Bus arrived 40 mins late with no warning. Cabin was freezing and untidy. By far the worst bus experience I have had in Ireland

Very disappointing experience with Green Bus.
I accidentally booked the wrong journey for my mother because I did not realise from the booking that she would need to change buses. My mother does not speak English, so changing buses by herself would be extremely difficult and she could easily get lost.
As soon as I realised the mistake, I tried to explain the situation and ask for a cancellation/refund. The ticket was booked by mistake and we cannot use it.
I understand that companies have terms and conditions, but I expected a little more understanding and flexibility in a genuine situation like this. Very disappointing customer service and booking experience.
Me and my wife had an absolutely disgusting experience today on the 6.15pm (750) bus from Dublin airport.
1st problem was the driver not letting on a young lady at 6.14pm she was nearly crying walking off.
The main issue is the driver who drove a 15/20 minute walk past our stop as we ran up to tell him he didn't stop at our location scholarstown park. He then proceeded to call us liars saying he said anyone for that stop when he DID NOT say such a thing. Not only that he left us on a mucky grass verge in torrential rain during a yellow thunder warning with 4 luggage bags
A truly terrible and deeply angering experience.
We are formally Requesting a full refund for this despicable and disrespectful service today.

Excellent driver considering the traffic rush hour Friday evening

An hour and a half late, bathroom ruined from a previous trip so no one could use it and the whole bus reeked.

First time taking and booking the bus from Dublin red cow luas to Ennis 3hr+ journey I pre booked my ticket for €15.50 with my young adult card . The bus driver refused to accept my ticket or let me on the bus because I genuinely lost my leap card but you had already PAID for my ticket and was able to prove it it and prove I was a student I even had a picture of my leap card with my picture and name . He almost didn’t let me on the bus saying he was already delayed and told me to wait for the next bus which was an hour . I begged him to let me on then he charged me €29 on top of the €15.50 I already paid . The entire bus had a strong smell of urine almost unbearable stench I had to put up with the 3hrs plus. I emailed customer service to get my refund on the €29 they said they would only refund €15 and compared me to other people who use other peoples cards I emailed them back to says I can show proof I’m not using another persons card but they ignored me . I only got refunded €15 even tho the original amount was €15.50 . They couldn’t even get that right . Terrible customer service service they weren’t even apologetic for my experience and found them a little cheeky in their emails . Worst first experience
Since I am not able to reply to green bus I will reply with an update . You emailed me back once and when I responded that I wasn’t satisfied with the decision and gave my reasons as to why I received no response for two days and had to call Frances on your customer service team and ask for someone to email back . Eventually I then had to write up a FOLLOW up email when I THEN got a response and everything I said was ignored and a “suggest you check your bank” message was emailed to me. I also did explain how I misplaced the card and genuinely couldn’t find it when the driver asked for it . My story had never changed and I have no reason to lie clearly there was a lack of understanding and communication on your side .

16th August 2026 03:05am bus (kildare town to airport ) didn't turn up resulting in a £144 taxi fare, was at the bus stop at 02:50 and the app ''live tracker'' showed the bus pin at Monasterevin so we though it was on route but by 03:17 the bus hadn't turned up and the tracker pin never moved. Had to get a taxi or would have missed flight.

Booked the 1.35 bus and it didn’t show up till 2. No apology or explanation for the extreme lateness - don’t think is acceptable for a private company that prides itself on good service to the airport. Unfriendly driver. Will be going with city link next time. €24 single from Limerick to Dublin airport I think is a rip off, at least be on time if you charge that much

We accidentally left our suitcase on the coach. We couldn’t get through to the office as it was a Sunday which is understandable. The drivers of other coaches were very helpful and with the help of Sriram we got our bag back, same day after a couple of hours.

On August 6th 2026, at 20:20, I was about to enter the bus, looking for my online booking in the e-mail. The driver (a white, non-Irish male in his late 40s) just closed the door in front of my face. While the door was closing, I was shouting that I am going to Kilkenny, open the door. I knocked on the door window. But the driver deliberately started off on great speed and almost knocked me off on a pedestrian crossing when I ran out to stop the bus, waving to him. I barely managed to jump aside as he was driving at a very high speed. The driver acted very agressively, rudely, and disrespectfully. While the door was sliding to close, I shouted to him to open the door that was going. By reckless high-speed driving over the pedestrian crossing, he endangered my life. The hot line was unavailable. When I rang, the prerecorded message was to leave my message after a signal, which I started doing, but was cut off after a few seconds. I am now left to wait for another bus stranded in a middle of nowhere in light clothes.
P.S. I will update my review once the company addresses this situation.

Bus was 45 mins late! Air conditioning didn't work properly, so we were all sweating. missed our connection to the airport and had to wait another hour for the next one.
Driver also sold me the wrong ticket - I asked for Dublin Airport but he sold me a ticket to Dublin City so I had to buy another ticket for my connection, which ended up being more expensive.
I was travelling from cork to kilkenny yesterday and left my bag on the bus . I rang customer service this morning and spoke to JOSH ,who was fantastic. so efficient. He had my bag and organised getting it back to me . Thank you Josh ,
I was sold a ticket from Limerick to Dublin airport. The bus was late so missed the connection at Red Cow inn. Was told by a Green Bus advisor there I should take a taxi - not that one was to be found. The timetable there was wrong. I eventually got a taxi at great cost, nearly missed my flight. Contacted customer service - they told me they would refund the ticket but didn't - just offered me a voucher which I will not be using as not worth risking missing a flight. Terrible service and company. Don't use!. I see their reply to my review - no apologies, just lies. Why would I make this up? My bus departed at 9.35, it wasn't due at 9.35! Absolutely clueless reply Dublin Coach!

Naas to Dublin Airport.
Bus arrived 30 minutes late, timetable not dependable.
Bus was tired looking and grubby.
Wouldn't be inclined to touch anything onboard.
It was the 18:43 bus from Naas cemetery to Dublin Airport on Friday 24 July.

This is a disaster- booked a bus from Kildare Village to Dublin Airport today at 18.05 which was supposed to take just over an hour which included a connection at red cow. However bus didn’t arrive at Kildare Village until near 18.30 and of course connection at red cow missed. In all it took 2 hours + which is double the scheduled time::::this was a disaster - flight missed.
I took the service Limerick-Dublin city centre (departure 12.15). No aircon (during heatwave), smelled of urine (many passengers have pointed this out, are no steps being made to resolve?), floor under seat was sticky as when liquids spill and are not cleaned. Will not be reusing.

Re-writing this because my anger might have taken away from the point.
The lovely customer support responded to say the reason they need you to enter your details several times in the app is because they don’t store personal details. This is actually hilarious because ofcourse they store customer details, if details weren’t stored logging wouldn’t be possible. If details weren’t stored , I wouldn’t be shown my card details as I put in an order just to AGAIN be asked to fill them in again. Every single booking app uses security measures to keep card details safe- needing a customer to enter them all over again is a measure that would have been understandable 2 decades ago.
So the idea that you build a horrible to use app and don’t have the desire to make it easier for your customers to use remains unchallenged by your customer service’s inability to understand actual data storage vs data security.
But keep up the snarky responses , those are definitely helping the fact you barely have 2 star rating across review platforms.

WARNING-do not use this service. The unfortunate few times I’ve had to use this because jj kavangh or the train has been booked it’s been a complete disaster..the bus is NEVER EVER EVER on time, you cannot rely on it (it might also just not turn up)..also very dirty (last one I had to take stank of urine)..seriously, you’re better off hitchhiking than taking this bus…(EDIT..@dublincoach…sat here in Dublin airport …MISSED FLIGHT because of your two delays today (Kilkenny-red cow/ red cow dublin airport), so thanks for that, gonna cost me a few hundred euro..EDIT 2..got another wonderful response from @Dublincoach saying “we were only 23 mins late”…what they fail to mention is my original arrival time at dublin airport was supposed to be 15.30..because of the two delays I arrived at 16.31..that’s over an hour delay. If you can “see my booking”, you know exactly what I’m talking about

I was traveling back to Newbridge on your 20.30service when the driver told me to hurry_up!!! and board, he then drove off on the outside lane of a two lane dual carriageway, I made a comment about this and he did not like it at all, and last Monday on the same route I was traveling back to Newbridge he was driving and when he saw me waiting he slowed down partially, and then sped off. leaving me to wait for an hour for another bus, he is of far eastern extraction, as a pensioner I find this behaviour the height of arrogance and ignorance, and want you to know about it Michael (0877697879
Got the bus from Dublin to Abbeyfeale, the driver made the experience a 5 star review as he was personable and friendly:-) the toilet was not working and the bus smelt of urine:-( He kindly stopped at the services and we still made our destination on time:-) His number was 412 and I’m sure he’d prefer to be driving a clean non smelly bus too!
