Serious issues hidden behind “as is, where is” terms

The main problem with this purchase was the actual condition of the machine, which was not transparently presented in the auction listing. Significant defects only became apparent after the auction was completed, when there was no longer any realistic possibility to reconsider the purchase.
Only after this did further issues arise regarding missing documentation, which again had not been clearly disclosed in advance and required repeated follow-ups to clarify.
When these concerns were raised, Surplex’s response was limited to repeatedly citing the “as is, where is” clause, without addressing the substance of the problems or offering any meaningful support or mediation. Communication felt defensive rather than solution-oriented.
While the auction platform and payment process functioned correctly, once serious issues appeared, all responsibility was shifted entirely to the buyer, despite substantial auction and buyer fees being charged.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Surplex to buyers who expect transparency regarding machine condition or any form of post-sale support.

Surplex is highly cheating

Surplex is highly cheating! Never make auctions!

We have won an auction on a high value product. Surplex pushed immediately to pay and were quite responsive in warning penalties if we create any delay. That is all fair so far.

But shipped is scrap, a complete different product which is not what we have auctioned and paid for.

We claimed immediately, but since then no any response. Neither phone, nor contact persons, nor so called "chat-boot", email contacts is working or reachable. Just nothing.

WARNING - SURPLEX STOLE €2,000

SURPLEX STOLE €2,000 FROM US – as a so-called “VAT deposit” despite fulfilling all requirements for a refund.

I purchased goods within the EU with a 0% VAT intra-community supply. Surplex charged an additional 21% VAT deposit with a promise to refund it upon submitting transport documents.

I asked both via email and on-site in the Czech Republic if self-collection would be an issue – they confirmed it’s not a problem as long as I provide CMR and transport proof.

I submitted a CMR, Entry Certificate, video of the loading in the Czech Republic, video and photos of unloading in Poland, and even a Google Maps screenshot confirming the Polish delivery location.

The goods are physically in Poland and being sold here.

Despite all of this – Surplex did not refund the VAT deposit and hasn’t issued any official document regarding the withheld amount. It's been more than two months.

A warning to all EU buyers: Surplex does not honor its own VAT refund policy. This feels like intentional misinformation and improper withholding of customer funds.

This transaction is now ending in a loss for us due to their dishonest handling.

not to be trusted

not to be trusted, will never return your deposit or advance payment no matter what goes wrong. Instead of abiding by their own published Terms and Conditions and refunding, Surplex will offer you to go to Court (in Germany).

Company to be absolutely avoided

Company to be absolutely avoided. Unfortunately, I was totally ripped off and I hope with this review to foil the scam for other unfortunate people. Goods are sold sight unseen means that if the goods don't work, are broken or missing parts they take no responsibility and therefore literally make you throw money away. Avoid them absolutely lousy at everything. UPDATE What they say in their reply to my review is false. Obviously I contacted the customer service they quote and as a response I got that the sales formula is seen and liked without warranty so they don't recognise anything. Don't be intimidated, go to a consumer association who will assist you legally and free of charge. Don't give in to their aggressive way of doing things.
