Patience testing Mk2
Visits to my local store have always been satisfactory, however the online experience is very different. I wanted a new battery for my ride on mower. I could see that it is a stock item, however trying to find out if my local store has it in stock is very difficult. The first hurdle is the requirement to enter my vehicle's registration number. Mowers don't have a reg number. The website does not provide store phone numbers, but I found the number and it goes to a central enquiry, who asked me for my phone number and e mail address. "I only want to find out if the item is in stock" - "we need the information to verify who you are???"
Eventually the search for whether the item was in stock began; it took over 8 minutes to be told it wasn't but another store 15 miles distant did have one. It would be so much easier if you could talk to the store direct. The will to live became a struggle.
Thank you for your response, but this exposes another website problem, Halfords website give no email contact within the 'contact us' label. How am I suppose to contact you with my contact details? However back to the issue, A Yuasa U1 battery is described as 'A specialist and garden battery' yet requires a vehicle reg no to pursue ordering or availability. Mowers don't have reg numbers. I had a similar problem before with trying to get a battery for my 1959 Morris Minor. Halfords website didn't recognise a 3 letter 3 digit reg number. So no further progress then either. Please don't 'fob off' , addressing the issue with a relevant response would be nice.
