Poor aftercare and no communication

Excellent assessment, but extremely disappointing aftercare

I had an excellent experience with my ADHD assessment through CARE ADHD. I was offered an appointment within around two weeks, and the assessment itself was thorough, professional and reassuring. I was diagnosed with ADHD, and I genuinely felt that the assessment side of the service was very good.

Unfortunately, everything since then has been incredibly frustrating.

I was told that there could be around a three-month wait for titration. I completely understood that there was a waiting list, but I have now sent numerous emails trying to find out what is happening and have received no response. I still haven't had any contact regarding starting titration. It is now over three months.

I then contacted the private service to see whether I could pay for the initial titration myself. However, at over £100 a month for medication/prescriptions, this simply isn't financially sustainable for me.

I asked whether I could pay for the initial titration privately and then have the NHS take over my prescriptions afterwards. I was told that the NHS may take over, but there was no guarantee. I was also unable to get a clear indication of how long I would potentially have to wait for NHS prescribing.

This leaves me in a really difficult position. If I knew for certain that the NHS would take over my prescriptions after the initial titration, I would seriously consider paying for the initial stage because, at this point, I'm desperate to access treatment. But I simply cannot afford to commit to more than £100 a month indefinitely with no certainty that the NHS will take over.

The most frustrating part is the lack of communication and clarity. I understand that there are waiting lists and high demand, but when someone has finally gone through the process of getting an ADHD diagnosis, being left without clear information about when treatment will actually begin is incredibly disheartening.

I would still give the assessment itself 5 stars, but unfortunately the experience after diagnosis has been very disappointing.

I really hope CARE ADHD can improve communication around titration waiting times, NHS prescribing arrangements and what patients can realistically expect after diagnosis. Clear information would make a huge difference. At the moment i have no idea if i will be waiting for a further month or year.

I can't fault the service at all

I can't fault the service at all. They delivered on their promises and very timely too.

I was diagnosed in less than 3 months from my request to my GP, which is impressive.

I use this service in my professional career to help other clients, so I'm relieved to see they're still setting high standards

Really positive experience overall

Really positive experience overall. There was a bit of a wait before the process actually got going, but once I was in the system things moved along smoothly.

My practitioner, Maaz, was excellent, friendly, patient with all my questions, and it genuinely felt like he cared about getting things right rather than just moving me through a process. I had to shift a couple of appointment times around other commitments and he was really accommodating about it, no fuss at all.

He talked me through everything clearly at each stage, which made the whole thing feel a lot less overwhelming. Can't fault the care I got.

I had a titration session with Imran this morning. He was really helpful and knowledgeable, and listened well to me and my partner to come to an outcome about titration dosages. Very helpful, and impressed- thank you

Brilliant!

I was unsure what to expect, but the entire service and my expectations of what I had to do throughout the entire process was laid out so clearly and helpfully. When I encountered a tech issue, it was resolved quickly, and the team were so compassionate throughout the diagnosis. I am so glad I was put with Care ADHD through RTC! I was anxious about seeking diagnosis, but Care ADHD really helped every step of the way

Long waits and repeatedly ignored.

What started as initially a positive experience has very quickly (or should I say slowly) gone downhill.

I received my diagnosis in December 2025, a few months after my initial referral and the process was relatively smooth with regular updates and communication.

I was told the expected wait time for titration was around 12 weeks. When April rolled around I had expected something but understood Christmas may have had an impact so waited a little longer.

Then I contacted via the website to update my appointment availability in hopes that would generate an appointment more quickly. The website stated a reply in 2-5 days but I received nothing.

Communication was then released online advising the wait times had increased to 6 months. May came and still nothing. I gave it a few more weeks, still nothing.

I sent another email - of course, no reply.

My most recent email was sent on the 12/8/26, again advised I’d receive a reply in 2-5 days. Nothing.

I have since another email, plus a complaint and now leaving this review in the hope I will get SOMETHING.

Needing to go to these lengths is not something that is conducive for a neurotypical individual and I would strongly recommend not using CareADHD as a private or right to choose provider.

Choose wisely.

Once I got the appointment for an assessment, everything was quick and the clinician was lovely... Until you get past that. At the time of my assessment I was told I would be contacted within a few of weeks to start medication. Well those few weeks have turned into months and I've emailed and used the online form and haven't had any responses to any of them. If I knew then what I know now, I probably would have chosen a different provider.

Right to choose...avoid at all costs!

Avoid at all costs if going down the right to choose path. We have been waiting 6 months since our referral and we are still waiting for an appointment for an assessment. All our paperwork was submitted was over 8 weeks ago and we have heard nothing. No-one ever answers the phone and emails i sent over 4 weeks ago asking for an update remain unanswered. This company only adds to frustration!

They failed to offer me a face to face…

They failed to offer me a face to face appointment, I waited 3 months + despite their obligation to do so. I got so frustrated.
They were extremely hard to communicate with and when I finally spoke to the right person ,the appointment never materialised.
I feel it was a scam ,I was assessed by a nurse and not a psychologist .
The assessor was late to the meeting as well.
I felt it was all to earn money.

Kind and professional approach

My assessor A. G. was kind and patient, she made me feel at ease during the assessment. I received outcome and clear explanation at the end of the session.
Care adhd promptly provided myself and my GP with a written report including next steps and support available.

Thank you.

Absolutely fantastic

Absolutely fantastic, had been waiting 5 years on the NHS, I decided to go thought the right to choose with care ADHD.
They were really quick to get my questionnaires sent to me after my GP sent the referral. It was the next day they emailed me, after I’d sent in all the information they needed, they emailed me that day saying book an appointment. I’ve currently been diagnosed with ADHD we are just on the next step of this journey.

My diagnosis experience

Got my forms within 6 days after GP referral. From receiving the forms to getting a diagnosis took only 4 days. I felt so listened to and validated like I wasn’t alone. Made getting my diagnosis that much better!
Thank you
