Review of Gretel

I registered about a month ago just to…

I registered about a month ago just to see if anything would come up. I was pretty confident it wouldn't as I'd already used other services to find lost pensions.
Then I got an email telling me they'd found something.
A pension I didn't know about worth £16k.
Gobsmacked - and obviously over the moon!

We're so pleased Gretel was able to find something that had been missed elsewhere — and even better that it turned out to be a pension worth £16,000.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Stories like yours are exactly why Gretel exists and we're delighted we could help. Enjoy your fantastic find!

Extremely good all round company

Extremely good all round company. For me the cost of the Motul product was the best I could find. The website is also very easy to navigate. Communication and delivery was spot on, and order was very well and thoughtfully packaged. Highly recommend and will definitely be using again.

I bought a Lenovo Desktop at the end of …June 2017

I bought a Lenovo Desktop at the end of June and within weeks it had a recurrent fault with blue screen error. I called their IT helpdesk and was told that it was my antivirus software causing a problem. Didn't believe it for a minute but did as they said and uninstalled it. Didn't use the computer much for the following month but last week started getting the same blue screen error.

Called support and got told that as it was now more than 30 days since buying it they wouldn't replace it and it was up to me to take it to a store for them to send it off to have a look at. No, they wouldn't collect it, they don't do that. There is clearly a fault with the computer that goes beyond software but they won't replace it and I have to travel miles at my expense. I do not know any other online retailer who doesn't offer to collect items. I do however know my consumer rights and I suggest they train their staff to understand the main principle is that the goods are presumed to be faulty from day 1 if they go wrong within 6 months and it is up to them to prove otherwise. They also need to take ownership of what they sell and not try and pass the responsibility on to the manufacturer. They said that if we'd bought an HP it would be collected but its Lenovo, so I have to deliver it. It's all a load of rubbish.

I now have a computer I can't use and the only solution they offer, bring it to the store. Disgusted is an understatement. I went through John Lewis thinking they were a reputable business. I have purchased many items and insurance through them but not any more if this is the way they treat customers.

Hi, it's Tricia. I'm sorry to read of your experience with the faulty laptop. It's certainly not the level of service you should quite rightly expect from us. I'd like for our senior aftersales team to look into this further for you, so please share order details at: Tell.us.more@johnlewis.co.uk. One of the team will get in touch to follow up. ~ Thank you.

Review of Escapade Fancy Dress

saved the day!

You know that feeling when you suddenly realise you haven't done something. Well, Monday evening I suddenly realised I hadn't sorted out the kids costumes for World Book Day. A good few hours wasted finding costumes only to find I couldn't get them for Thursday or the price was ridiculous. Then I found Escapade and problem solved. We got to choose from a wide variety of costumes and could get guaranteed delivery for Wednesday. Costumes ordered, me and kids happy. That wasn't the end though, the costumes were excellent. Far better quality than alot of others. They lasted a day at school without problem and cash easily be used again and again. Thanks for saving the day!
