What on earth do I have to do to make this company react like an adult business? I'm offering them business a community account. Both their systems and service have been slow witted and lethargic. I answered a question about where I ran this non-profit organisation from. They asked me the same question again as they "couldn't believe" I ran it from home. Why would I need a business premises at rental cost when I'm selling virtual lottery tickets? Besides which, homeworking 21st century!! Nonetheless, I supplied the same answer straight away I work it from home. Their system didn't pick up the answer apparently. So they have to send the enquiry to me again as that's how their useless system works. I complained about all this. I was told they will take 10 days to respond. Not "very sorry sir. When do you need a reply by?" We'll take 10 days, This sums up their local government style approach. Guess what? It's the simple push of a button and they still haven't sent me the enquiry. The enquiry that I send to them immediately that their system failed to pick up. Their glib response is always "would you like to complain" and I haven't even joined them yet. You know what I wouldn't like to complain, I'm sick of complaining. I would like them to get things right first time, show some genuine concern and urgency, and actually behave like a business adult!!
Anand.
Did you not actually read my review? You have actually responded by asking if I wish to complain yet again.
That really sums up your automated non-thinking response. Here is what I would like you to do. Speak to the onboarding manager and tell him to pull his bloody finger out! I'm assuming Lloyds employees do talk to each other? No, I do not want to waste my time complaining for the umpteenth time when you don't actually do anything!

I went into the Cottingham branch of Lloydsbank and was served by Mark Wilson. I had been repeatedly chased by McQueen’s dairy for a payment they claim I never made, but which showed as paid on my bank statements. Mark rang the company and spoke to one of McQueen’s employees to confirm that Lloyds and myself had paid the invoice when I said I had and verified the payment had gone to McQueen’s account from Lloyds. With this help I was able to relax knowing that Mark had sorted the matter for me. At all times Mark was polite and supportive to me and I am deeply grateful for his help. Without it, I would still be in dispute with McQueens Dairies, who incidentally have still to contact me personally to apologise for their error. Thank you to Mark for his excellent service and courtesy.

JOKE OF A BANK. Blocked my card for no reason, and the broken-English guy on their 'chat' said I had to upload a copy of my passport to unblock my card! There has never been any fraudulent use on my card since the account was opened decades ago!
So I am supposed to upload a copy of my ID documents to some dodgy 2-bit outsourced firm in India where most of the customer service people can hardly speak English, just to be able to use my debit card? How do I know the passport details won't be used in ID fraud? How am I supposed to know that this data is held securely in India? Especially given how many data leaks are occurring, even more so in third world countries, and how much ID fraud is occurring in those countries.
For years if this happened Lloyds fraud team rang their customers to check any transactions, and to unblock their cards. But now, customers are supposed to do this instead?! HOW IS THAT BETTER? Lloyds are you having a laugh?
This bank has become appalling. I have now opened an account with the Nationwide just to have a debit card to be able to use! So guess what, Nationwide bank, a competitor, will benefit from the debit card fees on every transaction from now on.
Cannot recommend that anyone opens an account with these clowns. They are going from bad to worse.
Lloyds the idea is that you improve a company and service over time, not gradually make it worse and worse as you have for years now, to the point that it becomes unusable.
REPLY : if Lloyds customer security is apparently taken so seriously, why are you asking customers to upload photos of their passport on a phone, to an outsourced 2-bit operation in India? Can you guarantee (with promised compensation) that these photos submitted by phone to a third party company in India (notorious for fraud), won't be leaked / used in ID fraud? No, you can't!
You mentioned your complaints dept. Pasted below is a recent Trustpilot review (August 2026) regarding your complaints department :
After over 12 weeks resolving a problem causes entirely by this bank incompetence and negligence I still have an attempted fraud attempt which happened during this which remains unresolved.
I’ve emailed them repeatedly, including the CEO.
I’ve filled in online complaint forms.
I’ve told complaints managers of my problem.
Lloyds group response ?
There hasn’t been one.
Complete silence.
I get the usual “cut and paste” responses to Trustpilot reviews I leave - the only responses I’ve had to anything.
They tell me to contact complaints - done that.
Speak to the complaints dept - done that
They say they can’t discuss on Trustpilot - never asked for that.
I’ve asked them to call me - silence, nothing - no calls, letters or emails.
I’ve quite a lot of money sat with this bank - seems it’s time it went to a bank that cares about its customers.
Every dealing I’ve had over the last 4 months with Lloyds has been a shambles.
Uncoordinated systems, staff and management that isn’t really bothered and a CEO who goes on the BBC saying fraud is his biggest concern and when notified of one ignores emails about it.
All talk, seems they don’t care about anything - except your money.
And what do I get after posting the above ?
Did they even read it ?
I think not.
The same lame excuses - we can’t discuss on Trustpilot - I KNOW which is why I’ve asked you to call me !!!
What don’t you understand?
Speak to the complaints dept ! - tried that, but they never come back to me.
I don’t have an assigned complaints manager - you haven’t come back to me with one !
For goodness sake, are you so incompetent?
Whatever happened to customer service?

Awful bank , always takes money out of my account and now I tried to send money to a friend of mine and they fully blocked my card and my online banking app , I just got payed on that card and I can’t do anything with that money, I’m left with 0 money to my name without data on my phone and without food because they decided to block everything. They told me to go into the bank with my passport to unfreeze the card but I work 8-6 every single day and I don’t have time to go to the bank.

I am not one to leave reviews but this service was impeccable so why not.
I had an excellent experience with Mr Bolaji at Birmingham New Street. He was incredibly professional, patient and knowledgeable. I genuinely felt like I was attending a masterclass rather than simply speaking to someone about banking.
I learnt so much about my credit score, how to improve it and the different savings account options available to me. He explained everything clearly, took the time to answer all my questions, helped me open and renew my savings accounts and made sure I fully understood what he was discussing.
I left the conversation feeling much more informed and confident about managing my finances. He is a real credit to the bank and I would highly recommend his service. Thank you so much for such a great service Mr Bolaji, it is well appreciated.

Got to take proof of id into a branch after taking out a Creditcard.
Never had to do this before in my life when taking out a Creditcard. What a pain.
Lived sand house 20 years and sane job 10 years.

Customer service staff (Mary Scottish accent) very rude and unprofessional, again they are quick to take money but it's hill climb to claim the money back.
