STAY AWAY FROM PURCHASING ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY! This company is deceitful with their advertising, quality of their products, and return policy. The website looks high-end, IT IS NOT! The products are cheap and poorly made, and when you try to return anything, their 30 day money-back guarantee is not even allowed. They will only offer a portion of your payment or store credit, which believe me, you don't want! Just don't even bother ordering from them in the first place.

I wish I could give a -1. Unfortunately, I have fallen for the scam as has many others. I have the same complaints as others. Purchased what I thought was a beautiful blouse, but what I got was a piece of junk. It looked similar to the on-line picture but the material was really cheap and the blouse was about 2 sizes too small even though I went up on size when ordering. No packing slip was enclosed and I requested return instructions by email. I got an immediate response which asked, what was wrong and what could they do to resolve it. I told them I wanted to return it and reminded them that their website says “satisfaction guaranteed” and “‘Easy returns”. Then I got the response, that since the item has to be returned to their international office it Could cost as much as $90 to return. So they offered to send me a 2nd blouse or credit my card 15%. I took the 15% since I did not want a 2nd piece of junk. Lesson learned.

Would never order from this company again. I ordered a sweater which looked beautiful and high quality on the site. It came squashed in a ball inside a plastic wrapper and was not the product displayed on the website. It was a synthetic, low quality, cheap looking imitation. Very disappointed!!!!

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Harper & Wells. The pants I received did not match my expectations, and when I requested a refund, I received an email stating:

“Due to high demand, returns are currently processed through our international facility overseas. Customers who choose this path typically encounter high return courier fees that often fall around $40 to $50 or more, depending on location. Packages need to travel overseas, pass through customs, wait in an inspection queue, and only then can a refund be reviewed.”

Rather than providing a simple return, they offered to send a replacement while letting me keep the original item or give me only a 15% cashback refund if I didn’t return it. Their email also stated:

“If you would like to receive the correct size or switch to a different style, we would be happy to send you brand-new replacements completely free of charge. You won’t pay anything at all, and you may keep the original item as well.”

They also wrote:

“If you prefer a financial resolution instead, we can also provide a 15% cashback refund directly to your original payment method.”

What concerns me even more is that this email later became unavailable in my inbox. Fortunately, I had already taken screenshots of the entire message, so I still have a record of exactly what was sent to me.

Customers deserve to know about these return policies before making a purchase. In my experience, being asked to pay $40–$50 or more for an international return, or being offered only a 15% refund instead of a full refund, is not acceptable customer service. I encourage anyone considering ordering from Harper & Wells to read the return policy carefully and be aware of the potential costs and limitations if you need to return an item.

The only time I have considered returning an on line purchase. The material was not as advertised and the design not as pictured. When I tried to return it, they insisted it be sent to their supplier in a far off country at nearly the cost of the item. I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased.

I ordered a linen blend shirt for around $42. The shirt that arrived was labeled as pure polyester and really, really cheaply made. Though they advertise an easy return policy online, Harper & Wells told me I could only return it by shipping internationally and they have no US address for a return. They told me shipping would cost between $30 and $50. Instead they offered me a 10% money back. We eventually talked them up to 30%, but clearly their business model is to ship you the cheapest thing possible, make it impossible to do a return, and keep the bulk of your money.

I ordered some shoes, the cost were $65 plus.. they arrived. They didn't fit and the quality was very poor! The return is so ridiculous. The fee I was told is $40-$50 because it has to go through an overseas process. I am so disappointed. First time and last time would ever purchase anything from this vendor. Horrible experience to say the least.

I would like to give 0 stars. This company's business model is based on deceit. The photos on the website are AI generated and don't reflect the poor quality of their products. The reviews on the website are fake and the 30 day money back guarantee is a lie. When you contact them to return an item, they tell you that to return something it will cost $40 to ship overseas. The only other options are getting %15 of your payment back or getting another (poor quality) item. Don't shop here! I wish I had read reviews before I place my order.

Item that was received was substandard and ill fitting. Impossible to return for credit. Cost to return would be $50 for a $50 item. Offered to replace for $13, then for free. Offered a 15% refund. Based in China, not Boston. Totally fraudulent and a scam. Do not buy from, you will regret it.

If i could give negative stars, i would. The company is a sham - and once you have the product in hand (that looks nothing like what you ordered) you cannot get a refund. They “barter” over percentages of the refund amount or advise of exorbitant prices to return the product to China.

This product is a copy of the real one. Did not fit as stated on the size diagram. Below standard workmanship. Dropped both pairs off at the Salvation Army!!

Deceptive return policy—would never provide a return address and offered 20% refund. Misrepresenting themselves as a Boston company!! Items not the quality I was expecting and weird proportions.

Cheap material. Don't know why they are so over price. If I could put a zero star, I would even the packaging was cheap.So disappointed will return immediately.

Terrible from start to finish.
I saw that order was incorrect on tracking info right away and informed the company. Nevertheless they took my money and scrunched up shoes in a ziplock scrunched into a mailing bag arrived weeks later—no box for 70dollar shoes. I wrote repeatedly and got no response. Btw they are in Atlanta Georgia not Boston. Stay far away!!!!

The two items I ordered did not resemble what was advertised. Cheap, thin material so awful that I doubt Goodwill will accept them as donations.
Wish I had read the reviews first.
The apron I made in 9th grade Home Ec class ( and it was quite ugly) was far superior to the items from this company.

I have reached out twice with the return email they gave me & absolutely no response. The shoes I ordered were not the same color that i requested on the order. Not able to return anything from them.

The pants that arrived look very cheap, and the sizing is way off. They don’t look like the picture on their site, so I refused the replacement pair they offered to send. In addition, they are saying it’ll cost $30-$50 to return them because their “warehouse” is overseas! I have no idea why their site says they are in Boston when they are most likely totally overseas. No one answers the U.S. phone number on their site and the other U.S. phone number my cc company has for them doesn’t work. Please avoid purchasing from this scam site! I wish I’d read these reviews before ordering.

This is a scam to import cheap products from international vendors and charge a premium price. I tried to return my order for a refund. They did not want the items returned, but did offer to replace these items for the right size for $39 shipping. I said I wanted a full refund. Their offer was $50, a third of the purchase price, or full store credit. Their products are not worth the price. Buyer Beware from this company!!!

BEWARE - This is a fraudulent company. Products don't match descriptions on-line and are cheap and unfitting. The claim that there are "easy returns" is completely false. Since they are not based in USA (forget the Boston claim) they do not arrange returns. They pepper you with emails about other "options." Spare yourself the hassles - Don't buy from Harper & Wells.
