Hi from InnoTrans! 👋 It has been a whirlwind couple of days, and the feedback has been outstanding. The conversations are always a highlight – hearing first-hand what matters most to our customers, exchanging ideas, and exploring how we shape the next dimension of rail technology. 💪 And…we have just announced some exciting news. Siemens Mobility is expanding our long-standing strategic partnership with Infrabel to jointly modernize and maintain Belgium’s rail operation control centers through an 11-year framework agreement. Together, we will drive the continuous evolution of signaling software and operational hardware for one of Europe’s densest rail networks. Cybersecurity will be a key focus throughout. By aligning our strategic priorities over the next 11 years, we can enhance the digital systems used to manage rail traffic across Belgium. The goal is clear: a Belgium rail system that is more resilient, secure, and innovative for decades to come. This is the future we’re building together. 🤝

Some announcements just fit perfectly with InnoTrans. This is my favorite one from Day 1: Siemens Mobility and ÖBB have signed a landmark framework agreement for the gradual rollout of Digital Interlockings across Austria. With a total investment volume of around €2.6 billion, ÖBB Infra takes a major step towards the next generation of rail operations. Just a few years ago, we commissioned our first Digital Interlocking running on DS3 in Achau. Today, we are taking the next step with Signaling X in Austria. By bringing interlocking functions, ETCS, diagnostics, object controllers and cybersecurity into a common software environment, Signaling X lays the groundwork for a more flexible, efficient and resilient railway. It enables infrastructure to evolve faster through software, helping operators adapt more quickly to changing demands. I would like to thank our partners at ÖBB for their trust and collaboration and our teams for this great achievement. What started at a station near Vienna is now becoming part of the long-term digital transformation of Austria's rail infrastructure. Velaro Vietnam certainly has a nice ring to it! 😉 Today, we announced the signing of an up to €1 billion Turnkey contract between Siemens Mobility and VINSPEED to develop Vietnam’s high-speed rail capabilities – kicking off #InnoTrans2026 in style. So, what happens when you combine: 1️⃣ 10 Velaro Novo trains with 30% less energy consumption and more than 10% additional passenger capacity. 2️⃣ Entirely new high-speed corridors linking key economic hubs – from Hanoi to Quang Ninh and from Ben Thanh to Can Gio. 3️⃣ The first-ever implementation of Automatic Train Operation (ATO) over ETCS on a national high-speed rail network. Answer: Vietnam's first high-speed rail lines and a new era of mobility for millions of people.
