I can’t say enough good things about…
I can’t say enough good things about Remento! I bought this for my dad a little over a year. He turns 94 in a couple of weeks. I remember the day I gave it to him. Father’s Day 2025. Now, my dad is not a technologically savvy person, but he sure does love telling stories. He’ll tell anyone a story! I trusted the process and I’m so glad I did. So on Father’s Day, with a twinkle in my eye, I explained this gift to my dad. He quietly thanked me. What I didn’t realize was, he was really mulling it over and thinking about what I had told him. When I dropped him off after dinner, he paused, gave me a hug and he told me, “I think you hit the nail on the head with this gift Amy.” So over the next several months, I added several prompts to the system so that he could tell his stories about a variety of different items. I showed up at his house with my smart phone and set it up so that he could video record his stories. I didn’t even give him the option to only audio record. In the beginning, I stayed near him while he told his stories and I hit the buttons on the phone for him to record and pause and finish each story. But now, he is a pro at it and understands exactly what to click on. We went longer than the 12 months subscription because he still has more to say. Sometimes he wants to review the video and watch it for himself. We haven’t ordered the actual book yet because I am in the middle of making sure all the stories are edited correctly. I know the book is going to be fabulous. I can’t wait to be able to show others how they can scan the QR codes on a given page, and my dad will be able to share his own personal stories in his own voice. This is truly a remarkable program. I have told many of my friends about it and showed them snippets of my dad‘s stories in hopes that they use this for their own parents.

Amy, this was such a joy to read. Your dad telling you that you “hit the nail on the head” with the gift says it all. I love that he went from needing you nearby to becoming a pro at recording his own stories, and even going back to revisit them himself.
Thank you for trusting Remento with your dad’s memories, and for sharing the experience with so many of your friends. I hope celebrating his 94th birthday, and eventually holding that finished book in your hands, makes this project even more meaningful.

Want more Spam? - Remento!
If you feel you need more spam in your emails, or if you really hate a friend or relative, or if you really want to show how shockingly average your life is, Remento is for you. My kids decided to get me this for me for Fathers Day. From that day to this, when I finally stopped all of the contacts, I received daily emails AND texts telling me to get online to leave memories. You'd think that maybe if you left a memory or two, maybe the emails would at least slow down. But NO! Now that they have you in their clutches, the emails become a veritable avalanche, filling up your emails and texts. And the reminder-prompts are not helpful to the experience. As I noted above, Remento is a great way to realize just how useless and meaningless an average life can be. If you really want to write your biography, just write it. But I cannot emphasize enough to stay away from Remento.

This is Charlie from Remento, and I’m sorry, both for the volume of messages you received and for how frustrating the experience became. Remento is designed around weekly storytelling prompts, not to make anyone feel chased into telling a story. Whatever the reason for the additional reminders you received, I understand why repeated emails and texts would make the whole experience feel more like an obligation than a gift.
The prompts are also meant to help people uncover memories they might not otherwise think to share, and families can choose or customize the questions. But that approach clearly didn’t resonate with you. More importantly, no one should come away from Remento feeling as though an ordinary life is somehow meaningless or not worth remembering.

REMENTO is a wonderful way to capture a lot of your life’s experiences. It’s a simple process to record a happening in your life. As I grew more confident I shared moments I had never before revealed. In the process of creating the book, I was able to correct or add to a story.
I felt a huge sense of accomplishment and anx ious to share my stories when my book arrives. I would recommend that children of older parents give this to them. It’s a wonderful tool.

We are at the very beginning of our Remento experience, but I'm already so impressed. Also, it's been super easy for my 91 year-old mother to navigate. I haven't seen the final book yet, as we have just started, but so far I highly recommend.

Only platform and service of its kind of which I am aware.
As far as I can tell, this is a unique platform and service that allows us to record video responses to questions from our family. It allows our children to ask questions about our childhood, and archives our responses. It is very intuitive and user-friendly. I think it enhances communication and fosters an environment where children can ask significant questions about a parent's youth that otherwise might remain a mystery.

Ability to voice record my answers to the questions, add pictures and even ask my own questions! This is the best gift I have ever received. I am not a good writer but have wanted for years to write my story along with stuff on my parents, siblings and grandparents. This is a perfect way to do it!
