Yesterday G2 announced the acquisition of Capterra, GetApp, and Software Advice from Gartner - this is more than consolidation. It’s a signal that the software marketplace era is reaching maturity. When a market leader starts acquiring all major competitors, it usually means: ⛔ growth is slowing ⛔ differentiation is collapsing ⛔ innovation is being replaced by consolidation. Software marketplaces were built for a world where search was the primary interface. But we are rapidly entering a world where decision-making becomes the interface. AI is shifting the paradigm from: 🧐 “Where can I find the right software?” to 😎 “Why do I even need to search?” Just like ChatGPT didn’t replace Google by being embedded everywhere, but by becoming a destination people go to for thinking, the next generation of business software decisions will happen inside dedicated AI-powered decision platforms. Not agents hidden inside tools. But control towers that sit above them. BREAKING: French Unicorn Mirakl has achieved profitability and surpassed $218m of ARR! 🇫🇷 The company, founded in 2012 by Philippe Corrot and Adrien Nussenbaum, has built one of Europe's leading SaaS business. It provides online marketplace software to retailers, manufacturers and wholesalers, and was last valued at $3.5bn in 2021. Today the company has announced its latest results: 🔥 $218m of ARR (+23% YoY) 🔥 $15bn in marketplace and dropship GMV 🔥 Profitability achieved at the group level The company has been rapidly adopting and implementing AI. It's launched "The Catalog Transformer" - its first AI-native product, and is moving into Agentic commerce. It's always great to see companies raise lots of money at large valuations but seeing a company hit profitability is MUCH better. Amazing stuff - congrats to the team!

And the data shows a clear shift in how SaaS companies are adapting. In the PricingSaaS Trends Report (Q1 2026), we analyzed pricing, packaging, and product changes across 498 SaaS companies. The highlights: 1️⃣ Change is now the default Pricing pages aren’t staying static anymore — packaging events were up +21% YoY, product events +16%, and pricing events +15%. 2️⃣ Structure mattered more than price The most common move wasn’t raising prices — it was restructuring around consumption, credits, and hybrid models. 3️⃣ Credit-based pricing went mainstream Credit model adoption grew +126% YoY, offering a flexible way to monetize AI while staying finance-friendly. 4️⃣ Packaging is moving faster than pricing New plans, add-ons, thresholds, and usage limits became the quickest lever to adapt to evolving AI use cases. 5️⃣ Metrics are evolving Companies are shifting value measurement from seats and time → tokens, sessions, workflows. 6️⃣ AI moved into the core product Late 2025 saw AI features shift from gated add-ons into core plans — alongside the rise of agentic workflows. 👉 Swipe through the carousel for the key insights.
