It was misleading. At the beginning it said lowest prices and later i got very high prices.

Contacted by Konnect You to take on some mortgage leads a few weeks back. The leads seemed cheap compared to other lead providers online so decided to give them a shot. We shouldn't have wasted my time...!

The concept behind it seems ok, you sign up to their system, choose a post code you would like to receive leads for and whenever anyone in that post code enquires on their systems, the lead is assigned to the broker (or brokers) who have requested that post code. Therefore it's possible, and quite often is the case, that the lead is sold to multiple brokers. This was something I was made aware of but they sold it to me on the basis of there being a number of locations where there are no brokers and a lot of locations where there would only be 1-2 other brokers, max.

They say they obtain their enquiries from Google but I'm convinced that's not Google clicks, given how cheap these leads are, they wouldn't be able to recover the costs if they were using Google clicks so I can only assume they are crappy paid adds somewhere as the quality of these leads are beyond poor, you'd be better off flicking through the phone book and calling random phone numbers in the hope of finding a lead!

A VERY high percentage of the leads they send through are either dead numbers or numbers who never answer - not even to say "not interested" regardless of when you call or how many times you call.

An email address is provided for each lead but out of the 20 odd leads we have had to date, we have not received even one email back.

The most frustrating part is that their refund policy is only to refund if it is an invalid phone number AND email address so when someone enquires with only their first name and a phone number of 01234 567890 (clearly a fake number), that's apparently still a valid lead we have to pay for as apparently the client has provided a valid email address, although I'm not sure how they can actually verify this and it is certainly not supported by us getting any emails back from clients as none of them reply.

My advice, save your money, I'd rather pay 3-4 times the price of these leads to actually speak to someone who has a modicum of interest in discussing a mortgage. Out of all our purchased leads so far, we have not even managed to have one meaningful conversation with anyone yet - not even one completed fact find!

They have to be the worst quality leads we have come across to date by a considerable distance.

Do not fall for their pitch about you being only one of 1-2 brokers who are registered for any given post code. The reason there are hardly any brokers signed up to each post code is very likely because they too have realised how poor the quality of these leads are and they have stopped buying leads from this company!

It cost me £240 for 10 'credits' and I got 10 free for my first buy. Each "lead" is one credit. After the first 10 leads (including one with the name Sir PooPoo - so clearly no quality control systems in place here) they agreed to refund me 4 credits but those 4 extra credits have just been wasted on other leads with either dead phone numbers which do not even ring or dead phone numbers that divert straight to a voicemail (indicating an old or no longer in use phone) and email addresses where nobody replies.

This company may have been successful with their moving company leads or leads for Accountants based upon similar systems but for mortgage leads, this model just isn't working. My opinion is that the source of the leads is poor, at best and this coupled with their lack of quality control and poor refund policy means that I would recommend other brokers steer clear of using this firm.

The one thing I do is ask for the price. If a company offers a price then says, if you get a lower offer let us know and we will try and beat it. I tend to be wary then because all I want is the best price they can do it for. If they then say we can give you a lower price it means they haven't given their best price in the first place or they are going to do the job at a loss, which isn't what I want.
