UPDATE:
We reached out to Torqi and they investigated the situation with us and the buyer. The buyer was not supposed to lower the price on site like this! In retrospect, we were also naive for not holding firm on the original bid price.

Torqi offered us a $100 e-transfer to make it right. While this wasn't the full difference between the original bid ($620) and what we were paid in cash by the driver ($400), this was a good gesture from the company.

I'd advise anyone using this service to be prepared to walk away if the buyer/tow truck driver offers anything less than the bid price, and not cave to pressure to accept less.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
At pickup, the driver offered us $220 less than the offer we received through Torqi and completely refused to negotiate. What’s the point of the auction model if drivers can change the bid after the fact? I wonder if he pocketed the difference. Extremely shady service and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

First time using this service, and it was so quick and easy! Your car gets bids from towers, and you get a quote. You then receive a text, and the tower contacts you before arriving. They bring the sales agreement for you to sign, email it to you, and then you get paid! So easy and convenient! Highly recommend!

Very easy to work with. I had to reschedule last moment and they were able to come a couple days later. The tow truck guy did all the work, i didnt even have to start or turn my vehicle!

The whole process was quick and professional from getting a number of price quotes almost immediately from my interest in selling the car to getting the car picked up. I highly recommend Torqi

My sunglasses inside the car i skip on my mind .tow guy come on time price little bit less for check my vehicle bcz he asking exhaust change 2 time but i only change one time bcz downside rust my car that’s why . I feel sad for my sunglasses inside the car . So i don’t know for that bcz my car already scrap it but overall is ok 👍🏻 i miss my car and lot of love and memories . Please any help back to my sunglasses u re thank fully?

I am extremely disappointed with Torqi. I was expecting professional and reliable service, but they failed completely. They did not show up at the scheduled time they promised, which completely ruined my day and wasted my time. If you expect a company to actually respect your schedule and provide good service, do not use them. Highly unprofessional.

Worked as advertised. The recycling company were super easy and flexible to work with. We got paid just before they picked up the car. Practically zero effort on our part.

Update!
I spoke with Meriem from Eco-cycle August 12/26. Not only did she make several attempts to contact me, she called this am, listened to my story and said they would make it right. I work in retail and I was blown away by how quickly I received a response from Eco, and as a retail customer, how quickly they made the decision to make it right.
This is not an Eco-recycling issue, this is a driver from a towing company who acted alone. I’m extremely happy with Meriem and her team!

Experience:
On August 11/26, United Towing showed up to pick up our vehicle for Eco-Recycle, for the agreed price of $500.00. I was clear the engine didn’t work, and Eco advised that was not an issue. The driver showed up, checked the car and said the catalytic converter was “after market” and the engine couldn’t be sold. He offered $150.00, then after we asked him to leave, he started negotiating. Long story short, we ended at $300.00, but felt really pressured by a 4000lb truck sitting in front of our house. Meriem from Eco-recycling was amazing, and we will use their services again. Customer service was amazing!
