I'm disabled and ordered a new washing machine which is absolutely great and as I'm on a tight budget, it far surpasses all other options with other suppliers at my price point. This combined with the brilliant delivery service, who also disconnected and removed my old washing machine and installed the new one. They are called Joybuy and trust me they're a joy to deal with.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience purchasing a washing machine from Joybuy.com.

The washing machine arrived well-packaged and appeared to be factory sealed. However, after opening it, I immediately discovered a large crack across the top of the machine, making it clear that it had arrived damaged.

I contacted Joybuy.com customer service straight away. Initially, they agreed to accept the return and issue a full refund, advising me to simply order another washing machine once I had received my money back. I explained that this was not an acceptable solution because my family needs a washing machine while this issue is being resolved.

A customer service representative then offered what seemed like a reasonable alternative. I was told that if I created the return request immediately, my refund would be processed straight away so I could use the funds to order a replacement before their courier collected the damaged machine. Based on that assurance, I agreed and submitted the return as instructed.

However, once I had done exactly what I was asked, I contacted the same representative to ask when I could expect the refund. To my surprise, I was then told something completely different—that I would not receive any refund until the damaged washing machine had been returned and received. I was shocked that I had been given one promise to persuade me to create the return, only for that promise to be withdrawn immediately afterwards.

This level of inconsistent communication is completely unacceptable. Customers should not be misled into taking actions based on information that is later contradicted by the very same member of staff.

As a result, I have raised a formal complaint with senior management and am awaiting their review of how this matter has been handled.

The product arrived damaged, and the customer service experience only made the situation worse. I cannot recommend purchasing from Joybuy.com based on my experience.
