We are disappointed to read this review and would like to clarify the circumstances for anyone considering MCPI Hosting.

No issue with the hot water or any other maintenance concern was reported to us during the guest's three-night stay, despite our team being available throughout. Had a hot water problem been reported, we would have investigated it immediately.

The payment referred to in this review was not an arbitrary or unauthorised charge. Following check-out, our cleaning team documented damage to a wardrobe handle, substantial additional cleaning requirements, and the property being left with lights and the immersion heater switched on at a high temperature.

The guest was contacted about the documented issues and given the opportunity to resolve the associated costs voluntarily. After the charges were disputed, the costs for the additional cleaning, handyman repair and additional energy usage were deducted from the security deposit in accordance with the booking terms.

We operate security deposits precisely so that documented damage or exceptional post-stay costs can be dealt with fairly rather than passed on to the property owner. We take deductions seriously and do not make them without supporting evidence.

This property consistently receives excellent feedback, and the stay itself passed without any complaint being made to us. We remain confident that the post-stay charges were reasonable, evidenced and applied in accordance with the agreed booking terms.
