I would strongly advise against booking with Travel Up.
I paid £1,199.91 for my flights. My return flight on 2 March 2026 was cancelled due to the conflict in the Middle East. As only the return journey was cancelled, I was entitled to a £599.95 refund.
However, my Barclaycard credit card company informed me that Travel Up claimed they had only refunded £349.80, stating that they had deducted a £250.15 booking fee. I do not believe this deduction is justified, and it was never clearly explained to me.
I have been waiting for my refund since March 2026. During this time, I have sent numerous emails and made multiple phone calls, but Travel Up has either failed to respond or has not provided a satisfactory resolution. The lack of communication and customer service has been extremely frustrating.
I am currently collecting all of the evidence relating to this case. If Travel Up continues to refuse to refund the amount I believe I am owed, I will have no choice but to pursue legal action through the courts.
This entire experience has caused unnecessary stress and wasted a significant amount of my time. I will never use Travel Up again and cannot recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable travel company.
Need to have flexible payment plan for customers

No äter sales support, now response from help Bot options and no response from WhatsApp..A very long wait tie 36 in the queue...and premium cost number..
making money from the misery of a client..
Very poor after sales support.
You keep changing your prices. When I first attempted to book flights it was £532. However before I could complete the booking, the price changed despite having that price reserved for 30 minutes. The timer had 15 minutes left but the price was not honoured. The price then kept changing every time I completed the form. Pure scam!
I booked my flights, didn’t get any confirmations, and only after calling them 3 days later, they told me that the flights hadn’t been booked on time and I had to choose an alternative flight.
Very poor service, I have used travel agents before and never had such a long delay in booking flights, usually it happens within 12-24 hours.
Don’t bother booking with these guys if you want reliability and good service.
Firstly, I want to make absolutely clear that my booking was for two people. During the booking process, and importantly at the point at which I confirmed the booking, the information displayed to me showed two passengers. I would not have confirmed or paid for the booking had the website shown that I was purchasing a flight for only one person.
It was only after the confirmation was received that I discovered the booking had apparently been processed for one passenger.
I attempted to resolve the issue almost immediately. The booking had only been made approximately 30–45 minutes earlier, yet I was subsequently informed that £150 would be withheld from my refund, comprising a £75 cancellation charge, £25 booking fee and £50 described as non-refundable taxes.
I consider this deduction excessive and disproportionate given the extremely short period between making the booking and attempting to cancel it.
Furthermore, the delay in contacting you was compounded by problems with your own website. The website stated that you were closed, and the desktop site repeatedly refused to allow me to sign in or properly access my booking. I eventually had to use my mobile phone because the desktop version was simply not functioning correctly.
I therefore do not accept that I should be financially disadvantaged because I was unable to resolve the problem more quickly due to technical difficulties with your website.
Under UK consumer protection principles, cancellation charges should be fair and proportionate, and businesses should not simply impose disproportionately high charges where these do not reasonably reflect the costs or losses incurred.
I would therefore like you to provide a clear breakdown and justification for the £150 deduction, including how each element represents a genuine cost or loss incurred as a result of a booking that I attempted to rectify within approximately 30–45 minutes.
I would also specifically like clarification regarding the £50 described as “non-refundable taxes”. Please identify exactly which taxes or charges make up this £50 and explain why they remain payable where the booking has been cancelled and the passenger will not be travelling.
For clarity, my complaint is based on the following:
* The booking displayed two passengers when I confirmed and paid for it.
* I would not knowingly have purchased a booking for only one passenger.
* I attempted to rectify the situation within approximately 30–45 minutes.
* Technical problems with your website prevented me from accessing the booking normally and contributed to the delay.
* I consider the £150 deduction disproportionate given the circumstances and the extremely short period involved.
* I am requesting evidence and a breakdown demonstrating how the £150 represents costs genuinely incurred.
I am therefore requesting that the full £150 deduction is refunded.
If you are unwilling to provide the full refund, please treat this correspondence as a formal complaint and provide your final written response, together with details of the appropriate complaints or Alternative Dispute Resolution process available to me.
I would prefer to resolve this matter directly with you. However, if we are unable to reach a satisfactory resolution, I will consider pursuing the matter through the appropriate consumer protection, payment provider and dispute-resolution channels.
I look forward to receiving your written response.
Worst experience with this travel up company, Booking process was easy, but when you need change or cancel the flights from other country their website doesn't work, For medical reason they won't even change the ticket or cancel over the phone, they are asking us to cancel through online but their website doesn't have secured connection on other countries. Won't book with them anymore. Not a proper service over phone or online. Please don't book with them...

Nerve-racking booking a flight and committing to such a large payment but everything was straight forward and I encountered no problems.
