I was very pleased with the clarity of…
I was very pleased with the clarity of the type face, very sharp, though the font could have been a little larger. The art work was interesting, the maps helpful, but I was disappointed in two ways. One, the excellent Introduction by the author that accompanied the initial publication in 2918 I believe was missing, and in its place was a very perfunctory 2-page quasi introduction. Secondly, the bleed-through was noticeable, and I was hoping for the same quality of the Munken-style paper I loved in FS’s “Cicero” of 2025, which almost completely opaque. I’m glad I read the Complete introduction from the original release before giving the book away.

Exemplary service in delivery, packing and ordering
I can’t say enough about my experiences with The Folio Society staff and books. I love them they are beautiful to read and look at on my library shelves. I’ve even started hunting in England and Scotland for books previously published so I can add them to my TBR and have done well in my search. I got Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell and the Haunting of Hill House
I got The Haunting of Hill House and the edges on the dust box could've been cleaner, but the main reason for a lose of stars is the boxset for Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell has a crack in the like paper that covers the box and looks a little dirty, like it had probably been dropped. Because of how it was wrapped I can be fairly sure this happened before shipping. Before this, I had bought Piranesi from them and that had been a great experience, so I'll leave it at a 3.

The Folio Society staff set the world record for quality in packing of books. Their excellent wrapping and packing ensures that the books will be undamaged as they travel from Great Britain to the United States. Well done beyond words!!! While I admit that the cost is often quite high for their books, the quality is most often worth the cost.

Damaged Book Experience
I ordered copies of Perdido Street Station and Piranesi from The Folio Society. I was so sad to find that my copy of Perdido Street Station was somehow damaged in transit, though the packing seemed like it should have been adequate. I emailed customer support, and they got back to me very quickly on a weekend and immediately apologized and sent me a new copy. Two days later, I received that copy in perfect condition with an extra card saying who packed it, which I thought was a nice touch. I have not received Piranesi yet, but Perdido Street Station is gorgeous and very high quality. Very reliable customer service with trust in their customers in my experience, and I will be shopping there again in the future. (I also do book reviews and look forward to posting about this one)

My wife's library
The quality of the book is superb. My wife is a bibliophile, basically having her own library. She constantly comments on the texture of the paper, printing and binding. They are the most prized books in her collection.
