THIS IS A ZERO STAR REVIEW
THIS IS A ZERO STAR REVIEW.
While visiting Southend, Essex, England, I went into a branch to see if I could open up an account. I live in the United States and I was told what to do. Since that moment in time I've been dealing with a gentleman by the name of Shahid.
This has to be the worst customer service representative I've ever dealt with in my life. Firstly he stated that he didn't get the appropriate tax form which he did and was verified for the very person had sent it to him from the Southend branch.
Then when I asked him to call me The next day, giving him 4 hours as an open window he never called and then decides to call the day afterwards when it's my only time in a year to spend time with my great niece. Believe me this really intruded on a lot of my time with her. My documentation had already been uploaded at the Southend branch but according to him it wasn't good enough.
At one point I even asked Syed Ibrahim in the international division of this bank to call me when I finally did get back to the States and he didn't.
Then once I returned home I purposely got up early due to the 8-hour time difference on Wednesday 6-26-24, I emailed Shahid Khan asking can you please call me I'm home all day. I even emailed somebody else to email him and it was verified that he would call within the hour. Almost 2 hours later he called me back. During this phone call I am told that as a British citizen I cannot open an account over there and they also wanted my mother's utility bill.
I spoke to his manager Ashuma Shariff who told me the exact same thing.
My whole account was dependent on this individual, whom might I add has been pretty incompetent up to this point.
What has the world come to?
I spent ages trying to do what Kay from HSBC has responded below. I could not find HSBC socials on Facebook anywhere, I ended up in a live chat room in the US with Sanjana at HSBC ithis was just as unhelpful. She kept sending me a link to the UK side of things but you cannot get in touch with a live human being unless you have an account. Talk about a conundrum!
I'm certainly not going to call them as this would cost money.
Three times I asked Sanjana in the US chat room on how to reach HSBC on Facebook socials or socials Facebook. Never once did she answer this question. Never once did she answer this question also which I asked again and again on how does one get in touch with the corporate office via email. Also what is their corporate address. I need this so that I can file a complaint with the Ombudsman.
I also sent an email to the CEO of HSBC on Monday 7-1-24 and I've heard nothing back either.
On 6-21-24 Shahid Khan, called my mothers home, where he stated the person that answered the phone had never heard of me!
Another employee said they called me 3 weeks or so later. When I answered my cell phone in the U.S., I knew it was a UK call due to the +44 before the number. Complete silence on their end. Not once but on 2 back to back calls
