WARNING: Zero security against identity theft and no support for police investigation
Do not buy cars or trust dealer profiles on mobile.de. Criminals easily stole my Danish dealership's identity and CVR number, and mobile.de approved their fake account without proper verification.
Even though the fraudulent account has now finally been closed, mobile.de’s support and security team have been completely unhelpful. They refuse to assist with providing data or cooperating with the police investigation regarding this identity theft.
Their lack of verification allows scammers to operate freely under real businesses' names, and when fraud happens, they leave the victims completely on their own without support. Unsafe platform for both legitimate dealers and buyers. Avoid!

Very disappointing experience with mobile.de – inadequate buyer protection

I used mobile.de to purchase a Daihatsu Terios from Autovision Möllmann, a professional car dealer in Germany.

The vehicle’s advertisement did not mention any significant corrosion or previous accident damage, and the photographs did not show these problems. However, after the vehicle arrived in Portugal, I discovered visible rust bubbles/corrosion on the right-side wheel arches, as well as other signs suggesting previous repairs.

I contacted the dealer and provided details of the problems. The dealer’s response was simply that they were not aware of the defects, and they refused to take responsibility.

I tried to resolve the matter amicably and asked the dealer to reimburse €799, which is the cost quoted for repairing the corrosion that was not disclosed in the advertisement. I gave the dealer several opportunities to resolve the matter, but so far they have refused to accept responsibility or provide a satisfactory solution.

What is particularly disappointing is the role of mobile.de. This is a major platform used by international customers who rely on the information provided in professional dealers’ advertisements. Buyers should be able to expect accurate descriptions and meaningful protection when serious defects have not been disclosed.

In my case, I bought the vehicle based on the information presented on mobile.de, paid for international transportation to Portugal, and only discovered the corrosion after the car arrived.

A professional dealer simply saying that they “did not know” about significant defects is not an acceptable answer when those defects were not disclosed in the advertisement.

I believe mobile.de should take greater responsibility for monitoring professional sellers, investigating substantiated complaints and protecting buyers from misleading or incomplete vehicle descriptions.

My experience with the seller was very disappointing, but I am equally disappointed with mobile.de for not providing an effective solution or adequate protection as a buyer.

I would strongly recommend that anyone buying a used car through mobile.de, especially from abroad, carry out an independent inspection before completing the purchase.

Very disappointing experience. What should have been a straightforward vehicle purchase turned into months of unnecessary stress. I experienced serious problems with the export registration process and have still not received the return of my guarantee deposit despite repeated attempts to resolve the matter.

Communication after the sale was poor, and I ultimately had to seek legal assistance. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this dealership.

I spoke on the phone and via text with Wojciech Kozlowski about a 2023 Dodge Ram 5.7 petrol. He was very prompt and very kind in his responses, patient in answering all the questions I asked him. He also helped me install a LPG system on the car, telling me to wait another week for a state-of-the-art system, something I don't know how many people would have done. In addition, I had the feeling that I was talking to a friend, not a stranger I had never met. I can only recommend him as a very trustworthy business partner! ☆☆☆☆☆
