad in gambling today, and if I was teaching a course in customer support they would be the example of what NOT to do.

A month ago they sent me a notice saying that I was abusing bonuses. When asked to provide examples of this, they went strangely silent.

New gambling legislation came into play in Ireland recently. Every other company I've dealt with, this was a seamless process to comply, but it's a different story with 888.

I was through to their live chat on Thursday and they refused to tell me why it was taking so long. Apparently two documents, was not enough. Funny how no other company that I've been with for a long period, asked me for more than one, and mostly that was because I received a new Revolut card, and as soon as I sent them the details, everything was fine.

Anyway, long story short, I contacted them again this morning, and was told about the 3rd document. When I asked them why I wasn't told this before now, the agent said I was emailed on August 11th. I've since went through my email account very carefully, and somehow I can't find it.

SO in frustration, I told the agent, I would send the document, withdraw my money and THEN close the account. Two minutes later I was locked out of my account, and with a message claiming I had requested this. That was another lie.

Anyway, I emailed them the bank statement. IF they think I'm going to just walk away and let them keep MY money, they are so very wrong. I've also reported them to the new Irish Gambling Commission.I have also informed them of this.

Review of GGPoker - World’s Biggest Poker Room

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Monolopies are not good for the customer.

GG Poker is the epitome of what happens when there is no viable alternative. GG Poker does not just want to provide a service and make a profit for it. GG wants to take you for every last penny it can.

Firstly, the rake is extortionate. The amount of sessions I've come off GG after winning and still been down money is laughable. And then when you have a close decision to make amd need a few extra seconds to tthink about it, well GG charges you for that as well.

Also, there's been a tradition on online poker for not to charge a rake for pots that don't see a flop. Not GG though, they'll charge you if you 3 bet and win a flop without seeing a flop.

And then, if you want to withdraw your own money, well, GG will take another bite out of that withdrawal too.

I really do hope another company comes along and blows them out of the water. They deserve it.

Haha, shouldn't have bothered. As Ralph Pearson said above, any time they "revamp" it, they just make it worse.
I'd recommend Predictology if you don't like money.

Money taken without permission.

Yesterday I got a message that my Prime membership had started on Prime.ie. Problem was I hadn't ordered Prime, Amazon just decided to go to my revolut card, take 6.99 and inform me afterwards.

Thing is, this is not the first time its hapenned either. Amazon.co.uk. did exactly the same thing a few months ago. Once is a mistake, two is a pattern in my humble opinion. Then to top it off I have to wait 3 to 5 days to get my refund and when I get it it will be 6.78 instead of 6.99. Now the 21 cents means nothing but its just another annoyance.

Amazon, has twice taken money from an account of mine without my permission. If I'd have been on a tight budget and had a direct debit due i would have been charged for not having sufficient funds by the bank and late fees by the company.

I would urge everyone to check their accounts regularly. If your phone is like mine and you get lots of messages everyday it would be very easy to miss.

Withdrawal Should not be this hard

I set up a BIA account a few years ago, deposited some money, bet away not really winning or losing much. For the last few months I have barely bet with them so thought I'd withdraw my 115 euro yesterday.

First I was asked to confirm my identity by sending them a bank statement, which I did. I was then told I could proceed with the withdrawal, so I tried to withdraw to my bank. As I did, I received no notice that the withdrawal was unsuccesful. There was an email that said Hello ******, no content, then kind regards.

Thinking this must be some automated email, I ignored it.

So today, I contacted them to be told that because I had depostited with Skrill, I must now withdraw with Skrill. It was 100 euros and it was annoying, but what can you do?

Then no matter how many times I tried to withdraw it led me to a page saying I could only have one tab open, even though I only had one tab open. So I was advised to delete all my browsing data and try it incognito. OF course that didn't work either.

So I was told to use a different device, and hey presto it worked.

Withdrawing money, especially the paltry sum I was withdrawing should not be this hard. I would advise ANYONE, be they a big bettor or a little bettor like me, to only deposit as you need to.

Also, I wouldn't be taking any sign up offers. The rollovers take a lot of time if you're a recreational punter like me.

Fantastic Service

BB is an absolutely fantastic service for anyone who wants to make a profit betting. As one reviewer says below, there's two strands to this service, the one that tells you where the value bets are, and the service that helps you find value bets using tools and calculators.

I've been a member for about a year, and the three sports I've focused on are Football, Golf and Racing. I love football, I like racing, but I'm not the biggest golf fan on earth to put it mildly. I mean, I don't hate it, but outside the majors and the Ryder cup, I really don't get excited about it.

And of course as luck (variance) would have it, Golf has been by far my most profitable sport this year! I might be able to kid myself I could do turn a profit on football without BB, but there is not a chance in hell I could have made money on golf without BB.

In fact, so good was the run this year, I'm dreading next year, because it simply can't go on at this rate.

Racing and football were okay for me on BB, profitbale, and I also did extremely well on a handful of Rugby and American football bets I did. There's two sports I really do not like, but a 10 to 20% edge is the same on sports you don't like as the ones you do! (I try to do bets at 10% or better, but I will go as low as 7% on ocassion, if I like the bet myself as wel, but no futher).

One thing football on BB taught me was how much margin bookmakers take on props. I mean, I always knew most of the prop bets were negative EV, but I was shocked to learn just how much. Really, Jesse James would have been ashamed of the daylight robbery some of these prices are.

I'm not a big punter either, Most of my bets would be between 5 and 20 euros, but I do a lot of bets to get the volume in.

I was going to post this review using my full name, but then I thought I didn't want any bookies using it to gub me. You can ask me a question on X, @BusbytheGOAT (I did try to leave my email address, but Trust Pilot won't let me), but really, you'd be better off contacting Tom Brownlee on X.

The challenge for me next year is getting more acquainted with the find your own EV bets part of the service. And I'll be contacting BB for some assistance with it. I haven't had to contact them much, but Tom and Duncan are always friendly, polite and willing to help when I have.

Great Customer Service

I had a minor issue with something on the Matchbook Site today, so I contacted them, and it was sorted in the time it would take to drink a cup of coffee.

As someone who deals with a lot of similar company's in betting, this is almost a unique experience. As the title said, great (and surprisingly fast) customer service.

Special thanks to Conor for sorting this issue for me so well.

Review of Predictology

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I've been contemplating writing this…

I've been contemplating writing this review for months now, but something held me back. But today is the last straw. If you value your financial health do not buy products from this company.

It is by far the worst experience I've ever had with a company that I've paid for a service in this game (Gambling). I must have spent 1200 to 1500 euro on products from this company (more fool me for continuing to buy) over the last 3 years, and I'd have gotten more from simply burning the money (at least the heat would have kept me warm).

First the Value bets tool. Except it's not a value bets tool. 70,000 recorded bets I've registered now. If I'd bet on every one of them at the advised prices I'd be 3% down. I accept variance happens, but I'm almost certain these bets are not value bets. And over the last 6 months or so, they've gotten a lot worse than 3% down. More like 8 to 10%.

Now imagine I'd bought a cow from you. Let's say 100 quid. Great deal all around. But when you go to milk it, there's not much comes out. Not to worry, if you send me another 1000 euros, I'll show you how I did it. I should have seen that warning sign, when predictology wanted to sell me these systems, for a product that shouldn't need systems, just bets. They haven't tried to sell them for a while now btw, and the few free ones that were advised soon went south too.

Then I buy different systems (from a previous product, not the value bets tool), which I'm told have produced profits in 8 from ten years. Yes, but when I open up that system the 8 profitable years were between 2012 and 2022. The last two seasons have been atrocious. Yes, technically it's correct, but well, that car you bought was good for ten years too.... 25 years ago.....You should do your own research btw, never mind that you've paid for something that's supposed to negate the need to do that.

Then there's the bet tracker which will helpfully track your bets for you and show you which systems, strategies might work. Except the bloody thing is not working most of the time. And when it does, it still takes an eternity to load.

We used to have a channel on Discord where we could meet to discuss the various problems on the site. But that got shut down too. I'll leave you to surmise why.

If you write to complain you will get a courteous reply, but if you're not happy with the first answer and say so, well, that's just tough luck, most of the time.

And when all this is going on, you'll be bombarded every day with some new product that is absolutely killing it, and will make you great profits if you just sign up.

Well, needless to say, I won't be signing up. I did another review for a company on here that does Horse racing, which is a fantastic product and the company works all the time on the product they have, to make sure it works well, and improves to keep up with the competition.

This is the complete opposite of this. All this company wants is your money. Don't give it to them is my advice.

EDIT: So 2 months on from the date I posted this review, and has anything been fixed? No.

The Bet Tracker is even more useless. You'd think you could go in, punch in a few filters and get the result. Lol, NO. If you put the filters in for the last few months, you'll get the figures. Then if you want more, you have to work your way back, a month or two at a time, walk the dog while you're waiting (slight exaggeration, but only slight), and when you come back the figures might be there. Up to a point.

Just now I tried to get results for home and away wins for the last two years. I might get them if I was willing to grow a beard while doing so.

And the Value bet builder is still losing its usual 2-3 % a month. But hey, this company is still coming up with new products by the week, that if you buy, you'll print money using them.

I really wish I could post screenshots in these reviews, but hey, not to be.

5 star Geegeez

Someone I left a negative review on a few days ao hinted that I only leave negative reviews on here, and they were right. Well, this is the exact opposite.
I've been with Geegeez for close to two years. It's a perfect site for someone like me who wants to bet on horses, but doesn't have time to study it properly (IT might even be a great site for people who study professionally, but I can only speak for myself.)
I'm still learning about the site two years in, as there is so much to cover. It wasn't until last August that I really started using the Query Tool seriously. Oh how I wish I'd done it before that.
You can basically find out almost anything on this.
Do you want to know the best sire to follow at Fontwell? OR the best draw in sprints at Ascot? Does it change depending on the ground? OR the trainer with the best returns at Salisbury etc etc?
Well, you can find it here and so much more.
Also, the customer service is brilliant. Any time I email Matt with a question (Sometimes my questions are really dumb in hindsight:) ), Matt replies to me with 24 hours without fail.
Geegeez is phenomenal and well worth the 7 or 8 quid a week it costs. Can't recommend highly enough.

I'm very pleased to hear you're enjoying your membership so - and always happy to help point in the right direction as and when needed.

Blocked for suggesting a standard practice.

On twitter he was slagging me off for probably being a terrible punter. Then I suggested he proof his tips to a reputable source.

Next time I logged on this company had blocked me from engaging with them.

Edit: To address their reply. It's completely nonsense.

If they care to unblock.me on twitter I'll show them the proof. They can't take it when anyone, not even their customers (judging by their other reviews) says anything negative about them.

Also, I repeat the challenge. If you're so confident in your tips, proof them with a reputable source. Go on, and make me look a mug.

If you were blocked by us on X/Twitter, it's because you were rude or abusive. It seems as though this is the 9th time something like this has happened to you as we can see from your other reviews on Trustpilot. The only common denominator is your poor behaviour.

Absolutely dreadful company

Absolutely dreadful company. The worst odds and the worst margins in the business. And of course they stop accepting your bets if you have the temerity to win.

Even a little bit.

And when you seek clarification, they won't give you any. How they're allowed to advertise as a betting company is beyond me. Betting is a transaction, where one side wins and one side loses. IF one side won't accept losing, it's no longer betting.

Stay clear. Go to an exchange like Matchbook or Betdaq, and get better odds for your bets. MUCH BETTER ODDS.

I really wish I'd come here before buying a prodict from them on Amazon.
Earlier today I purchased the M210 vacuum cleaner, but then realised it did not have a mop function. SO I went to cancel, only to be told this was impossible due to it being in the pre shipping phase. This wasless than 8 hours after I ordered it.
No matter how many times I told them I would be returning this item, he simply refused to budge. Safe to say I won't go back to them again.

Bought a Lenovo laptop from them about 15 months ago. Wanted to spend about 450 euro, but walked out after spending 800 that day, buying this add on and that add on, one of which was an extended warranty.

So today I open up my laptop, and it cracks at the hinges, but when I bought it back to Harvey Norman on the Kinsale road, I was told "there's nothing we can do for you".

Pity they didn't tell me that the day they were selling me all and sundry.

I won't be buying from them again, that's for sure. If you do buy from them, I'd at least organise my own insurance.

Absolute rubbish company.

Edit 7/12/24: Laptop is close to useless now as it turns itself off when ever it feels like it. With add ons it cost €850 and now, just 20 months later I'm going to have to buy a new one.

Also, when I rang the number supplied by the reply this original review the guy on the other end had no clue what I was talking about. Reply was just for optics AFAIC.

So I'm back to review Unibet again

So I'm back to review Unibet again. Practically every day I go to oddschecker, and everyday Unibet advertise prices that are much better than their competitors. But when you go to have a massive 3 euro bet on it they leave you have 0.25 as they did on Luke Shaw first goalcorer Thursday night. They will take a 25 p bet on Man United Barcelona. Is it 1932 again?

Then today, in one of the big races of the day I'm refused a 5 euro each way bet on one of the big races of the day. Sorry your stake is limited to 4.34

Are you having a laugh? You won't take a 5 euro each way bet on a Saturday race? What kind of imbeciles are running this company?

Of course you can't get through to anyone as their 24 hour live chat is not working to complain. Wrote up a complaint on their message board. Nothing. I noticed their poker customers are also unhappy with them.

An absolute shambles of a company.

So despite my reservations about this awful bookmaker I deposited 10 euros, and tried to have a massive 3 quid on it.
Maximum alllowed 2 euro. Surely they can be done for some kind of false advertising for this?

Because it's complete and utter BS. Again, take your business elsewhere. Utterly useless.

When I informed them I knew that and I wanted to know WHY the trading team were afraid of 10 euro bets at 3/1 I got no reply whatsoever.

Tips appear and disappear, sometimes a few minutes before a race, you log on the next day to find a tipster you like had a winner you missed, because the only way to be sure is to check it every five minutes.

Sometimes the tips are on the website and not the app, sometimes vice versa. There's a notification function for tipsters you follow, which never sends notifications.
