Great support from Jamie, one of their specialists. Every question and concern addressed. When things haven’t gone as expected it’s been rectified swiftly. I’m looking forward to seeing how my audio plans come together after our building project is complete. I trust the advice and support from this company. Just be careful because this leads to spending more than you intend to! Not because of their prices, these have felt fair and they were able to honour a sale price even after it ended because of a delay in communication.

Quality advice and service
I purchased a turntable after some great advice from Jamie on a web chat. Friendly and concise, no pressure to buy at all. The Rega turntable was exactly what I wanted, after explaining my needs. Just purchased new bowers and Wilkins headphone and from the moment I contacted Smarthomesounds for technical advice to the order I placed and the next delivery I can only say that the company and level of service are superb. I stumbled across smarthomesounds by accident, but I am so glad I did.
I bought a turntable and speakers from them for my daughters 13th birthday, as everything I looked at from High Street retailers was quite poor.
Fantastic quality, great despatch speed (delivery by dpd was very poor though) & a delighted daughter!
Best of all, the pricing is very competitive.
I cannot praise SHS enough, will definitely use again & have already recommended them to 2 friends.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We're truly sorry to hear about your experience, although we're disappointed that we didn't have the opportunity to speak with you before this review was posted.
To clarify, all of our Audio-Technica turntables are supplied to us brand new and factory sealed directly from the manufacturer. If the contents of the box you received were not the correct product, I can only put this down to what appears to be an extremely rare instance of the package being tampered with during transit.
We use our selected couriers as our delivery partner because they consistently achieve some of the highest delivery success rates in the industry, so we were genuinely shocked to hear this had happened. While incidents like this are exceptionally rare, we completely understand how upsetting and frustrating this must have been, and we'd like to sincerely apologise for the distress it has caused.
Please be assured that we're treating this as a priority and we have reached out to you on this matter and are awaiting a response.

I was very disappointed with my experience. I ordered a turntable and assembled it according to the instructions, but unfortunately, it did not work. After spending a considerable amount of time troubleshooting, I discovered that the drive belt was missing.
When I tried to repack the turntable, the box became damaged, which made returning it even more difficult, so i just bin it. This was my second order from the company, and sadly, based on this experience, it will likely be my last.
Update
The reason I did not submit an official complaint or contact customer service is that the turntable I received appeared to have been previously opened. I find it difficult to believe that Audio-Technica would release a product with this kind of issue.
Unfortunately, this experience has affected my trust in the company, which I had previously held in high regard. That's all.
I then shared an honest account of what happened and explained how disappointed and upset the experience had made me. Unfortunately, no one contacted me afterward. This lack of response has confirmed my decision not to order from their website again.
That is all I wanted to say.

We're genuinely disappointed to read this review, particularly as we didn't receive a single email, phone call or message from you before it was posted.
Had you contacted us, this would have been a very straightforward issue to resolve. If the drive belt was genuinely missing, we would have arranged for a replacement to be sent on a next working day service, allowing you to get up and running as quickly as possible.
All of our products are supplied to us brand new and factory sealed directly from the manufacturer, so whilst issues like this are extremely rare, they can occasionally occur regardless of where a product is purchased.
We believe great customer service isn't about never having an issue arise, but about how quickly and effectively it's resolved when it does.
We're also surprised by the comments regarding the condition of the parcel, as the DPD delivery photograph shows it arriving in excellent condition with no visible damage to the outer packaging.
We're sorry you've chosen to dispose of a brand-new product rather than giving us the opportunity to help, as we would have been more than happy to resolve this for you.

Delivery was the day after I ordered (I was given a 1 hour time slot and it was delivered in this time slot !) Price was cheaper than other companies for the same items. Also I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sound and would recommend this company without hesitation thank you 😊
