I sent Sell My Phone a fully working phone in decent condition, securely packaged, after getting a valuation based on their “Good” condition criteria.

They then had the phone for a week with no update at all. I had to chase them to find out what was going on, and only then did I get their assessment and a revised offer of £80.

The £80 offer was ridiculous enough, but some of the comments in the assessment were also questionable. They claimed the back cover “appears to be non-genuine”. I know the history of the phone and that simply isn’t true.

When I challenged it, the wording changed. They then said there was a visible gap and some adhesive which suggested the phone “may have previously been opened”, and apologised if the back cover hadn’t actually been replaced.

That’s quite different from telling me the back appears to be non-genuine.

What concerns me more is that I sent them an intact phone in decent condition, and I do not recognise their description of there being a visible gap between the back cover and frame or visible glue around the camera. So I’m now waiting to see what condition the phone actually comes back in.

I rejected the £80 offer straight away and asked for the phone to be returned. I then had to chase them again the following morning because they hadn’t even acknowledged that request.

Their response then made a point about not always being able to reply “within minutes”, which completely missed the point. I wasn’t expecting a reply within minutes. I was chasing because they’d already had my phone for over a week, I’d already had to chase once for an update, and I wanted confirmation that my property was actually being returned.

They have now confirmed it will be sent back on Monday.

A revised valuation after inspection is one thing. Having to repeatedly chase for updates, being offered £80, and then being given an assessment containing claims that are later softened when challenged is another.

Based on my experience so far, I wouldn’t recommend them.

I’ll update this once the phone is back and I’ve checked its condition.

Was quoted £408 as the phone was pretty brand new as it was an iPhone 16 I then got a new offer of £370 as they was the slightest scratch on from a case nothing noticeable

As others have said, this company will try to scam you and exaggerate issues with your phone. They offered me 25 pounds for my iPhone 12Pro revised down from 100. The phone is second hand and it was in a good condition for its age (6 years).

I asked for return and sold it on EBay for £125! Don’t get scammed folks.

PS - they are also very articulate in the detail you receive regarding phone condition and I can see they are also at it here. Don’t feed the beast people.

Worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with.

My phone arrived at around 11am and they didn’t even start checking it until about 4pm. Then at 5pm, not even an hour after saying they had received and checked it, they told me it was only worth £330 because of some marks on the screen and general wear and tear.

What annoys me is that they offered one of the highest prices, which is why I chose them in the first place. Then once they had my phone, the price suddenly dropped. It honestly feels like they offer a high price to get you to send your phone in and then lower it once they have it.

If I’d known, I would have gone with another company and happily taken £30 less rather than deal with this.

The lady I spoke to on the phone was also extremely rude, which just made the whole experience even worse.

Would definitely not recommend and I won’t be using them again.

Requested to revalue my iPhone 15 pro, from promised £362 down to £270 ? Phone it’s mint condition , being kept in the case . Have pictures to prove.The valuation team says it’s got scratches all over the screen and scuffs on the metal border. Lies , lies , lies . In this scenario they should send pictures of proving their checks and why reducing in such a significant amount .If price won’t change requesting my device back . Will not recommend at all.

Sellmyphone offered me the best price for my phone. They provided a free shipping label for Royal Mail 24 delivery. I posted the phone on Thursday, got a text confirming receipt of phone on Friday and had the agreed amount of money in my account on Saturday. Very smooth transaction.

I sold my pixel 10 XL pro phone via compare and recycle site who passed this through to sellmyphone as a Pixel 10 pro.

Despite the phone being next to new with the box it was graded as B good. When I declined the fee they said I had to pay to return the device as it differed from the Pro 10 to Pro 10 XL

I ended up taking their derisory offer.

I would avoid these at all costs.

Offered me a price, picked up the phone, paid the price they'd offered 48hrs later. Refreshingly free of messing around.
