Astonishingly rude staff
After paying for their colour consultancy a few weeks earlier, I went to buy the paint and pick up some colour samples. They had one member of staff in the entire shop who spent his time following a customer, who didn't even know what colours she liked, around the shop. No one who came in afterwards could buy anything for a long time as he ignored us.
Eventually another member of staff entered from the back of the shop and after barking something about breaks, she barged past me to serve people who had come in later.
Pat McDonnell Paints have to have some of the rudest staff I have encountered. A little customer service training would go a long way. Or maybe just staff who want to be there!
But, thankfully we have choice and can choose a hardware shop that sells paint a short distance away. The other shop staff were so friendly and competent that I have no reason to ever return to Pat McDonnell Paints.

Absolutely amazing
Absolutely amazing. I ordered varnish at 7:20am. Aidan dropped it to my door at 8:26am THE SAME DAY! Literally an hour later. Delivery was also FREE. Friendly service. Smart looking van branding. I cannot recommend enough. I don’t think I could possibly order paint from anywhere else after this! I had never even heard of this company before this morning when I went looking for a specific varnish that only they seemed to stock. Absolutely delighted

Exterior house painting
I am planning on painting the exterior of my home but I could not find the color I wanted. Pat McDonell paints had the color and came in cheaper than alot of others. It was really easy to order online and to my surprise they were at my door the next working day. Lovely people, exceptional service and fair prices 👏

We had a very positive experience with Pat McDonnell Paints in Raheen and, in particular, with Darius.
We initially had an issue which could easily have left us disappointed customers. However, the way Darius handled the situation was exceptional. He listened to our concerns, took the matter seriously and went out of his way to find a solution for us.
What impressed us most was the genuinely personal and professional way he dealt with everything. Rather than simply resolving the issue, he completely turned the experience around and left us feeling that our custom was genuinely valued.
Good customer service is easy when everything goes smoothly, but I think the real test is how a business responds when something goes wrong. Darius handled our situation brilliantly and has turned what could have been a negative experience into one that has made us loyal customers of Pat McDonnell Paints.
He is an absolute credit to the Raheen team, and we would have no hesitation in recommending them.
