McCains have some of the best chips going however the cheese and onion vibes smell like sick, the whole house stinks of it like two weeks after you’ve cooked them. The Gastro triple cook chips are excellent in the air fryer 20 minutes and 200 degrees, however I only buy them when supermarkets reduce the price to £1.67 per bag. The naked oven chips are too greasy for me but the fries and home chips are the best.

I found a extremely strange shape in my Quick Chips.
This company gas gone downhill.
They used to compensate you but now they cant be bothered to keep good customers.

After sending a photo of a frozen teabag impaled on a chip I was surprised at the lack of response from McCain. You would have thought it would have been priority to see how this alien object made its way in to a bag of frozen chips. After filling out the online form and providing all the information required (inc photo) I have still not had a response. Obviously we didn’t eat the chips as goodness knows what is going on in the factory! but this has raised our concerns about food hygiene standards. I’m not sure I will look at frozen chips in quite the same way ever again.

McCain frozen frys are a total Rip Off.. There are so many frys with black staines and the bag is full of chippings!! What has gone wrong!!

McCain used to be the product to go to. But recently, something's changed, like a recipe, and we find their chips disgusting. Wedges are borderline. So We've thrown the products away. Even the unopened packs.

As you have chosen to ignore my last message I give you notice under the consumer protection act 1987and the consumer rights act 2015 as amended selling products which are not fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. You havev14 days to sentbme a voucher or I intend to contact north yorkshire district council in writing regarding your products. You appear not have a quality control system. Any green and bad wedges will suffice it would appear you could not care less what leaves your factory and sent to supermarkets

I recently purchased their specific Air Fryer crinkle chips, as they were recommended on Google as the best .
What a waste of money, DRY, TASTELSS and unedible.
If I could leave NO Stars I would.

I am extremely disappointed with the quality of the McCain product I purchased. The packaging shows a manufacturing date of 02/2026 and an expiry date of 05/2027, so the product should have been well within its shelf life. However, when I opened it today (06/2026), I found that the food was completely spoiled and covered with mold.

This is a serious quality and food safety concern. Consumers trust the expiry date and expect products to be safe for consumption within that period. I request McCain to investigate this issue, improve its quality control processes, and provide a prompt resolution, as such incidents can pose a health risk.

McCain Red Box Tray Lasagna
For the first time I tried a McCain's frozen meal - Lasagne. The first and the last time actually. It should have beef in it, right? Honestly it was predominatly eating plain lasagne with an extremely thin layer of 'beef spread'. It was a shock compared to Aldi's beef lasagne.

I don't like cooking with oil.
I bought triple cooked oven chips with dripping.
Cooked on an enamel tray that was so hard to clean afterwards.
Dripping would have wiped clean with kitchen roll, I had to scrub the tray with a metal pan scrubber to remove the oil.
Not much evidence of dripping.

In the beginning,McCain fries and other products were relied upon by consumers as a quality,affordable product. The garbage you people pass of as french fries these days, is deplorable! I just put your sweet potato fries in the oven to go with the family supper. It's absolute MUSH!!! I pay much more for half a bag of fries already....now, to add insult to injury, it is SHIT!!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY ANYTHING YOU PEOPLE PRODUCE!!! RIP OFF!!!

Absolute Garbage

They taste like nothing, the flavouring congregates where its sprinkled, it doesn't spread.

They taste like neither a crisp or chip...

Avoid...or you'll end up disappointed and hungry...

Just decided to switch back to McCains Hash Browns after years of having to watch my pennies, what a disappointment. I’ve thought for years about how much I miss McCains Hash Browns, now I’ll never buy them again. They’re awful, soggy, bland and the primary taste is now a horrible budget cooking oil.

I thought I would try the ready Jacket Potatoes, these were absolutely dreadful, the potato tasted like powder, my advice, buy baked potatoes fresh and pop in the microwave for 10 minutes, job done, these are awful...Mc Cains should stick to what they are good at....Fries. profit before quality, this company has gone downhill.

I've used McCain Home Chips for several years, but they seem to have changed the ingredients. They're now described as "fluffy"- in fact the inners are too soft and sloppy and seem more like reconstituted potato than actual whole potato.

We have loved McCains roast potatoes for a good few years but suddenly they have hard putty like pieces in them, they are hard and un eatable, not buying them any more. Tescos are more reliable. Hopefully more people will stop buying them then maybe these big companies will stop presuming we will buy any old rubbish!

Thought I'd give mcains vibes a try. Not worth the money, they go cold within a couple of minutes and a lot of faffing about preparing. In my opinion your better off with a tube of pringles.
