Disgraceful service

I was with an elderly friend on a mobility scooter. His scooter suddenly stopped working. He has Fish breakdown cover. He is nearly 80 and vulnerable. He broke down at 6.30pm and he was effectively left stranded as they could find no-one to come out. Even if someone had been found he was told they couldn’t take him to his home even if they took his scooter to his home. In the end I had to make arrangements to get him and his scooter home. It was disgraceful. If I hadn’t been there heaven only knows what would have happened to him. He’d still be out there now. They don’t seem to have anyone to help outside of office hours.

Inconsiderate staff

I was surprised by how unaware or unprepared your staff are to offer to help someone using a walking aid. Finally, someone was asked to help but her rather brusque efficiency was off-putting and she seemed rather impatient. I asked her if this was her first time helping someone but she told me it wasn’t and that she had been doing it for four years as part of her job! However, someone different checked if I needed my rollator at the interval which was thoughtful. Subsequently though when I was leaving staff just stood there while I struggled to lift my rollator up three steps. That was really bad and so different from the charming and thoughtful help I have recently had when attending theatres.
Fine feelings for the arts are all very well but a few finer feelings are needed by your staff for people with mobility problems.

A welcome antidote to ‘woke ‘

I find it a welcome change to listen to a station that is truthful about what’s going on.
What a shame your weekend schedule is all but destroyed.
I wiuld make a few comments though. Mike Graham is a good interviewer but he’s like a stuck record and stays on subjects far too long and it becomes too boring to listen to.
The second comment is a request. Please, please find someone other than Peter Cardwell to stand in all the time. My heart sinks when I hear his voice. He is so, so dull and drones on and on. I think I can safely say I have never heard even an attempt at levity or humour. He is very, very dull!

Review of Vaillant UK

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Appalling attitude and very unhelpful company

I have a Vaillant boiler that should be granted a 7 year guarantee if installed by a heating engineer authorised by Vaillant. It was. After 2.5 years the boiler had a problem. I contact Vaillant and they were spectacularly unhelpful. My heating engineer registered my guarantee online as requested but somehow it was not registered by Vaillant. They have all the proof of installation but refuse to register the guarantee. I have tried complaining online and after completing the form was told it couldn’t be submitted and all the data was wiped.
This really is a horrid company to deal with in my experience. The staff have been rigid, unhelpful, patronising and arrogant to both my heating engineer and I.

Regarding your reply
You will note that the installer and I have both been contacting you about this guarantee not being registered on your system so we are way past your suggestion. My installer has said he did it online. Your response is very typical of your attitude throughout this whole process, namely a refusal to even consider that your system of registration online could have been at fault. You have just demonstrated exactly the same rigidity and unhelpful attitude that appears to be at the core of your customer service.
I hope that others will see what is happening here and choose another make of boiler so they don’t have to deal with your after sales service. I’m assuming you have seen all the terrible reviews of your service on this site. I’m sure your view will be that every dissatisfied customer is the problem rather than yourselves. Long-term you’re doing yourselves no favours.

Thank you for your review and for providing further information so we could look into this. Extended guarantees are provided through the independent installer and paperwork is provided from the installer at the time of installation. Unfortunately, your appliance was not registered on the system for an extended guarantee by your installer. We would recommend contacting your independent installer regarding this. We have fed back your experience when contacting to the relevant department for internal feedback. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Kind regards, Vaillant

Review of Coopers Fire Ltd

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Extortionately expensive

Coopers Fire installed a fire curtain in a domestic setting. They charge a fortune for a fire curtain and installation and left it looking like an industrial site in a domestic setting. They fitted a hyper-sensitive smoke sensor immediately by a kitchen rather than a heat sensor so the first time I fried anything, with absolutely minimal smoke, the curtain came down and kept raising the alarm.
I have had this thing 8 months now and it has to be serviced or the battery could fail and then you can’t get out unless you cut your way through the curtain which would cost a fortune to repair.
Here comes the worst bit - they charge. £435 + vat to come out and service the curtain and no-one tells you that in advance. It is extortionate and pure exploitation as there are not many installers of fire curtains.. Should you need to call them out for any other reason their fee is £330 vat.
I would never have used this company had I realised they would be, frankly, such a rip-off.
Google reviews are enough to put anyone off too.

Review of Daniel Gore, Consultant Eye Surgeon, Moorfields Eye Hospital

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent Team

Daniel Gore is first class and I am very pleased with the operation I had to remove a cataract.
It has been very successful.
He is also very calm, reassuring and approachable. He works with an excellent anaesthetist and opticians and you feel in safe hands. In addition his secretary is very helpful and efficient.
My only comment regarding an improvement needed is that the reception desk teams seem to need some kind of training in customer service. It’s unusual in this kind of setting to find reception staff who seem more interested in engaging with each other than thinking about how they might provide more than a basic service. This excellent medical team deserves better.

Communication and service changes

The problem with Fantastic Services is that they promise you what you ask for so that they get the business and then don’t bother to tell you when the service you are expecting changes.
An example…I have one-off cleaning service around every 4-6 weeks. I ask for a particular cleaner and they tell me it’s all booked then they send me someone else and don’t have the manners to tell me. This last time I booked a cleaning service the same thing happened but they also didn’t tell the cleaning company that I have a dog so the cleaner looked terrified and asked me to tie the dog up. We managed the situation in the end but this kind of carelessness and casual disregard of clients’ wishes is what causes problems.
The reason I have given three stars is that the cleaners I have had have all cleaned the house perfectly adequately but the problem is Fantastic Services not communicating and promising on booking something over which they don’t seem to have control to deliver as they put the request out to different providers rather than control this themselves.

Nightmare to deal with

This company is a nightmare to deal with.
New water softener installed. It took them 3 months to get it working. Eventually they changed part of the unit and I have been waiting for months for a new lid that I can use with the app. It’s not possible to speak to their i-lid people and they never get in touch with you. I asked to speak to a manager as I had really had enough and I was told I had to write to them if I wanted to speak to a manager. The same applies if you want to complain.

Very mixed quality of presenters

Julia Hartley-Brewer presents a fast-moving and challenging news show from 6.30am-10am Mon. -Thurs. and Mike Graham who follows her is also stimulating and challenging. However, there are some really poor-quality presenters who don’t seem very bright and just rant or, joined by others, shout and show-off. The main overnight presnter is just awful. He doesn’t seem able to speak clearly and goes on and on about sport. Then there is Trish who is painfully boring and Jeremy Kyle who is just ignorant. A very mixed quality station.

Terrible company to deal with. Charges far more for its products than when sold on Amazon.

Review of Quartzize

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Find a better company.

Find a better company.
Don’t be fooled by the initial visit to sell you the product, which is expensive.
This company will give you a headache.
They came to fit the worktops and after a very dusty day I discovered that it was badly fitted round the sink.
I sent photos to them and they agreed it was badly fitted and needed to be replaced.
So… back to all the dust again for a replacement. We fixed a date and time and I was told I was first on the list and arrival would be between 8am and 10am. I sat there all day, no-one arrived and no-one made contact with me. It was a very frustrating experience trying to get hold of anyone who knew what was going on and Igot conflicting information.
At the end of the day we arrange the fitter will come two days later. He calls me the day before and says he’ll be with me at 8am or shortly after. He’s just called me to predict his arrival at 8.45am…we’ll see…
I would also add that I am disappointed by the thin veneer of quartz, It seems quite fragile. I was told that having what seems to be a normal overhang on the sink is not advised as it could snap…expensive quartz worktops …. snap?? For heaven’s sake….
Also note that Quartzize also calls itself Quicktops.

They arrived today to fit the worktop replacement and once having taken the faulty worktop off the installers discovered had been given stone from a different batch and completely different tone.

So….we now have to go into round 3.
If you’re looking for this kind of irritation then Quartzize/Quicktops is your company. ‘Quicktops’….hardly…

The reply below is not what my experience was. I sat all day on Wednesday waiting for your fitters. It was only later in the day after numerous calls from me that I got a response having been passed from pillar to post.
They are now here to refit and as my edit says, they have a replacement piece which doesn’t match so they will have to come back yet another day.
Regarding reviews, it’s very easy to blame the customer. I see Trust Pilot as a way of warning people if I have a bad experience. May I suggest that you read your other reviews where people are saying the same things about your service.

Hi Jenny,
Thank you for your review.
Although we agree that you did not receive a perfect finish on your initial visit, We do not agree that our potential customers will find a better company!!
If we dissect you review what you are actually saying is we have
1. Listened to you when you were not happy
2. Organised to rectify the issue
3. advised you that we had an issue but despite the fitters mother in law becoming ill still ensured that we visited the same week.
4. The fitters kept in touch throughout, both the day before and on the day
5. Despite the product being natural and as per your contract you may have shade differences we are endeavouring to find you a match even though we do not have to.

We have worked with you throughout your journey with us to ensure that you are aware of whats going on and when along with also paying for your Doggy Day Care yet you warrant this as 1 star service?
You have left 25 reviews on Trust pilot and of these reviews 19 of them are 3 star and below, it seems that our potential customers need to know that you seem to find fault with most companies and not just ours, with many of these being large trusted organisations!!

What you review points out is that we are a caring company that looks after our customers even when we don't quite get things right, We are a family business working hard within the current climate to ensure that we learn and grow from our mistakes, surely that's the kind of business everyone wants to deal with???

Cheap call out fee but beware

Cheap call out fee, they don’t seem to carry the basics for a fridge repair so they would have to make another visit. Quoted me £230 to put some gas in the fridge freezer. I felt I was being completely ripped off a d didn’t progress. Waste of a call out fee. Avoid this set up.

Fair’s Fair

I ordered an electric scooter from this company and then read so many bad reviews that I decided to buy one from a shop locally. My experience was not as bad as many people have been saying. I did find it difficult to make contact with anyone and I think I only ever managed to speak to the distribution company in the UK which is a separate company from the company selling the scooter. The company itself seems to operate via an answerphone in Germany. However, they gave me a refund of the full amount without any issues.
I think the main issue for UK buyers is that this company is in Germany and I sense it might be very small, perhaps even one person!

Review of LBC

LBC is biased, boring and depressing

Such a shame that LBC seems to have lost all political balance. I find the endless political bias irritating and the repetitive diet of negativity is depressing. The only intellectual challenge comes from Nick Ferrari or Tom Swarbrick. The rest are so pedestrian. Iain Dale used to be interesting as he has tremendous political knowledge but he just seems to moan and drone on for ages now, as does Shelagh Foggarty. And, as for
James O’Brien, he has become a ridiculous parody of himself and now seems to present himself as some kind of patronising, all-seeing and all-knowing prophet.
Steve Allen Is fun if you can’t sleep though.

LBC needs to review the quality and abilities of their presenters

It is time LBC reviewed the quality of their presenters and their ability to select engaging subjects to discuss and their ability to be open-minded, interesting and intelligent.
The constant repetition of subjects shows a lack of imagination and is lazy.
I now find that I just can’t listen to quite a few of the presenters. For instance, if there is a dreary, depressing subject then Shelagh Fogarty will find be sure to find it and then vicariously trudge her way through peoples’ dire experiences. Then there is Nick Abbot’s puerile offerings on Friday and Saturday evenings. Then comes Ian Payne with nothing of interest to say about anything and James O’Brian with his adolescent ranting and lack of nuance.
This station could be great but it’s now very often just disappointing and dull.

Review of Bupa UK Insurance

Expensive and yet you end up paying for more than you expected

I pay around £5000 a year for a policy with BUPA.
I need an operation and then found out their rates for paying a surgeon and anaesthetist are very mean, so for a surgeon who charges normal London prices I end up paying about 40% of his fee. Same principle with the anaesthetist but this time they allow £175 and a fair London cost is more than double this.
I then discover that as I pay an excess of £500 p.a., once I’ve paid that, if it is for physio, then the £500 for physio that is part of my policy is no longer available to me.
Also my problem began in January this year and my policy renews at the beginning of March so I have to pay the excess again for this treatment as it’s a new policy year.
Find a different and fairer insurer is my advice.
Interesting I think that since I posted this review all of a sudden there are all these positive reviews within a short space of time….🤔
And again funnily enough….as son as the edit is published here come 5 star reviews from so-called ‘invited’ people to whom they can respond. Not to me though as there’s nothing they can say when these kinds of practices come to light…..as I said, choose a fairer insurer…
Regarding your reply Amy, how much more than £5000 p.a. do you expect people to pay to avoid the very mean allowances for surgeons and anaesthetists?
For the benefit of others try Axa…much better deal and much fairer.
