I called this company in Liverpool (locksmithoncall24.co.uk) claiming I’d lost my keys and needed a change of lock for my PCV door. They quoted £49 plus £29 for a new lock and VAT. Two Eastern European men arrived and said the lock would cost £150 plus VAT. I insisted this wasn’t what was agreed upon and called the call centre. The agent told me I’d mentioned losing my keys not changing the lock. I demanded a key and she argued with me. The two men then said I needed to pay a cancellation fee of £49 + VAT which wasn’t mentioned on their website. The call centre cancelled my call multiple times and the men suggested I call the police called their bluff and I made a report and they drove off. This is a scam. I should have known when I couldn’t find this company on Trustpilot. Be aware; they were dodgy people!

Turned up an hour late then couldn't do the job. Left us in a mess due to delays to then get somebody else to do the job

Scam company, WhatsApp'd them asking for a quote and when they gave me a price I said thanks. Then they said they are on the way (never gave address) and when I said no, they threatened with legal action. Will be reporting to the police aswell. Well done guys!

This company is a scam - tell you a low price on the phone and then turn up and charge 400 - 600 more for little work

Total scammers. Avoid avoid. Do not pay their disgusting charges or cancellation fee if you refuse.

AVOID AVOID AVOID! Their website claims 5.0 stars rated on Google review but wish I had checked trust pilot! They stated on their website we aim to be with you in 30mins and we waited 49 and had a dog in the house! Turned up to my house quoting £480 said all the work he needed to do. I was outraged stated the lock was over £200 when my dad who was with me and owns properties himself knew the lock was £48! We refused his service and said we would go with another locksmith. Then he tried to charge £49 cancellation fee which I point blank refused and called to complain and refused to pay it when that wasn’t stated when I called for the job. We found another locksmith who arrived in 30mins. They turned up we explained our key was still in the door from the inside so we couldn’t lock or unlock the door they used a device and opened our door with seconds stating we had a dummy handle didn’t charge us for changing locks as it wasn’t necessary and only charged us £100 labour fee! This company isn’t professional and doesn’t know what they are doing! Scammers!

Wish I looked at the reviews first before booking!! DONT USE! Get a legit locksmith.

Like all the other reviews, I was intially quoted £49 + VAT for a simple repair. Upon arrival they said the lock had to be drilled and and it would be £120 + VAT because it wasn't a simple job. Took 5 minutes to drill. I tried to argue the case that a 5 minute job seems pretty simple. Called the office to complain and was met with just a rude person on the end of the line (sounded like the same eastern european that drilled the lock). Showed up in a private car on the day... Seems like a scam to me. DONT USE!!

What makes it worse is it was for an elderly relative...

Absolutely disgusting. Quoted £49. Told couldn’t access a simple yale lock and charged £271! Absolute con merchants, do not use!

Absolutely terrible, quoted £50 online and then tried to charge me £450 for a new lock! Then when I said no thanks they said I had to pay a minimum of £40 for coming out even though they say there’s no call out fee! They then called me on no caller ID and threatened me with debt collectors because I didn't pay the call out fee! DO NOT USE, WASTE OF TIME SCAMMERS!!!

DO NOT USE!!! Was quoted £50 online which then turnt into £220.80 some big Romanian guy so didn’t have much choice 😂 this is a Romanian gang that is scamming people out of there money

Came to fix a patio door locking mechanism and did not repair it properly. Rang them back and they wanted another callout at extortional prices.

Blatant scammers, quote £49 to unlock a door, arrived in a private car with a bag of drills and said both my locks were “anti-lock Pick” then said £250 just to unlock the door.

When I said no all of a sudden there was a call out fee after there website stated “No call out fee”, they then attempted to barrate me via whatsapp/ imessage/ anything I had not blocked.

DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE!

My elderly parents were charged £480 to change a UPVC door lock. He arrived in private car, no works van and although advert said “No Call Out Fee” were told they owe £170 just for him turning up to look at it.
Changed the door lock gearbox and barrel and said it would be another £310 (Gearbox retails at around £30 and euro lock for about £15). There for about half an hour so that’s some hourly rate!!! No VAT receipt, just a World Pay email which was not itemised.
Beware!!!

*UPDATE*
Have had to get a reputable locksmith to look at door as it still wasn’t operating correctly. He was disgusted at the work carried out for the price and even more shockingly, he showed me the gearbox that was charged for and fitted,was clearly a previously used item!!!!!

Haven’t these scammers got any morals or elderly relatives of their own?
