Useless!

I have been using Colliers as a party wall surveyor. 2 years! Still going on. Made the mistake of using them as they were recommended by NHBC. Absolute joke. Had a different surveyor every month, none of them any good at keeping in touch. Handed over contact to NHBC as they were the only ones they spoke to. Absolute nightmare! An extra 2 years living in a house that's falling down around us.

AVOID

AVOID! COMPLETE SCAM. I have been lied to from the start of my tenancy and had an extra £6K added to what my tenancy should have cost including the sales person lying about the availability of shorter tenancies to then they cancelled my notice when provided and added another month. Complete con. Avoid as many companies who will treat their tenants better in the area.

I’ve been an occupier in XYZ building…

I’ve been an occupier in XYZ building for a few years and I’ve watched it go downhill. Many of the long‑standing staff have gone and standards have slipped and the place can be messy and dirty at times. The current building manager, Chantal, lacks experience. She’s often unhelpful, blunt and appears lazy. The management team as a whole does not come across as professional, which has been disappointing for tenants and visitors alike. I don't think the landlord or managing agent will take these concerns on board and make some improvements soon.

4 weeks - no one has got back to me

Enquired 4 weeks ago online.
Followed up with a call once/twice a week after because I hadn't heard anything back.
Ladies on reception where friendly and polite on the phone - every time said they would pass it to the relevant team as an urgent request. 4 week and still nothing.

Leaving it now. Red flag and would only be sign of things to come.

disappointed in building service

As one of the CEO tenants in this XYZ building, I feel it is important to express my concerns regarding the changes in management. Since the new management company was appointed, I've noted a significant decline in the quality of building management.

The current manager, CH in Manchester seems rather disengaged, often spotted smoking and taking extended breaks. Additionally, she frequently chats loudly in the common areas with another staff member, creating a disruptive atmosphere. This behaviour raises questions about her professionalism and commitment to her responsibilities.

Moreover, it has become evident that she lacks the necessary experience in commercial building management. This inexperience has resulted in operational inefficiencies, including delayed responses to maintenance requests and a general lack of communication with tenants.

As a professional in a leadership position, I understand the importance of effective management and its impact on the overall satisfaction of tenants. It is essential that the management company prioritises hiring skilled and experienced individuals who can truly address the needs of the residents and ensure smooth operations.

I expect an estate agent to manage a transaction fairly — this did not happen here.

Unfortunately, this was a very stressful experience due largely to the estate agent’s conduct. They appeared to prioritise the buyer’s interests at every stage, often at my expense, and failed to act impartially or professionally. My normal experience of moving home is both solicitor prepare a legally binding agreement then a completion date is set. The lack of balanced advice and support caused significant frustration and anxiety to an already difficult situation as I was ordered to sell due to a difficult divorce. I have enclosed an unprofessional email from the Sales Progressor & Administrator that caused me great stress. So much stress I called and was told the buyers had arranged for a sofa to be delivered and internet to be installed. I was threaded the buyers would pullout if I didn't agree to move with less than one week notice. The whole situation became so stressful I had to contact my solicitor, causing extra costs to myself, inform Colliers no date would be made till an exchange of contracts document was agreed between both parties.

The email;
Good Afternoon Lisa,

Hope you are well😊

What day next week could you move out by? I know you couldn’t do this weekend with it been the bank holiday.

We need to have Nicole in as soon as we can next week as she is now sofa surfing with a toddler and dog and has no where else to go.

If you want to give me a call on 01429 812402, I’m in till 5pm😊

Best Wishes

Shannon Lord

Collier Estates

Several months later I was ready to create a new start for myself. I visited Colliers estate agent to help me buy a new home and spoke to Shannon. Im still waiting for the teams help. I would not recommend this estate agent.

Pathetic and border line criminal.

Logged a call with them about an issue. 1 month later no reply. Called them and was put on a que. 2 mins later the call was cut off.

Absolute pathetic. This company should not be able to exist. I'm not surprised they have achieved 1 star ratings.

Doing work at 1am

Doing work that is on a roller gate for a car park so loud for last few nights including mechanical loud tools. I assume so the customers won’t get disturbed during the day but it’s okay for surrounding people who are trying to sleep at 1am to be disturbed

Nick and Sam at the Birmingham branch…

Nick and Sam at the Birmingham branch are absolute JOKES. They have no knowledge of doing business. We applied for buy a property, we could only talk once and after that they did not answer the phone, messages or emails. We contacted their manager to complain about these people, but she has same behaviour. Because of this people we missed the property, i don't think this branch has any intention of selling property or doing business.
If you do not want to work, my advice to you is to leave your place to serious people.
These people are a SHAME for the company, THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE FRAMED ASAP.

Colliers International - useless

Colliers "property manages" for my home owners association. Their level of total incompetence and utter contempt for their customers is unbelievable. They provide managers with NO experience and charge ridiculous fees. How a company like this can stay in business is incomprehensible to me. Colliers employment reviews say they are a good place to work. I can certainly see that since their employees appear to do no work at all!

Improved Experience Over Time

11/13/23 UPDATE: I'm changing my review to four stars (up from 1 star originally). It appears the problem with the flies was due to reliance on Orkin, who did not address the problem adequately. They hired a new company, Sprague Pest Control, today, who came out and addressed the fly problem. I appreciate the Colliers tried a different company in an attempt to resolve the issue for us.

I agree with the other reviewers; do not hire this company. As a tenant of one of their properties, I can attest to the fact that they do not manage their properties well and this will drive out your tenants. In only a few months at this property, we have had three leaks from the ceiling, an infestation of cluster flies for over a month, and one of the two elevators in the building has been broken for weeks. Do not hire this company if you want to make money and rent your property!

Shady!

Shady!
I called and number from Major property website that leads to this company and a Vodafone answerphone message response!
Then I managed to pull through and speak to some cowboy who wanted to take down my details, but I made it perfectly clear. I was calling about one particular property and I wasn’t looking to sign up!
please, like this review along with all the other Bad ones to help people avoid this company

3 enquriries and NO response - forget it then

I made three contacts to Colliers (two by email and one phone call). NO response at all to any of my messages or phone call.

How is the company still in business if they never respond to enquiries? I gave up in the end. I feel sorry for the company who instructed this shamble of a company as they clearly are not bothered about responding to sales leads. AVOID!
