Total disaster
In January 2026, we booked a camper through this company in Porto, Portugal, with the intention of traveling for three weeks around the country. During the booking, I explicitly requested a bike rack, as we planned to drive our own car to Porto with our two bicycles mounted on the back. In other words, we wanted to take the bicycles with us during the camper trip so we could also make cycling excursions. An email confirms that a bike rack would be available on the camper.
However, upon collection, there was no bike rack. The female manager showed no understanding of our situation and was particularly rude. There was no form of compensation or alternative offered, except to place the bicycles inside the camper, which risked damaging a) the bikes, b) the camper, and c) negatively impacted the trip, as there was no space left inside to move around. Additionally, the camper lacked navigation, the fridge was too dirty to touch, and several windows and insect screens were broken. I would not recommend McRent Porto to anyone
