Staff are rude unprofessional lack of communication all because I asked for my property to be taken down from right move Been told by Cian this evening he’s on his own and he can’t do it
Seems like you just get mucked about and then it’s not in their interest to sell the property And to top it all off, you have to have a go at them for leaving lights on in the property for days on end it’s not their electricity bill

Personally after my experience with William H Brown Doncaster I would NOT recommend this estate agents to anyone.
Communication isn't great only had 2 viewings in 10 weeks your emailing or calling them all the time to get any updates but the cherry on the cake is when you've asked them to do the viewings and they employ people who then show the prospective buyers around only to then start telling them outside my front door about a development they look after that has all sorts of features compared to mine and even names the development and the area and goes on to say how lovely it is and basically plugging the new homes when its my home they are there for trying to sell to the people they are showing round VERY UNPROFESSIONAL 😡 needless to say with the evidence I held I insisted on my contract being terminated early so I can find another estate agent and if I could have given 0🌟 that's what they would have got

if you are looking to sell your home in Ely Cambs, look elsewhere, the manage goes by the name of Charlotte, they are the most iniffecient Estate agents i have met in 60 years of buying and selling real estate

I would not trust these people, I emailed them to arrange a viewing on a tenanted property, no contact, after a couple of days I called them to arrange a viewing for same property, straight away the sales person tried steering me to another property instead, but I held firm, they said they would get back to me with an appointment, they never did, it’s now sold. They have preferred investors waiting in the background, other sectors would not get away with it.

So we had called up about a property, they had said they hadn’t received the keys 3 weeks ago and promised view of the house well finding out today because we have animals and they are not allowed to refuse these without a legal reason, and now refuse to speak to myself I have recorded the calls this is an example of bad customer service

We decided to use W H Brown Barnsley after assuming a large established company would work well for us, how wrong were we! 1st viewing neither viewer or agent showed up, no call or explanation. After ringing the office and getting shouted over when trying to speak, we were assured this wouldn't happen again. Next day 2 more viewers again no agent in site, kept waiting for over 40 mins. Rang the office to be told agent was running late, they never came! Fortunately we were within the 14 day cooling off period and after reading the reviews on here we decided to cancel. Next day my husband is getting calls threatening us with court action if we sell to any of the buyers they put forward, bearing in mind we only have there names, no personal details and they never even set foot in the house, which wasn't even listed online yet! Absolutely disgraceful behaviour. When a company is ran solely on making money and hitting targets you know youve chosen the wrong one. Please people DO NOT USE W H BROWN. These reviews say it all.

All I can say is they are shocking. They have a brilliant sales pitch to get you hook on using them to sell your property then once you agree the service they provide goes downhill from there. 99% of the viewings are time wasters as they are not vetted before viewing that they are even interested or proceedable to purchase. They promise open house viewing days but have never once done anything like that. Communication is poor and I'm always chasing them for everything. You get sent offers you accept them then they say the buyer has lowered their offer will you accept it.

All round I regret choosing them to sell my property and I'm stuck in a 20 week contract with them now with no way out of it.

If I could put 0 I would, I have never dealt with anyone (Jess, Mexborough shop) so obnoxious and rude. Not been helpful, respectful or informative, not only to me but other parties. Went into shop and she was laughing at me and when I said you’re rude she said and yes so what. Absolute joke a first time buyers house and still for sale due to their incompetence, even sent my grand daughter round to view it because we had no response. They never answer the phone to us the sellers so god help the buyers. Avoid at all cost!

Well, was okay until we signed on doted line and paid over the top (supposedly reducing our final costs on sale of property), to advertise our property when it went to dreadful service.
We had put offer on a property they were also selling, and was told had a good chance as nobody else had offered asking price.. (We found out it went to someone else, not by agency telling us, but seeing it removed on Rightmove..
We have requested numerous times that they contact us as our property isn’t listed properly still, and it’s been on a year.. Our calls or emails are never returned, and they fail to answer the phone when I try to call them..
They are by far the worst estate agents I’ve ever seen…

Absolute pests none stop calling and emails even more so after I said not using them to sell my home AVOID unless you like constantly being bombarded by calls and emails

I have been very disappointed with the service I received from William H Brown while trying to sell my flat.

Communication was poor throughout the process. On several occasions I was unable to get through to the office, which may have resulted in missed opportunities with potential buyers. I also had to chase staff to ensure my property was listed on the additional platforms that had already been agreed and signed for.

Selling a property is stressful enough without having to constantly follow up for updates and basic actions. To make matters worse, I had to send the same email three times before receiving a response.

After reading other customer reviews and reflecting on my own experience, I lost confidence that William H Brown was in the best position to secure a sale for my property. As a result, I decided to withdraw the property from the market.

Unfortunately, the level of service and communication fell well below my expectations, and I would not recommend William H Brown based on my experience.

We used William H Brown Doncaster to view some properties they had for sale. We had an initial phone call with a sales advisor and all seemed really hopeful & positive. That’s when it turned around quite quickly. I visited the branch to get some further information & nobody was particularly quick to come & speak with us, and felt they couldn’t wait to get us back out the door. The customer service left a lot to be desired. I had been warned by friends they can be hit n miss. But this was truly a letdown. Communication was poor!!

They rang me on Friday 12th of June and left me a voicemail to call them back to organise viewing a property in Upton that wasn’t clearly listed as being owned by Lomond. I rang them back several times and left voicemails only to be ignored, I then followed up with a second email query also to be ignored. After looking at the property its clearly managed by Lomond, so they have likely liaised with them to blacklist me from renting their properties. This is over one ancient paid off &satisfied CCJ.

Very unprofessional my daughter has moved in to one of there properties and have had nothing but issue after issue and they don't seem to be bothered as long as there getting there money, works that have been done are to a very poor standard as they use an odd job man and not professional trades matters are being taken further, I can provide photos and evidence to anyone wishing to rent there properties before you go down the same road

My flat in Nottingham(NG5) was put on sale by William H Brown in March 2026. It has been 3 months now and there has been only 1 viewing. I have emailed and called them many times to arrange more viewings but no success. I used their competitor David James a few years ago and they were far better than them.

I really committed a mistake by choosing William H Brown to sell my flat.

Made appointment to sell my barn conversion for Monday at 11.00 no one turned up so rang office and was told there was nothing in the dairy. Wasted all morning waiting for them and lost money for not being at work not very professional nor trust worthy so won't be using them. Stay away from this company.

We’re very late in posting this review, but we wanted to share our excellent experience with Connor Cook, Mortgage Services Consultant at the Colchester branch of William H Brown.

Connor went above and beyond to help us purchase our property, which we completed on in November 2025. From start to finish, he was always available whenever we needed advice or reassurance, and his efficiency made the entire process run incredibly smoothly.

As first-time buyers, everything was new to us, but Connor took the time to keep us informed at every stage and explain things clearly, making what could have been a stressful experience feel straightforward and manageable.

What stood out most was how genuine, approachable, and professional he was throughout the process. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

We were happy to rent a property with this company even though this will be our second time losing our holding deposit because of the behaviour of the agent I’m not sure if she took us for idiots but the lady literally wanted to rush us into signing a contract that we’re sent to us in minutes after my husband told her give us a day so that we can go through it with our lawyer she explicitly said it will fall through if she don’t go through with it that very moment take into account that we left the comfort of our home in Huddersfield to go to hull for this viewing this is not the first time we try getting a property from them as I said and our deposit was kept the lady we spoke with on the final day was so demanding and hard to speak to the only time you’re of relevance is when a payment has to be made our first encounter was in Bradford when they wanted us to liquidate all the funds just to prove to them that we can have the property funny thing is when we refused and our deposit was kept by them days after we still got a call about insurance on the very property that we never got in Bradford lesson learned

I am very disappointed. At 9:10 in the morning, I called the agency and was scheduled by phone to view two houses. However, when I arrived at the location, I was informed that both properties had already been sold. I would like to point out that I traveled 2 hours one way to get there. This was very unprofessional service, and I definitely do not recommend them.
