Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 73 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently report significant dissatisfaction with customer service, often describing it as incompetent, unhelpful, and difficult to reach. Many endure excessively long wait times, often over 30 minutes, struggling to connect with a live agent or receive responses. Reviewers also highlight staff issues, noting language barriers and a perceived inability to resolve problems. The points program itself is a source of frustration, with frequent reports of missing points and difficulties getting adjustments. However, some customers noted a willingness to fix faulty situations. A few people also reported generally good experiences, finding the program provided significant value and substantial free items.

The points system and offers are very…

The points system and offers are very flawed. Among other complaints, today for example I purchased Lunch Mates, exclusive offered at $3 each, max 4. I purchased 4 and still paid full price because there was also a points offer on them. How ridiculous! I received 600pts which is $0.60, whereas if I was able to use the "exclusive" offer, I would have actually saved $3.00. I didn't have the option to choose and I didn't ask for the points offer, so how is this exclusive offer beneficial?? The system should give the customer the better deal on its own, if you actually value your customer. I have been disappointed the last few shops I have done with Superstore which is a deterrent for me to continue shopping there. I find myself shopping at other stores because it leaves me feeling sour, unappreciated as a customer and taken advantage of.
A few months ago I was offered 30,000pts to shop online and for some reason the system wouldn't allow me to use the coupon code. I asked for help and got the run around for days. Eventually I just gave up because clearly you don't want to honor what you advertise and I don't have enough time to chase your customer service around.
I am very disappointed after years of being a loyal Superstore shopper

Optimum Points not awarded again on bonus offers!!

Acted on a Shoppers promotion for 45,000 bonus points. Noticed they never landed in my account. Second time Optimum has done this! Cannot talk to a person, got a note saying it will take 4 weeks to process my claim (doesn't acknowledge my case legitimacy or not), which is bs in this digital age its easy to verify from my account what I bought, when and that I scanned.

They do this in hopes that I don't notice and can not fulfill the offer.

It's going downhill

I've been a member since the beginning and earned thousands of $$ in that time. Recently though, it's much harder to earn points, the items they offer points on are nothing that I buy, the spend level is really high, e.g. $350. Their offers say 'points on your favorite products " but I've never bought the product and would never e.g. odd food, baby items, makeup. Also I've had to fight with them for weeks to get points I earned that weren't credited at the store. If I wasn't using a linked PC MasterCard, it would definitely not be worth my time and energy to keep up with the program.

Wasted time

Spent an hour downloading app and shopping and it wouldn't accept my debit card stating "error". Could have gone to the store and been done by now. Probably saved a bunch of money not buying extra sh*t

Horrendously bad!!!

I would give the customer service a zero rating if I could. I have been locked out of my account for almost 7 weeks. I have spent hours on the phone talking to one incompitant agent after another. They know what the problem is and the fix for it, but not one agent will fix it and I just keep getting the round around. I am so sick of hearing "your case has been expidited" and it will be resolved in 24- 48 hours. Seven weeks later I am still dealing with the mess. WHAT. A JOKE.

Zero should be an option

Zero should be an option. I live in the province of BC and tried to redeem points in the province of Alberta. Didn’t work.Staff in that store stated this has happened before to non- Alberta pc members, and nothing they could do. I called the customer service phone number and was connected with an incompetent individual who kept referring to my postal code as a zip code and couldn’t understand my issue. I believe he was overseas somewhere. He didn’t know Canada had provinces. After 30 mins of repeating my issue until I was blue in the face I finally told him I was hanging up as he didn’t understand. I called the 416 head office phone number in Toronto and was again connected with an incompetent individual, from who knows where. Dreadful customer service! This was so infuriating!

Antiquated process for resetting pc id…

Antiquated process for resetting pc id - which they lonk to your email as opposed to your pc client card. Emails change and become obsolete. The card is permanent.

So they ask me for my card number for verification. I provide it. And then they ask "ok now log into your account." Which I can't because I no longer have that old email or password which to make matters worse - is where they would send your passwors reset!!!! Do you see where this goes!? Sheer incompetence. So all I have linking me to what is rightfully mine - is a phone number. My actual card number provides ZERO benefit to verifying who I am. Its ridiculous. Sp then they suggest establishing a new account that links the points. Yeah right. I'm not doing that because that will just add confusion to an already miserable experience.

To this end I would recommend staying away from any of their other products. Like the credit card becsuse god forbid you forget your email and password. Your actual card number provides no utility whatsoever. And that - my fellow shoppers - is what demonstrates the level of incompetence.

Disappointed frustrated and dissatisfied. I forgot to scan my points card and cannot get my points because pc doesn’t allow me to get my points after a purchase. Sad I lost big points today because I did large purchases but I will think about spending my money somewhere else

Generally pleased but the offers that require you to wait for points to be awarded 2 weeks or longer are hit or miss. If you even remember to confirm following up with customer service will again be hit or miss. I've got verbal comfirmation that my claim is valid and been escalated but that's all. Hopefully they will come through eventually.

Email change

My email associated with PC Optimum was blocked by Microsoft. I had to call customer service to change my email address. I was told it was sent to another department to get it done and it would take 24-48 hours. I let 5 days go by and still the change was not made. Called again and was told the same thing, she couldn’t do it but it sent to the department that does it. I left on holidays, a week went by and the change still had not been done. I had to call again, so much time consumed to deal with their incompetence. Was very frustrating. All the other companies or sites I had to change my email was done without any problems or issues and all done within 24-48 hours.

It's a clown show managed by idiots.

It's a clown show managed by incompetent, uncaring idiots. They have screwed up my account multiple times, their phone lines are hopelessly irritating repeating the same message over and over, Their phone staff can't fix the problems that management causes and the offers are a joke. And to get those offers you have to waste your time logging in every week to load those offers, offers that are probably totally useless for you.

Referencing CASE#23806625

Referencing CASE#23806625. The first SUPERVISOR TO REACH OUT CLOSED MY FILE/CASE (WITHOUT HEARING MY CONCERNS) AFTER ONLY 2 UNSUCCESSFUL PHONE CALLS CAUSE MY PHONE DOESN’T ACCEPT/STRANGE/UNKNOWN NUMBERS DUE TO ME BEING SCAMMED/FRAUDED AND LOOSING ALL MY LIFE SAVINGS. THE SECOND SUPERVISOR WAS EXTREMELY RUDE - DISRESPECTFUL - ARROGANT - DISMISSIVE - AND TALKED OVER ME THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE CONVERSATION. SHE ENDED UP MAKING THE WHOLE CONVERSATION EXTREMELY TOXIC. AS I RECALL I WAS THE ONLY ONE (CUSTOMER) THAT HAD THE HORRIBLE/SHAMEFUL EXPERIENCE THAT SUNDAY AT SHOPPERS DRUG MART OSHAWA CENTRE MALL. SHE DIDN’T LIKE THAT I ESCALATED HER BEHAVIOUR AND DISRESPECTFUL TONE AND BLUNTLY REFUSED TO ACCEPT THE REAL ISSUE AT HAND. SHE SPOKE TO ME LIKE IF I WAS HER CHILD AND CLEARLY STARTED THAT MY PROBLEMS EXPERIENCED ON THAT MORNING/AFTERNOON HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH PC OPTIMUM PROGRAM AND THAT THE PROBLEM WAS SHOPPERS DRUG MART PROBLEM AND ENCOURAGED ME TO RETURN TO THE STORE AND CALL OUT CHRISTA (MANAGER ON DUTY) THAT SUNDAY AND DEAL WITH HER ACCORDINGLY. I AM A HANDICAP SENIOR WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AND SEVERAL DIFFERENT DISABILITIES SO I ASKED WHAT I SHOULD I REALLY DO TO CHRISTA UPON APPROACH - SHOULD I DEAL WITH HER ACCORDINGLY BY USING MY CANE AROUND HER NECK - WOULD THAT BE DEALING WITH HER ACCORDINGLY - SHE ABRUPTLY HUNG UP ON ME. I WAS NOT ONLY DISAPPOINTED WITH HER YELLING AND SCREAMING AND OVER ME AND FAILING TO STICK TO THE SUBJECT AT HAND - I WAS ANGRY. SHE NOT ONLY HURT MY FEELINGS MISERABLY BUT TRIGGERED MY ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION AND NOW I HAD TO REPORT HER T0 THE HOSPITAL’S TOP PSYCHIATRIST AND PSYCHOLOGIST. IN MY LINE OF WORK IN THIS COUNTRY IF I WAS TO TREAT A CRIMINAL LIKE THE WAY SHE TREATED ME/BELITTLED ME AND BASICALLY CALLED ME A DISGUSTING IDIOT I WOULD LOOSE MY JOB. AS FAR AS I AM CONCERN OVER THE TOP CUSTOMER SUPPORT SERVICES EXCELLENCE IS KEY TO SUCCESS/SUCCEED. I FEEL VERY SORRY FOR HER. I AM STILL GOING TO CONTINUE TO INVITE FAMILY - CO-WORKERS AND FRIENDS TO SIGN UP FOR THE PC OPTIMUM PROGRAM. I CAN’T EVEN COUNT ON MY FINGERS HOW FAMILIES - CO-WORKERS AND I ENCOURAGED INTO THE PROGRAM. FINALLY I REFUSE TO ALLOW THAT SUPERVISOR WOMAN TO DETER ME FROM CONTINUING INTO THE PC OPTIMUM. I AM EXTREMELY SORRY FOR HER AND I CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR HER. MUCH APPRECIATION AND FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ MY TRULY AND HONEST WELL ROUNDED REVIEWS.

False in store advertising

Shopper's in store signage says buy this item, spend $50.00 and get 10,000 points! What it doesn't say is you have to spend $50.00 on that brand! I bought Senodyne toothpaste! Shopper's doesn't offer or didn't have any other Senodyne products on its shelves and $50.00 of toothpaste would last me 5 years! Such a bogus promotion. Signs are misleading and quite frankly false advertising. Just another reason not to buy Shopper's overpriced items!

Can you believe that I have been trying…

Can you believe that I have been trying to get my points back after being cancelled because my Mastercard could not be linked with my PCoptimum. I called and they told me they would fix it and then sent me an email that they fixed it by cancelling my card and taking away my 185,341 points until I go get another PC optimum card and send them the number to get my points back. I didn't give Casandra permission to cancel my card and take my points.I have missed spend your points events because of this. I did get another card and sent it to Casandra and till this day May 20th the problem is not resolved and still do not have my points! This has been going on since April 8th 2026 and still nothing. I get promises that a Supervisor named Diana will call me back but no one does. What kind of Customer Service is this? I have never seen anything like it. I rate this a -10 out of a Plus 10
