BAIT AND SWITCH!
BAIT AND SWITCH!! STAY AWAY!! BEWARE, they offer a three day special and than hit you with a full months charge if you don't cancel BEFORE the third day is finished.
The actual report is so-so, as you do see maintenance records, but they do not show the dealer/provider name nor address. Also CARfax showed an accident whereas Zilocar did not.
my main problem is that I buy 1 car about every 5 years, not 25 a month! they are not trustworthy and I would never recommend using them as they will continue to charge your credit card.

Three strikes - avoid Zilocar
At first this seems like a better deal than Carfax, but it’s a total waste of money. I testing their vehicle history reports on my own vehicle, and they completely missed that it was salvaged in an accident in 2008! This was the first strike. The second strike is that I didn’t realize I had signed up for a $60/month subscription and they charged my credit card three times without me noticing (my bad). Zero email notification was provided that I was paying for this service. The third strike was when I emailed them asking to cancel and refund at least one month, which they flat out refused. Avoid these clowns!

The data presented in reports is both solid and reliable. I also really appreciate the straightforward billing process. Carfax is what people know (thank advertising), but this was a better option for me looking for a used car.

The complete information was given (at a consumer level, rather than dealer) for a great price for a short window opening to the information. A few days is great, but a month (or more) is gross overkill in my opinion. You folks seem to understand consumer needs very well. You present all the same info as CarFax without the high price.

Vehicle information Incomplete/Incorrect
Often times the information is not accurate nor correct. In some cases it is non existent. I've compared them to other vehicle information service providers and was completely disappointed that I spent hard earned money on a lackluster service. I initiated a cancellation via email after I no longer needed there service. To my surprise a month later a charge was posted to my credit card statement, from you guessed it, Zilocar. When I contacted customer service they stated that they would make an exception and only refund me partially instead of wholly. This company is irreputable and does not consider it's customers as most good businesses do. Be forewarned!

Regarding the renewal charge, our team offered you a partial refund as a goodwill exception, but we didn’t hear back for several weeks. During that time, the charge was reviewed through your card issuer’s dispute process and was resolved in our favor.
As for the reports, our records show your communication with our team was about the cancellation and refund, and we didn’t receive any concerns about specific report data.

Ease of use. Pricing was the key, since you were the most reasonable & did not look like a money grab.
However, I would have paid an extra $1 or $2 to get the complete build sheet of the car as well. Like a Monroney sticker or decode the VIN completely.
Integrating that as well into the report, would have been a COMPLETE wholesome report imo.

Fast generation of very thorough…
Fast generation of very thorough reports. I was looking to buy a truck, and using Zilocar I was able to see that the mileage was not correct. In fact the actual mileage was probably 100000 miles more than what was reported by the seller and what was on the odometer. Great catch ! And for the price of one CARFax, Zilocar can do 29 in one month!
I highly recommend this no-brainer tool to anyone who is looking to buy a car or pickup truck!

Update Refund
Update: After multiple exhausting email exchanges where the company initially refused a full refund, I filed a formal chargeback with my bank following that and my earlier review here, the company finally issued a full refund of $59.95. While they framed it as a "one-time exception" rather than admitting to canceling my trial early, and I never got the two remaining searches, the matter is now resolved.
