Splendid service in every aspect.

Very clear and transparent during the bidding, and excellent follow-up for the payment and delivery. The Dealer did a great job in packing the items carefully and having these shipped and delivered very quickly. A wonderfull experience.

Title: Update — Catawiki’s Own Words Confirm Buyers Can Refuse Delivery and Sellers Still Pay

Following up on my previous review of Order 103284909. Catawiki has now publicly replied here on Trustpilot acknowledging “conflicting information provided by our support team” — but the underlying issue remains unresolved, and I want to summarize it clearly for other sellers:

1. A buyer can simply refuse delivery, and the seller still bears full responsibility.
The parcel was marked “Refused/Rifiutato” by the carrier — an official, dated, signed document. Catawiki’s own support even confirmed in writing: “A parcel marked Refused/Rifiutato indicates the physical item was not accepted at the destination address during a delivery attempt.” Despite this direct admission that the buyer refused the delivery, Catawiki still refused to reimburse my shipping cost and processed a full refund to the buyer — with the payout deduction charged entirely to me.

2. Catawiki’s stated reasons, confirmed in writing: because Support was not notified while the delivery issue was in transit, and because I opted for manual shipping, Catawiki stated in its official email: “Catawiki does not deduct shipping fees from a refunded buyer post-cancellation, nor do we issue platform reimbursements for independent carrier fees.” Once a parcel is returned under manual shipping, “the sale is cancelled, and the buyer is refunded in full,” with the seller absorbing all shipping costs.

What Catawiki failed to acknowledge is that I did notify the buyer directly — repeatedly advising them to contact their local post office, since the parcel was already showing as arrived in-country and awaiting collection. Surely contacting the local postal service handling the actual delivery is far more effective and relevant than contacting Catawiki, who has no control over local

3. As a Private seller shipping from Singapore, Smart Shipping was never even an option. Per Catawiki’s own official policy, Smart Shipping for private sellers is restricted to shipments within the EU only. This left manual shipping as my only possible method — yet I was still held to the same financial risk as if a tracked-shipping alternative had been available, with zero protection when a buyer refuses delivery at their door.

If you’re a seller without access to Smart Shipping, please be aware: a buyer can refuse your parcel for any reason, and you will be the one who pays for it — in full — even with official carrier proof in hand. Private sellers based outside Europe should be especially cautious, as you will have no Smart Shipping option at all, and no protection if a buyer refuses your delivery.

Account Suspended Without Reason

Today, I found that my store account had been suspended. I also received an email saying that unusual activity had been detected and that my account was suspended to protect it.

However, the only change I made was updating my payout method because my previous payout account is no longer used.

The email instructed me to contact the Customer Support team, but since my account has been suspended, I cannot access the Help Center to contact you. I have been trying to reach you and am very anxious.

This is extremely urgent because I have already shipped one order but have not been able to upload the tracking number. I also have two other shipped orders. Since my account is suspended, I cannot communicate with my customers or manage my orders.

Please restore my account and all of its functions as soon as possible. Please reply immediately after receiving this message and help me resolve this issue.
