We rented a camper for more than 2.000 euro's and now they filed for a insolvency. Our money is gone and no camper! The website is now inactive as well and they don't respond to any e-mails. We feel very sad and ripped off.
I rented a campervan in early January for almost €2,000. The company changed my pickup location from Freiburg to Stuttgart without offering any alternative. Then, just 14 hours before my trip, they canceled my reservation via email, claiming they had no campervans available.
Obviously, I didn’t travel to Stuttgart and instead rented a camper in Freiburg from another company.
One hour before my trip, they emailed me again, apologizing for the "confusion" and saying that a campervan was now available.
This all happened between February 25th and 27th. During that time, they never answered the phone or replied to any of my emails. And despite everything, they never refunded my money.
Today, the company is insolvent, but what truly matters is how they operated—it was one of the worst business tactics I have ever seen. They deceived me, took my money, and, without a doubt, this is FRAUD in every sense of the word.
I will take every possible action to get to the bottom of this because people shouldn’t be able to walk away unpunished after doing something like this.
This company is a joke.
Pathetic customer service and after reading their FB reviews, I'm now glad it all fell thru.
Took 5 to 7 days each time to reply to my questions regarding renting a van for 4 months.
By the time they replied, the voucher I was looking to use had expired.
Seriously, don't deal with this so called company, you are only asking for dramas 😡
I booked a campervan in early February(travel itinerary is at the end of May), but there were some issues with the rental contract. I wrote to the Freeway, but after more than 10 days, I didn't get any response. I'm worried that I won't get timely assistance if there are any problems during my future trip.
So I wrote to Freeway today to cancel this order, but I don't know when I can get a reply.
We've booked and paid for a 30-day rent for a campervan in October 2025 and have to cancel it due to important matters. Requested refund last year in December and have not received any money until now. Never experienced this company before but is FreewayCamper a scam company?? Can't believe it can be registered in Germany
Booked and paid for late August this year. 20+ days of trip with campervan.
Change in family relations made us have to cancel the trip. We cancel in February
(6 months) notice before trip. And can only get a voucher. No refund of money, and also they take 100euro fee? For what is the fee? Administration job? Service fee? For what exactly… 6 month refund and can’t get money back, and have to pay 100 euro. Disastrous way to handle customers.
I also went with freeway campervan last year and therefor allready am customer but still they don’t care about you.
They took our bond for a pre-existing issue
Stay away from this company. I cancelled the trip for private reasons, and I would get a 100% refund by the agreement. Until today, no refund has been received; there are only excuses.
I rented a camper van with 3 of my friends. Our experience with Freeway Camper was amazing; onboarding, quality of the van, gadgets, the overall experience was 5*, the cooperate company "Autohaus Thomas Rudolph" from Oelsnitz/Erzgebirge, which was our pick-up point, was very professional and kind. We will definitely book the van again for the upcoming summer.

We rented campervan for the first time for our winter vacation and everything was super smooth. From communication with the team to taking over or returning the vehicle. Camper was modern, in great condition and I had a great time with my family. We would definitely book again for summer.

Rented a camper for ski trip in Munich station, overall the experience was a good one, I appreciated that everyone I interacted with spoke English.

My experience with Freeway Camper was positive. They have a great selection of Campervans and RVs. Our vehicle was clean, the team was very friendly, and we really enjoyed our journey.
Overall, I had a great experience. The car was well-equipped, the handover was friendly and smooth, and the deposit was returned according to expectations. We enjoyed the trip in the offseason because prices were much lower than in summer, and there were fewer people everywhere.
Stay away from this Company. They didn‘t have time for a proper handover. The vehicle was poorly cleaned and smelling like urine. The heating did not work. Leveling ramps were missing and the return process is a scam.
Btw. We are still, after 14 months discussing the final invoice because they have send us an incorrect invoice and we are now involving a lawyer. Hate to do this but Freeway is just trying to rip you of.
We‘ve rented the vehicle in Hamburg. The so called „Customer Service“ is centrally managed.
Worst custumer service i have ever experienced. Its as of today (13 oktober 2024) 2,5 moths since our planned trip with a rented camp through Freeway camper and the responses with their custummer service is 3-4 weeks pr. mail. If you call them, you get a different worker everytime, and you cant directly contact someone in charge of your case. We were handed a defect camper, so just after 1 day, we were forced to head back home, and were never given a new camper. Ended out trip 24 hours after its start. We were also forced to pay for the damages. The worst part is them just mooving money around without any explanations. Paid gold insurrance. They just pooped on it, and we had to pay 500 euro more than the 1000 euros deposit. Now because of their unproffesional aprouch, they cant even track back to them pulling us for 500 euros more. We have paid 1500 uros for a 900 euros fix, and i dont expect my 500 euros back... Should be sued for their incompetance...

I recently rented a van from Freeway Camper Milan, and had a very disappointing experience. Despite paying for extra insurance (that explicitly covered body damage), we were charged €900 for a minor scratch. When we returned the van, staff told us the damage wouldn’t exceed the insurance coverage, and they even returned the deposit, but later billed us the €900. We still haven’t received any mechanic’s invoice to justify the charge. The whole insurance coverage feels like a scam.
Additionally, the pickup and drop-off times are incredibly inflexible, which isn’t mentioned during the booking process—only buried in the FAQ section.
On top of that, they charge an additional €189 cleaning fee (we decided to clean the van ourselves as we considered it an unreasonable price). When renting a vehicle, I expect basic cleaning to be included in the rental price, not an extra (and unreasonable) fee.
Overall, a very poor experience with hidden fees and misleading insurance coverage. I would not recommend hiring a camper van with this company.
Scam. We got a car with leaking water tank, manager said it should stop in a few hours because it's just because of the hot weather. Next day we had completely empty tank even before we had a chance to use any water.
The table in the camper was broken at the car pick up, so it wasn't possible to dine in the car. Door step was also broken. But the most awful thing - child car seat was not just dirty, it was peed by the previous customer, we noticed the smell next day after starting the trip.
I reached out to customer support (first day of our trip) but my email was just ignored. I told about the issue to the manager during the car drop off, he apologised and said there will be a partial refund, customer support will contact me. Guess what - nobody contacted me, 2 months passed by our trip. My detailed explanation of the problem in the feedback form was also ignored.
In case someone from FreewayCamper reads this - here is my order number #G8PYE2EVVB, in case you'd like to investigate the case.
- Update after 3 months -

After months of emails and requests, I still got no answer from the Italian branch.
Monica, the Italian customer service, was supposed to send the invoice for the damage being repaired but nothing.
Freeway camper just kept the whole 1500€ deposit for a small hole I’m sure they just put a patch on it since they are not able to provide any have proof of reparation.
