Avoid this airline
If i could select 0 stars as an option I would have...Impossible to reach a human unless you are prepared to wait 3 hours, no call back option given...Canceled our flight to Madrid the morning of our departure date with no explanation and put us on an 11h45pm flight the next day. No way to contact customer support and no one avaliable at Trudeau airport (Montreal is the company base)...Will never fly with them again
Si costano uguale come le altri voli…
Very disappointing experience. We had to pay extra to buy a blanket, which I found unacceptable for a flight service. The staff were also very inattentive and did not properly check whether passengers had received their meals. We had to manage things ourselves instead of getting proper assistance from the crew. Overall, the service was poorly organized and not up to the standard I expected. I would definitely not recommend this airline based on my experience.
Flight from Calgary delayed by 3h .
Flight from Calgary delayed by 3h .
Missed connecting flight to Berlin
Airline representative didn't arrange anything
No hotel no meal vouchers
2 young high school girls from Poland without sufficient English were left alone at Toronto airport without any help .they were responsible for arranging their own accommodation and paying for it. This happen Sept 1 at 11pm . Unacceptable. 2 under age girls left alone in a middle of the night. Classless greedy and zero compassion airlines
Air transat . I will never set a foot on your plane
Service rude
During the flight, while beverages were being served, a flight attendant accidentally spilled orange juice on me. The juice had been ordered by the passenger sitting next to me. The cause was a leaky cup. The incident itself can of course happen, and it was not the flight attendant’s fault.
Unfortunately, her reaction was exceptionally unprofessional. Instead of simply apologizing, she said in an unpleasant tone: “What am I supposed to do, wash your trousers?” She then handed me napkins in a manner that I perceived as deliberately rude.
During my many air travels, this was the first time I had encountered such dismissive behavior from a member of the cabin crew. Later, while observing this flight attendant at work, I got the impression that she performed her duties very quickly, but without due attention or concern for the passengers.
I do not know her name because she was not wearing a visible name badge.
The leaky cup is not a problem for me—such things happen. The problem is the way the passenger was treated. A simple “I’m sorry,” along with a little courtesy and professionalism, would have been enough, and the whole incident would not have been worth mentioning.
Customer support is a mess and applications need work
Flying from SJO to YYC with connection through YUL.
They clearly stated that I needed to check bags more than 24h before take off or I would need to spend more, but then had the option to check bags fully disabled for me UNTIL the check in period within 24h of my flight.
I tried calling their support numbers. A bunch of them did not work at all. The one that did took me through a barely functional NLP agent that, after 5-10 mins of pointless questions tells me there is a 2h wait period for an agent.
Terrible support.
ATV DownGraded Booking, No change in payment
On Web site Booked Dominica trip. Selected Pool view at a higher price.
Air Transat RECEIVED payment then CONFIRMATION down graded room with no price adjustment. Called :05 wait, :45 min later selected to be called back. EST: 2HRS
Still waiting.
Don’t use this airline
Terrible customer service. My son’s flight was delayed so he missed his connection. Air Transat rebooked him on a flight 3 days later without consulting him. There was availability earlier but they wouldn’t allocate him a seat. Also no support to find hotel accommodation for the 3 nights. The agents working for Air Transat pretended to transfer me to another department but put me back into general queue and I had to go through it all twice. Very poor. Don’t fly on this airline.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service, long waits on phone to attempt to change a flexible ticket, a gruelling process. Then when flight was delayed terrible communication, no effort to put my son on another flight, no customer service agents in sight at Toronto Airport, again long wait to get through on phone only to be told they could do nothing we had to talk to the (non existent) desk at the airport.

I had an error with my seat bookings I made through Expedia for air transat. When I called to ask about this I was treated in a very rude manor by the customer support person and was told my request was a waste of time. Very disappointing as I have had good experiences in the past with air transat but this one alone makes me not want to fly with them again.

I’m writing this while I’m still in my flight from Bordeaux to Montreal on flight TS517 Air Transat. I am so upset, angry & feeling ripped off that I cannot wait to state the facts. I paid over CAD 200 to book a seat with a legroom only to find out that it was in the first row after the business class so I do have legroom but then There’s this big overhead divider right infront that makes it impossibile to stand up & pass while the other passengers are sitting…. On top of that, the seat I’m sitting on, beside it being too small both dimensions, is so worn out that it has a BIG dent in the middle & it feels like you are sitting on a metal frame!!! Why did I even pay the EXTRA CAD200 or take AIR TRANSAT in the first place???!!
The only good thing is that the flight attendant gave me a blanket to sit on & make the flight bearable! thank you JUSTIN GENDRON, you are the one good thing that happened to me on this flightI, welcoming, helpful, professional with a BIG smile!! 😊😊
Another thank you goes to the flight director, VALERIE BASCLAIR, who took her time to listen to my complaints & take note.
One last thing, while I was writing this a flight attendant passes by & asks if there’s any trash, I point out that there is some down low, on a little shelf, by the floor, so she “orders” me to pick up the trash & hand it to her, so now I have to bend over in my already squished space to clean up the plane !!
I understand it’s an economy airline, but hey, I paid a bundle then plus to get this horrible seat & squish myself even more !! I’m 62 years old btw…
Please don’t Fly this company
Please don’t Fly this company. Our flight from Montreal to Madrid was cancelled with less than an hour prior notice (at which point we were already about to board the connecting flight from Vancouver to Montreal). We were given 1 60 dollar voucher for 3 people for food and were stranded in Montreal for more than 24 hours until our next flight. Staff is rude and unhelpful on purpose, no rights are explained to you, you are directed to email and website comms. The planes are uncomfortable, no ammenities provided and checked bagagge costs 100€ each way per bag which in the end makes the price not competetive with other much better airlines.
Prehistoric plane
Prehistoric plane (you could tell because it still had an ashtray on the toilet).
We had to do an additional stop to "install fuel tanks" as it wasn't prepared to cross the atlantic ocean (wich raises safety questions...). That caused a delay of 3 additional hours.
No screens, and sockets wherent working so you couldn't charge your phone either. No leg space. Bascially worse than the common plane that you will use for a 2 hour flight.
Staff was rude and either geniuely didn't know or refused to say how much time there was remaining of flight (again no screens to tell you).
On the other way we again had a very small plane this time with screens... but they would charge you 10 pounds for earplugs!
Food was bad and small (8 hour flight 1 small meal +1 snack).
Never again.
Booked air Transat 6 months back from…
Booked air Transat 6 months back from London to Montreal .suppose to be direct flight from London to Montreal , you know what ... They delayed the flight close to 2 hours , plus they added a stop in ice land for refueling for 1 hour.
This bloody plane seems like a local plane ... No entertainment , seats were 3-3 configuration , I really thought we were in Ryanair !!
It's terrible airline ! Definitely will not recommend it !
RIDICULOUS …
Firstly the group staff we so rude and condescending. It’s a shame when people think they have power over customers. Secondly the plane was dirty, floor and trays. Stuck on food which was revolting. I knew it was a budget airline but not to offer earphones for free was the icing on the cake. Seriously on a 8hr flight I had to pay £8 for cheap single use earphones. NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE THIS AIRLINE!!!!
Toronto to London overnight
Toronto to London overnight.
Have to pay for blanket and headphones.
Leg room terrible. Seats too narrow.
It was too hot throughout.
Food inedible.
Staff were fine, but….
Will not make the mistake of thinking I could pay a bit less and have a reasonable service.
Air Transat flight TS206
Air Transat flight TS206, 12.15 on August 10th from Toronto Pearson Int to Manchester.
Firstly, having obviously oversubscribed the flight due to their greed, they threatened to bump people off if volunteers didn’t come forward, this caused fear and distress to our party and many others.
Secondly in over 50 years of flying, the flight attendants on board were the rudest most unfriendly and unhelpful staff I have ever encountered.
The main meal was inedible, breakfast was a cookie and the tv’s stopped working half way through the flight. The whole experience was a nightmare!!
We will never fly with Air Transat again and I advise you not to.
Never again
We flew to Vancouver via Toronto two weeks ago from Manchester. We had a 90 minute lay over before our connecting flight. However, we landed 21 minutes late and Canadian customs were only accepting 50 passengers at a time with 5 minutes in between batches. We were so long getting off the plane we missed our connection. Air transat could not have been any less helpful. They virtually washed their hands of us but did eventually -after 20 minutes on hold and a promise of an email with a later booking-get us on a different airline’s flight (Westjet) 5 hours later. Our luggage meanwhile did make it to Vancouver on the Porter flight we should have been on, and we found it the next day purely by accident at a Porter airline desk. We were given 25 dollars each to spend at either Subway or Tim Horton’s by way of compensation. Never again!!
A nightmare on both sides of the world
An airline which apparently not only does not care about customer service, but will actively go out of their way to excuse themselves despite providing the worst travel experience possible.
Stress, distress and couldn't care less.
Stage 1 - Rome to Toronto.
At the airport in plenty of time for a long flight. Rude and dismissive staff at a very long line for what the signage appears to suggest is the right queue.
After over an hour, with no input from various staff despite attempts at inquiries, informed that this was NOT the queue and there is now little time to get from hall to gate.
A mad rush ensues, with no assistance. Unnecessary, dismissive - and incompetent. As at the other end, informed that large piece of luggage remains in Rome. Baggage receipt subsequently shows the bag leaving Rome the following day - and then nothing from the airline. Thank god for a half-decent courier company and a mate with a home address.
Stage 2 - Toronto to Rome
A flight to Montreal delayed for no apparent reason, and no explanation, means breakneck attempt at connecting flight to Rome. An obviously stressed and tired mother and daughter arrive at gate just on time - to be greeted by a curt - No. Rules are rules.
No attempt to empathise, apologise. Just a shrug - and a passive aggressive: "Well at least you are still alive."
Another stressed hour to try and find out if bags are still in airport - sent to wrong carousel first, followed by more dismissive staff. The bags are still there - just. Despite an emergency line staff member pretending not to be able to hear on a perfectly good phone line.
And then an hour wait for shuttle passage to a hotel ten minutes away.
Lost connecting flight to Singapore. Lost accomodation in Rome. Lost bag. Lost temper. Lost customers - and many of them we hope.
The worst flying experience in 30 years of travel. Strongly advise anyone reading to lose the urge to use this unprofessional, uncaring, unfeeling travesty of an airline.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. Wouldn't help me and just said they would transfer me to another agent and randomly transferred me to baggage?!?!?!?
Wow. This is not an airline I would ever use again.
