Disappointing tyre clearance on the Standert Kieswerk.
I bought a Standert Kieswerk partly because of the advertised tyre clearance and the versatility that comes with being able to run wide gravel tyres.
Unfortunately, the actual clearance at the rear is much tighter than I expected. In my case, I was running a 45 mm tyre, so already below the advertised maximum. Even then, due to normal wheel and tyre flex while riding, the tyre made contact with the chainstay. This caused visible paint damage and also a small groove in the frame.
I contacted Standert and provided photos and videos of the issue. Their conclusion was that this was not considered a product defect and that the damage was not covered under warranty. They did offer a €100 voucher as a gesture of goodwill.
What I find most disappointing is that a bike advertised with clearance for up to 50 mm tyres can already suffer frame contact with a 45 mm tyre in normal use. In my opinion, tyre clearance should include enough margin for normal tyre and wheel flex, tolerances and real-world gravel riding.
The Kieswerk itself is a very nice bike and it rides really well, which makes this situation even more frustrating. However, based on my experience, I would be very cautious about running wider tyres on this frame and I am disappointed with how the issue was handled.

Kreissäge RS: A huge disappointment and non-existent customer support
I purchased the Kreissäge RS frameset in August 2025. As a professional bike mechanic working in a shop that carries top-tier brands (Cervélo, BMC, Orbea, Cube...), I set up and build high-end bikes on a daily basis. I had high expectations for this Standert, but its real-world handling turned out to be a mechanical nightmare—something I’ve never experienced on any other bike.
Key issues observed:
Catastrophic fork flex: As soon as you get out of the saddle and lean the bike even slightly, the fork flexes so much that the brake rotor rubs violently against the caliper. Out of the saddle at full power, it sounds like a clanking tin can.
Unstable and dangerous steering: The front end becomes vague and erratic under load. It’s extremely unsettling and, honestly, quite scary.
In my opinion, the aluminum frame itself isn't the issue: it's the carbon fork, which is very poorly made and severely lacks lateral stiffness.
The worst part is Standert's response:
After reaching out to them directly to find a solution to this obvious flaw, I was simply told that it was "normal". For a €2,000 frameset, that is completely unacceptable.
Verdict:
After less than a year, I ended up stripping the bike down and moving all my components onto an aluminum frame from another well-reputed brand. Instant result: zero rotor rub, a rock-solid front end, and perfect stiffness.
In short: €2,000 spent on a poorly designed product and customer service that sweeps safety issues under the rug. Save your money.

Nice bike - bad paint job
First of all the bike is comfortable and still feels fairly aggressive so it works for me both for bikepacking as well as racing. I obviously like the fact that it’s steel and has a threaded BB.
Also with its classic look and paint job it looks very good…until it does not! Unfortunately the paint starts to go off in different places without reason. It’s just badly painted on the frame and falls off. Thats extremely disappointing for a bike this price and supposedly made for adventure. I guess it will get worse over time. Never experienced that with other brands. No support from Standert since paint is not part of the warranty. Wouldn’t recommend this bike bc of that - looks matter especially for this price.

Bad experience turned into a good one
I ordered a bike from Standert on April 3rd. I was really excited about it. After a lot of trying to communicate with Standert with no real succes I got the a message after six weeks that there was an error in the system and my bike was no longer available. These things can happen, but I would except some more communication and transparency from Standert. Updates about the process for example would help a lot.
Moving of the warehouse and changing phone system is understandable, but not a good enough excuse for the lack of communication i’ve received.
Luckily Josh turned my experience around and helped me a lot with a solution. He was really helpful and communication was much better.
Thanks Josh!

Months-long warranty process, constant chasing, no reliable follow-through
I’m very disappointed with Standert’s handling of my warranty case for a faulty left SRAM shifter. I first reported the issue in November 2025 and provided the requested information. From there, the process dragged on for months, with slow responses, unclear ownership of the case, and repeated requests for details I had already shared.
I was instructed to send parts in, then later told additional or different parts were needed for the warranty claim. The case also appeared to change hands, and I repeatedly had to follow up for basic status updates because nothing was communicated proactively.
In March 2026, I was told a replacement shifter was “on the way.” However, by April 2026, 7 weeks later, I still had not received it. When I asked for an update, I was again asked to provide the order number or alternative email to locate the shipment, despite the long email history and previous confirmation. As of today I have still not received a response to my two latest emails from last week.
At this point, the issue isn’t just the defective part. It’s the lack of competent warranty case handling and logistics. A premium brand should be able to run a warranty process with clear instructions, consistent communication, and accurate tracking. Instead, this has been a months-long, frustrating experience that has eroded my trust in the company.

Great!
I’ve had a truly great experience! The bike is of excellent quality, and you can really tell that attention has been paid to both details and materials. The design is unique and really stands out, which I absolutely love. On top of that, the customer service has been exceptional – quick responses, very helpful, and a genuine sense that they truly care about their customers. I cannot imagin bying a bike elsewhere. Highly recommended!

Great-looking bikes, but disappointing durability and aftercare.
I purchased a Pfadfinder around five years ago (new from Standert) and recently discovered cracks in both chainstays. Notably, neither crack is near a weld, and two independent bike shops were surprised to see both fail simultaneously. The likely causes suggested were a manufacturing defect, material inconsistency, or a design-related stress issue.
The bike has never been crashed or mistreated, has been regularly serviced, and always stored indoors in dry conditions. I’m also familiar with maintaining steel frames and have taken appropriate care.
Customer service was polite, but the response felt dismissive (including: "Its always sad when a bike dies :’(" within the initial response...). The issue was attributed to general wear, with links to maintenance guidance shared, and I was offered a 10% discount on a replacement frame. After further exchanges, it was made clear that as the bike was outside the two-year warranty so no additional support would be considered.
For context, I spoke with other cyclists and comparable manufacturers, where a more flexible, case-by-case approach is common - often including goodwill replacements, cost-price options, or “crash replacement” discounts of around 25% for issues close to the warranty period.
While I’ve really enjoyed the bike itself, this experience has reduced my confidence in the brand’s aftercare, and I’ll be looking elsewhere in future.

Scope Wheels- decent price but unnecessary delay
Didn't realise that Standert sold Scope wheels till I upgraded my Pfadfinder alloy wheels. The price was right and I live in Berlin so great: I went to the shop and ordered them and was promised they would be ready for pickup in the next couple of days. Unfortunately, I had to remind them after a week of waiting.

Best bike ever!
I'm from Belgium and ordered a Standert Kreissäge in the Fresh RAW execution at the beginning of this year. I was in contact with Marlon and the ordering process went very smoothly. All my questions were answered, including those about changing the wheels. A proposal was made for the beautiful Scope carbon wheels, which I am extremely happy with!
The delivery was in two parts: first the bike and then the wheels, but that all worked out fine with a little help from my son. Following a recent price reduction, I was even promised a refund. I haven't received it yet, but I'm confident that this will be sorted out soon.
The bike itself is a dream come true for me. I took it for its first few rides and the difference with my 12-year-old Canyon is remarkable. The shifting is a real joy, and the agility of this Kreissäge alu-bike is top-notch. It is a race-ready machine with modern features and classic aesthetics. I love this bike so much
Keep up the good work, Standert Team!

I purchased a frameset.
I purchased a frameset.
There was an issue where some parts were missing, but they shipped them to Japan later.
I also received helpful advice for assembly.
They handled both the issue and my questions with great care.
It's a trustworthy shop where you can shop with peace of mind.

I recently bought a Standert Kreissäge…
I recently bought a Standert Kreissäge RS through Standert’s own website.
The purchasing process was easy and very straightforward. Huge props for being able to choose your own components, groupset, wheelset, stem length, handlebar width, etc. That’s something many other brands could definitely learn from.
Then comes the waiting game. Waiting for your dream bike naturally has no limits, but my wait ended up being 14 weeks. During that time, I missed a few more updates from Standert and a bit more “hand-holding” as a customer – that would have been appreciated. Luckily, Standert completely agreed and really took this feedback on board.
I especially want to praise Josh, who throughout pretty much all 14 weeks was friendly, extremely service-minded, and incredibly fast at replying to emails. Huge shout-out to you, Josh – keep up the great work!
When the bike finally shipped, delivery with DHL was almost day-to-day, which was fantastic. The bike was very securely packed in a high-quality cardboard box.
The bike speaks for itself – truly a dream bike. I love the fact that it’s made in Europe. I can’t wait for spring to arrive so I can get it out on the road.
Thanks to Standert, and to Josh, Max, Marlon, and Carlo.
See you next time I visit Berlin!

Excellent throughout.
Been a long time desire to get a road bike, like proper one but without getting into the usual carbon stuff we find nowadays.
I am very happy I found a somewhat sporty steel bike (triebwerk, which looks to be between endurance and racey), looking classic but being modern at the same time. Received the bike August 8th 2025 and it's now november 8th - almost completed 5000km. Never rode this much. Bike feels lively, very responsive, corners fast, and is also a treat to look at. Cannot regret this purchase as I never rode as much as I am now with this.
At the Berlin showroom, staff is very friendly so buying experience was also excellent. Yeah in a vacuum the bikes may appear a bit pricey but I will not regret any cent I have put in there, this is well priced for high end steel in nowadays money, on par with what you see in the bike insdustry nowadays; so just this one is very good value for money.
I have not serviced the whole bike yet so just cannot talk through the home mechanic stuff. I am though a bit scared of internal routing on a steel bike, espcially around the bottom bracket area. But these are technicalities, does not detract from the riding experience.
On a side note, I bought a showroom bike (so with also some discount applied), therefore I cannot comment on the lead times in case you order brand new, or shipments, as the bike was already assembled and Standert just took a couple of days to perform few checks before I could go back home with my purchase from the Berlin showroom.
All in all, a well earned 5 stars.

Send me a video Mr. Standert
I loved the online interface and the received package. But experience could have been made better with a personal video showing step by step how to assemble. Also did not appreciate lack of help when 1 component did not fit based on size estimate. Can’t you have some flexibility to exchange components or credit toward ordering replacements? It’s a gamble to know exact fit from an online order.

Super helpful
The team at Standert made ordering my new bike easy as can be. Josh was very helpful answering all my questions. Can't wait to get on my new Kreissage RS!
