I had a couple of billing issues that I raised with Customer Service, then Ismail resolved them promptly and helpfully. It was a pleasant change not to be ignored or forced to use useless chatbots.

Good team to talk to if a problem. Seem to be proactive and want to get the best deal/rate for you.

Started with So Energy in November 2025. Easy to sign up and download & use the app. Had a new smart meter fitted which went well. A couple of small issues at the start, but dealt with easily with customer service/support. Happy with my experience so far. So happy in fact that I have signed up for a 24 month fixed rate package starting in November 2026.

I have been with SO energy for several years and am completely satisfied with their performance.
Their tariffs are very competitive, amongst the best.
Because I have a smart meter my monthly payments run smoothly and receiving a regular email showing how my account is progressing is very satisfying.

The website is always down at so energy. You supply your readings. And days and days and days go by and my balance is still £0.00 - ok… I’ve used zero energy this month? Surely not. So I decide to pay very close to what my usage is this month. I email so energy. I ask them what is going. A few days go by and - nothing. Meter reads submitted on 25/8/26 and here on 5/9/26 the website still says I am now in credit by the amount that I paid. I think so energy want me to leave and go somewhere else for my energy needs. Because I’m certainly not going to be bullied into paying by DD. I’ve been paying on receipt of bill for years.

App is really easy to use , can access my account anytime and it is informative when its time to chose a new tariff. Competitive prices.

Easy to understand everything. Easy to give reading.

My elderly father has been with SO Energy and its predecessor ESB for some years and generally they have been OK. Recently it appears SO Energy have given my father's details to a company called SMS who are bombarding him with phone calls trying to force him into getting a Smart meter which he does not want. He has blocked the number calling him 0330 135 9975 but now they have resorted to continually leaving voicemail messages. I have had to turn this facility off as well which means family and friends cannot leave messages for him. This isolates my father which is disgraceful on so many levels. If SO Energy and SMS were fined a minimum of £1000 every time these harassing calls were made they would either stop making them or go out of business.

Although the tariff has now been increased with my renewal, and slightly highher than an alternative, my experience with SO Energy does not warrant switching.

A very easy site to compare my current variable plan against a fixed price plan making a choice of plans on offer very easy. Once I chose the best plan for my needs, the change over was easy and problem free.
