Been with this company a number of years for loans and credit cards. Have generally found them good to deal with. However recent issue where I topped up a loan. Error on their side where the wrong amount was transferred. I spotted the error not them. Mistakes happen however my annoyance was the way I was dealt with afterwards by certain staff. No apology from some.A disdainful and disinterested at times. Rather than put things right ASAP a kind of you will just have to wait attitude. Not good enough. Spoke to a manager after 3-4 phonecalls and issue sorted quickly. Prior to that fobbed off by others who just seemed to not care. Would I recommend Avant after this. NO!

My mortgage process was straightforward and very quickly processed by Samantha Massey. I went from placing my first bid to drawdown within less than 90 days. Samantha gave thorough explanations for the different options available to me and is incredibly responsive so you feel you are in safe hands. When Samantha was on annual leave Ger Donough stepped in and was very responsive too so the service provided was seamless from my experience. I recommended Avant to my family/friends/colleagues based on the excellent service I received.

Remortgaged with Avant due to BOIs higher interest rates (I don’t have an A or B BER rated home so no longer qualify for decent interest rates having been a lifelong customer).

I switched mortgage to the Avant One Mortgage. Catherine Griffin was my case manager. She was very helpful and knowledgeable. She was available throughout and answered any queries I had without delay. The online hub made the experience pretty seamless and made the process very efficient. Excellent experience with Catherine and Avant.

I have spent 7 years trying to cancel my credit card, which was never used. I get fined for the tax on that non-existent card every year and am informed I was notified of the outstanding bill via the app, which I do not have. Seriously, it's not worth the stress. Stay away from them; I think I will have to get a solicitor to finally get them to leave me alone.

I had pleasure of working with Jenny Kilfeather throughout our mortgage journey, from initial enquiries to AIP and ultimately drawdown. Jenny was excellent - attentive, professional, responsive and helpful throughout. She always took our calls, replied to our emails promptly and responded to our all queries (both small and significant) with patience and professionalism. She was pragmatic throughout and felt she was focused on achieving the desired outcome in the most logical way which made this element of the purchasing journey as stress and hassle free as it can practically be. I would highly recommend dealing directly with Jenny (and avoid a broker) if your desired mortgage is with Avant.

Everything seemed good and well but after applying for a refinancing loan I received no correspondence (which I had been advised I would receive within the hour) so the next day I applied again. And again I received no word back. So I called, and was passed through to customer service who notified me that I had been refused for an unexplained reason.
It would have been nice to be told before spending two more lunch breaks chasing a response.

Extremely disappointed with my experience with Avant Money.

After spending over a month going through the mortgage application process, providing endless documentation, responding to multiple queries, and investing significant time and effort, my application was ultimately declined because my wife had not yet completed two years in her current employment.

What is most frustrating is not the decision itself. Every lender has underwriting criteria and I respect that. The issue is that this was clearly a fundamental eligibility requirement that should have been identified at the very beginning of the process, not after weeks of back-and-forth communication and document requests.

As a customer, I trusted that basic eligibility checks would be carried out before the application progressed. Instead, valuable time was wasted during a critical stage of a house purchase. Had this been communicated upfront, I could have immediately pursued another lender rather than losing more than a month chasing an application that was never going to be approved under your policy.

The entire experience left me feeling that the process was inefficient and that applicants' time is not valued. For a company operating in a highly competitive mortgage market, there needs to be much better transparency around key lending requirements from day one.

Now, I am unsure when if I will be able to get the house after so much delay. All because of Avant.

Please do not opt for this bank.

I utilised Avant for a mortgage. My Mortgage Advisor Aisling Molloy was proactive and professional throughout the process. I am very happy with the service I received. I would also like to compliment their online first approach which really works well for people who don't have the time to get into a physical bank.

has really bad experience, rang to see if I could miss one loan repayment, and add it at the end of term, was told this was ok, but then got phone calls, sometimes 4 a day about a missed payment, then received a lump sum and payed of 90% of loan, but still was hounded by phone calls after phone call about this 1 missed payment

Do not ever use this bank. Trying to get in touch with anyone or any form of line to reach a resolution on any given issue is not possible. They have extremely unethical practices and process and incompetent customer service.

The application never works and the bank itself has absolutely zero benefits to a traditional high street bank. No rate or promotion is worth the pain of dealing with complete incompetence

Avant themselves have a very straightforward portal that is clear about what is required. This really helped us get all our docs together quickly and without confusion.
