I have been using this Mycar, previously Kmart motors, for almost 10 years without issue. In the past year they have become very expensive, unreliable and after today’s experience incompetent and deceitful. I needed a service and also there was an oil leak. I was quoted $500 on the phone for the service including sorting the leak. When I was given the invoice it was actually $1200, as I wasn’t able to collect in person I didn’t have time to challenge. Then when I took the car home, the car immediately started to smell like burning oil, obviously I thought the oil leak hadn’t been fixed or got really bad. Significant smoke was coming from the engine and on a short trip to Hornsby it was almost impossible to breath. I then checked the oil level which was 3 times above the safe limit. So I returned the car to check if this was the reason for the car smelling so bad and as it was rego time asked them to do this too. The manager (Con) was incredibly condescending and suggested the oil smell was due to them cleaning the engine and it was a bit of dust! I wasn’t born yesterday, also amazingly the oil level had miraculously been reduced to the safe limit; clearly they drained the oil and lied about it. And if this wasn’t bad enough apparently my front 2 tyres were no longer legal, but the back two appeared almost new; but the manager, being a bit dull, didn’t check- they replaced all my tyres at the same time 1 year ago! Also, as they had my car in for a service days before, the tyres couldn’t suddenly have worn out! Again I challenged this and he stated the tyres were illegal and had to be replaced or the car would not pass, and again as I’m at work till 6 I had little choice but to agree. Another $900 down and I will be pursuing the fair trade for the oil damage and deception and not claiming responsibility for poor workmanship and the likelihood that the tyres didn’t need to be replaced. NEVER will I use this garage again; sad for a once excellent establishment. Beware.

I was impressed with the prompt and courteous service that I received from the guys at the garage. My vehicle was repaired to my satisfaction the same day as delivery.

Brought it in for a basic service and it was returned with the dash lights full brights as well as the entertainments screen. The air conditioning control lights were not working also.

The manager was argumentative and told me to fix it myself.

I have enjoyed a low cost and friendly experience for tyres and vehicle servicing and repairs, including follow up care. I bought 4 new tyres and a few months later I noticed a screw 🔩 sticking out of one of the tyres and returned to be pleasantly reminded that it was covered under their tyre care plan.

Greg was fantastic organising my appointment to suit my work schedule. The price was excellent and the service was outstanding. The staff were very friendly and courteous. I recommend this business 10/10.

They did it again - after getting a screw stuck in my tyre, the staff promptly booked me in the next day and quickly and efficiently fixed the tire while I did some shopping (under an hour). I had a similar issue just six weeks earlier, and they offered exactly the same speedy and cost effective service. Not all automobile shops are made equally, but these guys are great!

I was able to get lights sorted straight away. Excellent customer service from Chris. I would definitely recommend to anyone requiring car repairs.

Lance always takes the time to answer even my basic questions. I can see he is busy but trust his advice on tyres and car services and repairs.

I have had my vehicle looked after by mycar at Northcote for over 10 years and have never has any issues with their service before; however, I used mycar at Richmond last year, and after a horrific experience there, I decided to call Northcote again on 14/7/26 and asked to have a leaking radiator checked and was asked to bring the car to them the next Morning, after they inspected the problem I was informed that the heater valve needed replacing, I asked if this would fix the leaking radiator and was told that it would so I agreed to have it done. They called me again later that day and said that they would have to keep the car overnight as the incorrect part was sent to them. After collecting my vehicle the next afternoon, I once again asked if the leaking radiator was fixed, as I had to drive to Bendigo for the weekend. I was told again that it was fixed and drove the vehicle to Bendigo that evening. The next morning I checked the radiator, and it was leaking again already, and I had to keep topping it up with water all weekend! I rang mycar Northcote on Monday, and they said to bring it in to have a look at it again, and to my dismay, I was told on the phone that it was not leaking and that there was another more serious issue that was causing the problem! I then had to make a special trip back to their premises to find that it was, in fact, leaking just as I said it was! They then kept the car for a few more hours, and I had to ring them as it was getting close to the end of the day and was told that I now needed a new radiator, which I feel I should have been told in the first place! I was extremely annoyed that my time and money had been wasted and the problem not fixed, and when I told the manager how I felt, he threw a tantrum in the office. This is now the second time I have been on the receiving end of extremely poor service and inappropriate and unprofessional behaviour from mycar staff, and I am feeling very distressed as a result and believe that it is unacceptable that, after being a loyal customer for many years, I should have to feel this way.

The first service we had with these guys was amazing! But our second service was disappointing. Instead of calling us to tell us about maintenance that needed to be done, like they did the first time, they called us around lunch time and told us the car was ready for collection. And when we collected, we were then given a list of things that needed to be done, and said you can do them yourself or you can rebook in before your next service is due to get it done.

Got a flat tyre yesterday.dropped in this morning- no appointment. So professional. Quick and easy. Tyre fixed quickly. They handled tyre so I wouldn’t get dirty. Third visit to Wyoming MyCar, wouldn’t go anywhere else. Daughter goes there as well. Always friendly service, professional advice and never a problem. Makes tyre problems so easy. RC
