I used to have dealings with this…

I used to have dealings with this company many years back when searching for work online.

For the last two or 3 years, infrequently, I have been receiving scam calls from them both on personal landline and business mobile number.

It has now become frequent and annoying and have even received prank calls on a Sunday or Bank Holiday.

I'm not saying that this is being utilised offically by Indeed themselves as the name was used several times on some of their messages, advertising a job opportunity venture, but possibly undertaken by third parties with burner phones but think it is about time people started contacting their solicitors or write to the PM about this disgraceful behaviour and taking action.

I don't know if this is a scam or not.

I don't know if this is a scam or not.

I was contacted by a "recruiter from indeed" offering jobs that pay $100 - $500 per day for 30 minutes to one hour per day of work.

I have a screenshot that shows the image they texted to me and the phone number they used.

Hello, Troy! Job seekers are at the heart of everything we do at Indeed, and their safety and trust is a top priority. We are aware of scams involving individuals falsely posing as “Indeed recruiters” in an attempt to offer fake jobs or request personal information. These are in no way affiliated with Indeed. Please review the following article from our public job seeker help center: https://support.indeed.com/hc/en-us/articles/28360944766221-Text-Messages-or-Phone-Calls-Claiming-To-Be-Indeed-It-Might-Be-a-Scam#h_01J2M4SXG1HK5B5PCFFVTQF9ZR. Job seekers should be cautious of unsolicited phone calls or messages via text, messaging apps, social media, or email. Especially those from unofficial domains or offering salaries that may sound too good to be true. Indeed will never ask job seekers for sensitive information or payment to apply for jobs. We strongly encourage job seekers to stay vigilant and report any suspicious job listings or messages to us: https://www.indeed.com/help/job-seekers/contact/options?hl=en&co=US. Also, if appropriate, to local authorities. Thank you!

Hi Esam, to explain, Indeed’s search engine is built to surface the most relevant roles, but broad keyword matching or limited context can occasionally pull in unrelated results. We’re continually refining this so the right jobs show up first. To get the most relevant results, enter keywords between quotation marks related to the job you want (for example: "Restaurant Manager").

We would also advise checking out our Career Guide page: https://www.indeed.com/career-advice, there are some great resources here that will assist with all areas of your job search.

Let us know if you need any assistance. We are here to help!

Good luck with your job search!

Indeed protects bad employers and strips workers of an honest voice

Indeed has really gone downhill, causing both businesses and candidates to abandon the platform. If a company is posting a job on Indeed, it is usually because they cannot find workers due to poor conditions at their own company.
Indeed’s strict review system allows outlaw companies who do not follow laws and regulations to take advantage of the U.S. workforce. They post jobs that barely comply with basic regulations while leaving affected workers with no honest voice, thanks to a heavy-handed review filtering system that scrubs the truth.

Indeed’s support process was extremely…

Indeed’s support process was extremely frustrating: despite providing the requested business documentation and following every appeal step, our account was ultimately blocked without any explanation of the actual reason.
We were repeatedly asked for additional documents, only to be told after multiple reviews that the decision was final and that no details could be provided.
Overall, the experience felt opaque, inconsistent, and unnecessarily difficult for a legitimate business trying to resolve a verification issue.

Hi there, thanks for following up and sharing your concerns. We understand how frustrating it is not to have a detailed explanation for the account lock, and we are sorry for the frustration this has caused.

To protect the integrity of our review process and prevent circumvention, our review teams don’t share specific reasons or internal signals that lead to an account restriction. We know that can be disappointing, but this policy helps us apply our standards consistently and keep the platform safe for everyone.

Indeed reserves the right to reject or remove any account for any or no reason at any given time. Please reference our Terms of Service for more information. https://www.indeed.com/legal

The most frustrating vendor I deal with…

The most frustrating vendor I deal with as an EMPLOYER

I’ve dealt with Indeed’s billing practices for over a year, across multiple products — sourcing, job boosting, subscriptions, etc. — and the experience has been consistently awful.

Every time I think I’ve canceled everything, another charge seems to appear. Their products are confusing to turn off, cancellation is unnecessarily difficult, and the entire platform feels designed to constantly push you toward another paid feature or upsell.

I run a business. I use plenty of subscription-based software. Indeed is the ONLY vendor where I routinely find myself asking, “What the hell are they charging me for now?”

Today was yet another surprise bill after I believed I had canceled all active services — followed by a 17-minute wait just to speak with someone about why they charged me.

At this point, I don’t trust Indeed’s billing system. That’s the biggest problem. As a customer, I shouldn’t have to constantly monitor my credit card, hunt through account settings, and contact customer service to make sure a service I canceled actually stops charging me.

For a company that sells services to small businesses, the experience feels remarkably unfriendly to small businesses.

If you use Indeed, watch your billing very carefully.

Hi there, it is important to note that Indeed operates on a post-pay billing cycle. This means that any charges accrued during a given month are billed to your credit card on the first day of the following month.

Therefore, even if you paused the job partway through the month, any balance accrued before the job was paused would still be charged at the beginning of the following month.

Having said that, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what happened. When you have a moment, please email us at trustpilot@indeed.com with some additional details so we can further assist. Thank you.

Hi Apolonia, and thanks for sharing your feedback.

We’re sorry the experience felt frustrating. We ask users to sign in and verify a phone number to help protect accounts, prevent fraud and suspicious activity, and keep our platform safer for job seekers and employers.

Your phone number is used for security purposes such as verification and account protection. We understand that this can feel like an extra step, and we appreciate you calling it out.

We’re always working to make the experience clearer and more straightforward, and your feedback is appreciated.

Hi, we completely understand and empathize with how tough and discouraging the job search can feel, especially when you're not hearing back from employers.
At Indeed, our mission is to help people get jobs. While we provide the tools and platform to connect employers with job seekers, hiring decisions and outreach are handled directly by employers themselves. That means we unfortunately can’t guarantee a response to every application.

We recommend checking out this resource on our Career Guide about what to do if you're not hearing back from employers: https://www.indeed.com/career-advice/finding-a-job/what-to-do-if-you-arent-hearing-back-from-employers. We wish you the best of luck in your job search!

Hello, Robert! Thank you for reaching out about your interest in dark mode! At this time, the Indeed website does not have this option. We are not sure if this option will become available. In the meantime, we have found Dark Reader for Chrome to work well on Indeed.com: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/dark-reader/eimadpbcbfnmbkopoojfekhnkhdbieeh/. Since Dark Reader is a third-party extension, Indeed is not responsible for color contrast violations when it is enabled. In particular, we noticed that the outlines around form elements such as checkboxes, radio buttons, toggles, and text inputs may be difficult for some people to distinguish. We appreciate your feedback on this, and we hope dark mode will become available on the Indeed website in the future!

Can't leave a bad honest review

Some companies you can't leave a bad review no matter how you word it. Waitrose is an example of this. I had a awful experience with Waitrose but no matter how I word it it's never allowed. You can't say if a manger is awful, can't say if the environment is depressing, can't say if you were bullied. I worked nights at Waitrose were the manger didn't allow anyone to talk, if your caught talking your separated. Staff constantly leave. But you can't say any of this all your allowed to say on Indeed is what you did in your day basically. So nights at Waitrose all I can say that indeed will allow is went in filled shelves, threw rubbish away went home. That helps nobody.

This site must use AI, as in Artificial Ignorance. I read some of the reviews, and I am not alone.

In my Notifications section, it says there's a great match for you. Then right below it, there's a notification that I have applied for the position (uuugh).

There's no sense in blocking the jobs because it lacks the ability to do so. The same jobs, over and over. What a waste of my time.

Hi Ray, Indeed is a self-service platform, which means account holders are responsible for creating, managing, and monitoring their sponsored jobs and associated spending. This includes keeping track of active sponsorships and making any needed changes to pause or close jobs in order to avoid additional charges.

We would also like to clarify that daily budgets on Indeed are not a strict per-day cap. Spending can vary from day to day depending on job seeker traffic and performance opportunities. Rather, daily budgets are averaged over a 30-day period, which means charges on a given day may exceed the selected daily amount while remaining aligned with the platform’s budget framework over time.
