I informed the rental company in advance that I only had a Revolut credit card and asked whether this would be a problem. They replied that they were busy but that “we would find a solution” the next day.

When I arrived in Albania, they told me they would accept the card only if I paid an additional €150 for their insurance. When I asked why they had not informed me earlier, they said they had been too busy. I pointed out that writing one sentence explaining the extra €150 charge would have taken exactly the same amount of time as writing that they were busy.

This was crucial information that should have been clearly disclosed before my arrival. Instead, it felt deliberately withheld in order to pressure me into paying additional costs.

I then asked to cancel the rental. They agreed and said the booking would be cancelled. However, they did not cancel it, I was charged the full amount, and I am now trying to recover the money through Discover Cars and my bank.

Very happy with the service from DRIVUS! As someone who has rented many cars in Dubai this company is by far the best I have used. My own car was in the garage and their option for me to extend weekly was extremely useful. Excellent service from all of the workers both face to face and over WhatsApp. Extremely satisfied and will definitely use again in the future. Thank you ⭐️

1. Tyre Blowout on the Motorway and Refusal of Roadside Assistance
While driving on the motorway in the rented vehicle, I experienced a sudden tyre blowout. As provided for under the rental agreement and the insurance terms, I immediately contacted the insurance company. To my dismay, my request was flatly refused because the rent company does not have an assistance service, leaving me stranded and in a dangerous situation on a motorway carriageway.

2. Absence of Mandatory Safety Equipment in the Vehicle
I discovered at this point that the rented vehicle was not equipped with the basic tools required to address such a situation: no tyre-changing tools were present, and the jack provided was faulty. This constitutes a serious breach of the lessor's legal and contractual obligations regarding passenger safety.

3. Out-of-Pocket Towing Expenses
With no assistance forthcoming, I was forced to personally bear the cost of towing the vehicle to the nearest motorway exit. I then relied on the goodwill of a passing motorist who provided the necessary tools to change the tyre.

4. Unlawful Withholding of Security Deposit and Threatening Behaviour
Upon returning the vehicle, your company's representatives subjected me to unacceptable pressure and made explicit threats in order to coerce me into paying the sum of 2,000 Moroccan Dirhams (MAD) as a purported condition for the return of my security deposit. Such conduct amounts to unlawful coercion and extortion.

Just returned from Dubai and received a false photo of damage to our hire car. Thankfully we always take videos and photos at pick up and drop off so we know this damage wasn’t caused by us.
AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.

Again and i still waiting for reimbursement for taxi expenses in Tanger Morocco...they talk a lot but they do nothing. They promised me taxi reimbursement for the car i never rented. There was no car. They tried to scam me at the airport in Tanger. Please do not rent at Drivus watch out.....

WARNING – DO NOT RENT FROM INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR (MUSCAT)

I rented a car through Drivus’ partner, International Rent A Car in Muscat.

When I returned the vehicle, there were no remarks, no damages, and no issues reported by the company. I was informed that my security deposit would be refunded to my account within 30 days after the return date.

The refund was due at the end of January. It is now the beginning of June, and I still have not received my deposit.

Since then, I have repeatedly contacted the company through WhatsApp using three different phone numbers, including their finance department. Two of the numbers read my messages but never respond, while the finance department does not respond at all.

After finding their Facebook page, I noticed that many other customers are reporting exactly the same problem: deposits being withheld for months without explanation and customer inquiries being ignored.

Based on my experience, I strongly advise others to avoid renting from this company until they resolve these issues and start honoring their refund commitments.

If anyone from International Rent A Car is reading this, I would appreciate an immediate refund!!

Keeping customers’ deposits for months while ignoring their messages is completely unacceptable. My experience has been extremely disappointing, and I cannot recommend this company to anyone.

I have done everything possible to resolve this matter through normal communication channels, but I have been ignored for months. If my deposit is not returned, I will continue sharing my experience publicly so that other customers can make informed decisions.

And if justice is not served in this life, I will hold them accountable for their actions on Judgment Day InshaAllah

Stay far away from Drivus!!!! THEY ARE A SCAM AND FRAUD!!! I rented a car in November 2025 in Oman Muscat al Khuwair and paid a 650 euro deposit upon receiving the car. They promised to return my deposit one month after the rental period, but more than six months have now passed, and I have received nothing. They are ignoring my emails and phone calls and are refusing to refund my deposit. Stay far away from this company. I want my money back and I hope to get it through this way.

Good experience, the car was in perfect condition, the staff are polite, they are very clear with the prices and just in case you get a fine, they tell you immediately, they have a easy way to pay in case you require a special thing like a child chair, please you never change!

cars’ condition and fees are generally very good compared to other rentals. They’re solution oriented and helpful. Staff is genuinely working hard to ensure satisfaction, strongly recommended.
